jenius Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 (edited) So, anyone got the second series already? So far I only see HLJ stock them, no other on-line shop or even any local shop in Hong Kong have them, not sure why I got mine from Overdrive. Glad to see a series 3.... since series 2 didn't have an insert I was beginning to wonder if the line was going to die. Is that a Crusader? A Crusader figure? Don't tell me that will be the secret hard to get valk...... There is no chase figure in VFC2. You get all 12 toys... up from VFC1's 10. Edited March 18, 2009 by jenius Quote
EXO Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Good thing I happened by! Thanks EXO. I've been happy with the quality of the first set (except for that reversed UN SPacy thing). The dimensions are good and these look great too. It will be nice to get the fan liner since my daughter squashed the one I scratchbuilt! Less work for me now ! -MT It'll look great with your project! We need to get that in at the MWCon when it's done. How to fly it over??? no idea. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Oh hell yes a Fan Racer!! So gotta get this full set! And lookie! The Crusader! Yummy, V-4.................. But i'm llving the Fan Racer and Liner most of all!!!! Quote

SpaceCowboy Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 That's cool. I'm really liking this line, but mainly because I'm having fun designing a board game for the pieces. What I really want is 1/200 enemy mechs!!! Still, I'll probably get series 3 as well, since I have the other two series. Quote
miriya Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 That is awesome! VF-3000 and VF-4 and fan liner are exactly what I have been wanting. I have been wanting them in 1/48 or 1/60 but I guess that this will have to do for now! Quote
Vifam7 Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Those vertical stabs look huge on that VF-1. It's probably just a camera angle thing. The prior VFC VF-1s were just fine. Quote
Penguin Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I was just thinking yesterday, "I hope there'll be a 3rd 1/200 VF set announced soon!" This looks totally sweet. Quote
MechTech Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Thanks CF18! Now I just have to keep from drooling on the keyboard! - MT Quote
jenius Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I took some pics of VFC 2 over on my site, here's a sample: See all the pics by clicking here. Quote
biggooftoybox Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Ok so what in the world is the Fan Liner. And is it just me or doest eh VF-3000 Crusader look almost identical to the VF-1? I seem to recall that the VF-3000 is supposed to look different. Still i have the other two sets so i'll likely get this set too. Although if Bandai hurries with their VF100s line and captures these obscure Valks too, I may swtich gears. Quote
jenius Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 The fanliner is the plane Minmay wins and that Hikaru uses to escort her around Earth before the UN orders the SDF-1 back into orbit. Quote
Graham Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 Haven't been able to find set 2 anywhere here in HK. All the retailers seem to have forgot or couldn't be bothered to order it. Graham Quote
Roy Focker Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Just got my first Set of theses. From HLJ by SAL got them in one week. Set #1 On Sale and I'm liking them. I didn't think they are worth the Full Price. I'll buy Set #2 when they go on Sale. I was afraid about the blind sets. The VA-3 doesn't thrill me and I did want to find 10 VA-3 in Gerwalk mode. Ended up with three VA-3 one in each mode, three VF-1J in each mode, three YF-19 in each mode and Low Vis Battroid. Some of the Battroid's have wide leg stance that makes it hard for them to stay on the stand. Quote
jenius Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 The VFCs aren't blind sets at all, they're guaranteed full sets with one bonus figure (in the first series) and guaranteed full sets with all three bonus figures in the second series. Quote
MechTech Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Thanks for that update Jenius! I loved the review on your site and I'm glad we're getting more for our money (though costing more of it) with this wave (I posted accordingly). Waiting on wave three...! - MT Quote
GRAND CANNON Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Anyone happen to have any of these along with a 1/200 HCM-Pro? Would be interested in seeing a comparison shot. Quote
Vifam7 Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Anyone happen to have any of these along with a 1/200 HCM-Pro? Would be interested in seeing a comparison shot. Here's one from me. Sorry for the poor pic. Quote
GRAND CANNON Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Great, thanks! Wanted to see if they would relflect some stats and it appears they do. Would love to gather a bunch of them and a big board to put together a Macross/Gundam chess set! Quote
Vifam7 Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Slightly better pics. Next to Gundam Mk.II In formation with Takara gashapon F-4 Phantom of same scale Quote
MechTech Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Vifam7, is that the 1/200 Takara model, or another gashapon? Thanks!- MT Quote
Vifam7 Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Vifam7, is that the 1/200 Takara model, or another gashapon? Thanks!- MT Yes, it is the 1/200 Takara. Quote
regult Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) Take a look at these 1/200 DIECAST models if you want detail and craftsmanship...price is of course higher than that of a Gashapon, but truly amazing detail, you'd think it's a 1/72 or even bigger if I hadn't told you it IS 1/200! Too bad they never made anything Macross (license?) but a company from Japan (Gulliver) did a diecast MAVE Yukikaze. Edited December 3, 2009 by regult Quote
MechTech Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 (edited) Thanks guys! I already have a few of Guliver's 1/200 models. You DO need a magnifying glass to read all the "do not steps" and other details! - MT Edited April 26, 2009 by MechTech Quote
biggooftoybox Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Does anyone know when is the next series going to be out? Right now I have the problem of where to put them all. At this scale they're rather numerous and some of them don't sit/stand on the provided stand very well. My YF-21 in fighter mode has a problem sticking to the stand. Quote
MechTech Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Last time took about three months or so If I remember correctly. I of course was wondering the same. I'm hoping they even release it! Sales from the other set don't seem to be as common. - MT Quote
MechTech Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Wow! It's been about eight months! Has anyone heard any news on the 3rd box set yet!? I'm afraid they may drop it and it's probably one of the coolest sets yet! - MT Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Please Yamato, don't kill this set I'd like to know what's happening too, this is THE set!!!! VF-3000, VF-4, Fan racer, Fan Liner, pure awesomeness. Quote
MechTech Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Ditto! I've looked at all the usual places and cannot find any updates still. I'm hoping this has not died. You know, they can still release these in time for Christmas! - MT Quote

Ignacio Ocamica Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Thank you very much for keeping us informed!!! This line has brought us some obscure mecha such as the VA-3 and the VF-9. The VF-3000 and the VF-4 were planned for the 3rd box set, two of my top 5 all time favorite VF list Quote
Graham Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 OK, had a reply back from Yamato. Basically they said that they have been really busy and the VFC series 3 got put aside and they sort of forgot all about it. Anyway, they are going to have a meeting to discuss whether on not to still release it (I gather series 1 & 2 where not huge sellers). There is some discussion about using a different material instead of ABC+PVC (I believe PU was mentioned) and having them fully painted. Apparently this would not affect the cost, or would even result in a cheaper selling price. But basically, it's all up in the air at the moment. So don't give up hope. These may still be released in some form. I will post again when I hear more. Graham Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 (edited) Big thank you for your time and reporting back to us!!!! I hope Yamato decides to continue with this line Worst case scenario I'll have to scratchbuild a VF-3000 Edited December 4, 2009 by Ignacio Ocamica Quote
MechTech Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 A MAJOR THANK YOU Graham for checking into this! Let them know there are some fanatics out there in 1/200 scale. In fact, I belong to a group of 1/200 scale modelers. I'll have them put these in there newsletter if they decide to release! I'm working on all the ground vehicles to go with these. I'll post some pictures and hopefully mold some after the holidays. - MT Quote
