Hikuro Posted December 29, 2008 Author Posted December 29, 2008 Where's the link for the download of the DVD version? Perhaps I'll have some luck. Gone, deleted the file from the server. Quote
Hikuro Posted December 31, 2008 Author Posted December 31, 2008 The movie is being reuploaded. It's set up as an .ace file and it zipped just fine it's just a really long process of putting up when I've got other deals downloading too....House is my latest addiction with the lack of Battlestar Galatica. A physical DVD is completed. Here Hikaru and his VF-1S pose for the camera on their first american release! Took these shots with the DVD playing on my Blu-ray player. Course you'll have to set your TV accordingly if you play it on a seperate DVD player. But if your player is TV built in it wont be a problem to play properly. No price tag on this yet, I'm still jobless after sending in 12 applications this week so far, and cast members get first dibs. Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 I'm thinking you need a little thing on the inside of the front cover. You know. Make it like an actual DVD release of a movie... Anyway, sweet work, dude. It works, and that's what matters. If it don't work for the D/l... Damn it all. Crossing my fingers... I'm thinking the price point should be... $12.27... Quote
Hikuro Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 Well I didn't want it to expensive, I'm thinking 8 dollars..I've sent an email to cast members and I know of 2 who will buy one. I did want to put something in the box, but I don't really have any paper that works you can split in half or anything less it looks lopsided. Like some sort of Mikimoto waterpaint art work or something. Quote

Like some sort of Mikimoto waterpaint art work or something. I see. Well, $12.27 is the most I'd pay for it... That's why I put it. I can understand about the inside of the box thing. I call first dibs, after the cast! Quote
Hikuro Posted January 2, 2009 Author Posted January 2, 2009 lol it's kind of an odd amount though, why not 12? or 12.50? Why 12.27? where'd that number come from? I've gotten a couple of emails from cast about 5 I think who are going to order their copies, that pretty much knocks me out on what I got left for materials. In the meantime, a surprising developement has occured in the last few days. I wasn't going to really start this project until next year YES next year not this year, but I'm well underway on the scripting of Macross Plus Movie Edition. Right now I have over 350 lines scripted, with 45 minutes worth of footage looked at. It's a pretty doable movie...though I've found 1 song on there that's not in the OST tracks which isn't bad, I can substitute it with the one closest which exists. Casting isn't set in stone, I'm probably gonna need more help on this one with a cast then I did with DYRL which I barely had enough to get done in my opinion. If I'm lucky...and I get a good cast.....it could be summer of 09, IF I'm lucky....meaning good cast, a good mix...it wont be 100% identical to the movie at all. It'll be kind of similar to what Volume 4 was like for Manga. But I'm still gathering up lots of SFX's from various shows that I know can be used, so no worries. Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 $12.27's got a long story behind it. Don't worry 'bout it, man. Macross Plus: Movie Edition, eh? I never really thought that to be something that'd ever be fandubbed. I mean, with the OVA officially dubbed and all... Well, g'luck, man. (I never watched Movie Edition, but if the scene with the defense satelites is in it, a silly laser effect sucks in my opinion. There's an awesome sound effect from Star Wars Battlefront II that would own in its place. That's my piece of advice/request ) Man, I wish I could help man, but... I can't... I'd totally play the psychotic programmer at the Sharon Apple concert, or, even cooler, Yang... they fit my description pretty well, actually... Well, again, G'luck, Hik. I can't wait to see it when it's done... Summer 2009... If we survive the Zentraedi attack... Quote
xMaDxPeNgUiNx Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I just downloaded this and ran it. Great stuff!! Quote
Hikuro Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 It was something brought up I think last year or two when I originally announced I was tackling DYRL...I can't remember who but I was asked if I could do Plus movie and Macross II....now with Macross II having both OVA and Movie dubbed, I didn't see a point. But with Plus movie edition just going Subtitled I thought why not? I'm at the part where Isamu, Guld, and Yang find out that the Ghost X9 won the competition...so I'm a little over an hour into the scripting. So it's going VERY well. Quote
Hikuro Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 lol yeah I wont, it's on my desktop, no way I'd delete it. Quote

Hikuro Posted January 4, 2009 Author Posted January 4, 2009 Trust me I wont, seeing how I just now finished the script, I'm putting it under lock and key for my own protection. Quote

matchstick Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 (edited) I may come off as a newb here, but I have done my fair share of custom dvd's and video editing... And I just wanted to offer up a bit of help about the whole Zentradi/Meltradi hardsub removal issue... I forget who was working on this, and I don't think he had a thread about it, but it could be passed on to him by others here. Instead of doing the cropping and frame resize solution that I saw mentioned. a better solution would be in my eyes is to actually cut the scene sections out as there own video file and do a logo removal filter on that section, then re-cut in the scenes into the final version. The reason I say cut out the scenes to be edited on their own is because the filter runs through the entire video and only uses the mask for the one section you mark it for, and you only want the filter to run on select scenes, and not mask the same area through the entire film... hope that made sense. Here are a few a tutorials on using different types of logo filters. http://forum.videohelp.com/topic333648.html http://forum.videohelp.com/topic320220.html http://forum.videohelp.com/topic280003.html#1376335 http://www.voidon.republika.pl/virtualdub/...1/logoaway.html http://www.compression.ru/video/subtitles_...l/index_en.html Edited January 5, 2009 by matchstick Quote
Hikuro Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 Actually the hard sub stuff turned out rather well for the DVD issue, you can't see the Japanese text 98% of the time, the way the english subs look just completely cover it up and the jap.text is practically blurred. But thank you for your assistance. In other news, I got a new Roy Fokker, and he's good guys. Lionel sadly just has to many things going on, but this should help the production. This new VA might even make a good Isamu. Quote

Or will it be redone in such a way that he didn't have a rough voice until SWI? I don't care much either way, but I'm a bit curious as to how you plan to incorporate a new VA. Many professionally dubbed anime die due to the replacement of a minor character, let alone a major one. (Get it? Major Roy Focker? ) Quote

You should make a profit on this though, considering how much work you put in for it. I for one would actually feel better if you made something for yourself out of this. Quote

He SHOULD make a profit for his work, but that whole pesky intellectual property law thing gets in the way sometimes. I'm sure Shoji Kawamori is somewhere thinking HE should make a profit on this thing. Quote

Hikuro Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 Hell if I could make a profit off this stuff, my ass would be sitting in this comfortable chair of mine infront of a computer screen busting the moves on anything I could get my hands on. I just want fans to know there's something else out there and it isn't clash of the bionoids nor is it Robotech again and again. I see... But you're all going to have to wait until I have something to show which probably wont be long, this new VA is very jazzed to try this role. Quote

I, for one, will continue to watch even if characters are replaced. We don't have much alternative, and though it may be hard to get used to a new voice, a good actor can sell it. I got used to the new Dumbledore. I never got used to the Ranma voice when VIZ switched VAs. If I could get my hands on the rest of the series would I watch it anyway? Hells to the yizeah. Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 No, Fokker was in Robotech. That's pronounced Folker. Focker, in Macross, is pronounced Fock (rhymes with.. )-er. Like "Meet the Fockers". And I know one convert. I can't remember her name for the life of me, but she named her daughter, Miriya. That's Robotech. Last year, at a Robotech (I believe) con, Miriya cosplayed Ranka, and sang Aimo... Best 6-year-old singer I've heard Quote
Hikuro Posted January 18, 2009 Author Posted January 18, 2009 (edited) WEll in either case I need to apologize to those who ordered DVD's....I'm being really slow about it I know I' mvery sorry...some of ya know I've been running around left and right trying to get a job still....so when I hit that "Bummed" stage I totally forget to hit the post office. I'll get your stuff shipped VERY VERY VERY VERY freaking soon. http://revver.com/video/923946/cristina-ve...r-16-interview/ This is Cristina's interview back in the summer time when Akia R-16 was released. The voice cast is pretty much a mix of first timers and slightly seasoned VA's which made it interesting. And it talks about how Cristina got into VAing which is rather silly.
