Vifam7 Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Is it safe to use Gundam marker over Tamiya spraycan paint? I've read elsewhere that Gundam marker is enamel paint and that Tamiya spraycan paint is acrylic or lacquer. And that enamel over acrylic/lacquer is not good. Would spraying top coat over the paint prior to using Gundam marker a good idea? I use Gundam marker for painting small areas and paneling. Advice appreciated. Quote
Wicked Ace Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 I've used Gundam marker over Tamiya brand spray paints many times -- doesn't hurt anything. However, cleanup (when the phone rings and you go outside the panel line) is easier with a coat of Future (an acrylic floor finish). Any Gundam marker will wipe off easily with a paper towel sprayed with some blue glass cleaner, like Windex brand, on the glossy Future coat. After using the Gundam marker, you can seal it in with a flat coat. Quote
