cobywan Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 So should I do a version 1.5 of my Lancer II kit? I'm thinking that I should update the detailing to Capn' America's style. I could invent a cockpit as well. Quote
Gabe Q Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 I think I'd be in. What kind of price point are we talking? Quote
jadefalconguard Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Depending on the price I would be interested in one Quote
neptunesurvey Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 (edited) I'll take two or three. I need some more to go with your first Lancer. Edited January 24, 2008 by neptunesurvey Quote
cool8or Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 But... exist security about if Lancer II is really manned? Anyway, I been built the Lancer, but anoter one should be cool Quote
cobywan Posted January 24, 2008 Author Posted January 24, 2008 The Lancer is manned. The price might be about $65-$85. Not sure. Definately less than $165. Quote
Valkyrie Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 I'd totally be in for one. Extra detailing would be awesome, but a cockpit isn't a must for me. Quote
cobywan Posted January 25, 2008 Author Posted January 25, 2008 When I was doing this the first time, I was asked to do a cockpit. At the time I was adamant about sticking only to what was seen in line art and in the animation. That wasn't very much... I have since been enjoying John's interperetations of the Tactical Pods and Destroids. So for me the cockpit will be the biggest challenge. (Mainly in design not execution.) It would add to the final cost in the end though. And I would really have to consider what to do with the glazing. Quote
cool8or Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 As I said before, I already have the Original Lancer II. I'll interested only if it include a Cockpit. Quote
007-vf1 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 (edited) Double freaking post....!!!! Edited January 25, 2008 by 007-vf1 Quote
007-vf1 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 a new redesigned lancer sounds good. A clear a canopy and cockpit sounds even better... I will depend on the price though.. I finally finished mine except for the decals... Quote
cobywan Posted January 25, 2008 Author Posted January 25, 2008 I haven't seen on in a long time. That build up looks great. Quote
jardann Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I'd have to pick up one or two. Even if they were just straight repops of your original. Of course, a cockpit sounds quite cool. Quote
cobywan Posted January 25, 2008 Author Posted January 25, 2008 I have to make changes. I "retired" the first version. I'v got a few ideas running through my head for it. Quote
Ranger565 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I have to make changes. I "retired" the first version. I'v got a few ideas running through my head for it. I have the first one! Now send me 2 of the new versions i am so in! This is a good idea Coby! Quote
valkyrie13 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I have the first one as well, all cleaned up and waiting assembly. I was thinking of scratchbuilding the cockpit but will put that on hold. Sign me up for one. Quote
Berttt Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I am an but don't need a cockpit. I wouldv'e been happy with a version 1! Quote
big F Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I am an but don't need a cockpit. I wouldv'e been happy with a version 1! You and Valk 13 need to talk I think Quote
jardann Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I have to make changes. I "retired" the first version. I'v got a few ideas running through my head for it. Oooh! Along with the cockpit, are there any landing gear references? That would be cool IMHO and then I would definitely need two! Quote
jorawar_b Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I got an idea, what do you make a total custom two seater recon Lancer with set up that looks like a mini VE-1 or VEFR-1 Do not add a radar boom but make the exension of the boom longer and add the circle radar of the elint. Add a few sensors, add some antennas make the front mount cannons smaller Call it a RF-3E Wild Weasel Lancer Hows that for a total custom lancer. If I had the talent to make something I would try it. Quote
Grayson72 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 (edited) That sounds interesting Jorawar, I'd make the radar boom more oblong/oval shap instead of circle but the rest would be cool. Here's my buildup for reference. Edited January 25, 2008 by Grayson72 Quote
cobywan Posted January 25, 2008 Author Posted January 25, 2008 Oooh! Along with the cockpit, are there any landing gear references? That would be cool IMHO and then I would definitely need two! I have to think that because these are space only, landing gear wouldn't exist on them. I imagine that they are hung from racks like Tie-Fighters in Star Wars. At the most they may have some kind of extending slabs that can be magnetized for storage and maintanance. Quote
jorawar_b Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Cobywan what do you think of my idea, thanks for the support Grayson.... I have a 1/72 Lancer and man if I had any talent I would try it myself. Quote
cobywan Posted January 25, 2008 Author Posted January 25, 2008 It sounds like a one-off kind of project to me really. Quote
Grayson72 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 That was a "no, do it yourself with a kitbash/custom build thingy" Quote
cobywan Posted January 26, 2008 Author Posted January 26, 2008 I was trying to be nice about it. Quote
jorawar_b Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I know that why I added a I would look into getting one of your kits with a cockpit set... Quote
jadefalconguard Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 At the mentionend pricetag I'd be in for maybe two Even with or without cockpit Quote
MechTech Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 That design looks like it would suck to fly; "I can't see, the guns are too big and the muzzle flash is blinding." Then again, it's hard to miss your target with that big a shell. I always thought it was a drone too. - MT Quote
Heavy Melder Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Add me to the list, and put me down for two. I missed the first release by a mile and just have to have one to add to the collection. Quote
