MacrossMan Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 You guys know anything about this fighter? I researched it and apparently this fighter never made it to production. I do not know if it was even a part of the Macross storyline. I did find some advertising info that showed the figure to be in possibly 1/72 scale. Compared to the hands in the picture, the toy looked pretty small. Nonetheless, I think it is is a good looking Valk. Here is the link and the picture that is displayed there. http://unspacy.msyte.com/images/swxa1/SW-XA1.jpg Quote
badboy00z Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Looks like the VF-11 without the canards. Quote
valkyrie13 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I believe these are what you are lookng for. It showed up in a special article in a model magazine. I believe there is a thread discussing this somewhere, too. Quote
Sumdumgai Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Is not part of Macross canon. Is cool variable fighter along the lines of the VF-0 and VF-1. I remember something about a testbed for new technology based upon a tested and proven airframe (VF-1). I would love a Yamato toy of this baby and the SW-XAII Quote
Graham Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 No, the SW-XA1 & SW-XA2 are not cannon as yet according to Kawamori. Read the following Macross Compendium link for details: - SW-XA1 And that is not a toy shown in the Character Model magazine. It is a one-off scratch built resin garage kit. Graham Quote
cobywan Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 (edited) It is a one-off scratch built resin garage kit. That statement is almost as self contradictory as a Bush State of the Union address. Edited February 13, 2008 by cobywan Quote
Zinjo Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 The SW-XA1, is SK's update of the VF-1, which wasn't apparent until Mac Zero. Officially it is explained as an experimental fighter. I tend to believe it was his re-design to see if the VF-1 could be updated and who knows maybe Bigwest was considering a re-animation of SDFM to side step the legal problems with the original. I tend to believe the SW-XA2 was a re-design of the VF-9 to something with a much less clumbsy transformation sequence. However why SK did the designs are purely conjecture on my part since nothing is mentioned outside the official explanations. Quote
