wolfx Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I'm sure most of you would like this news....though I suspect most people already know about it. Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Yup, definitely looking forward to this. Quote
Mr March Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 This is brilliant. I'm definitely on board for this. I can't wait to see it. Quote
chowyunskinny Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Thanks for the article. Heard about this a while back but I was wondering if Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman are on board for the voice talent. Really looking forward to this and hopefully some figures from maybe Kaiyodo or Kotobukiya to go along with it. Quote
yellowlightman Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Hopefully it won't be as boring and awful as the Animatrix was, but it's a nifty idea. Quote
Kurisama Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 SWEET! Can't wait for this - Production I.G can do no wrong! Quote
Dante74 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 If that's a shot from the actuall product then it sure looks promising! Can't wait to see it. Quote
hutch Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 The people they have involved in this on both sides of the pond have me very optimistic. I'm excited to see it. Quote
Warmaker Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 One word: Sweet The Batman cartoons have traditionally been deemed in a very favorable light. With Japanese studios doing the animation? Should be interesting. Right now, the Batman franchise is back on track after the disastrous derailing of the late 90s. This is another great indicator of its successful return. All thanks to Batman Begins Quote
Roy's Blues Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I'm looking forward to this. Especially Madhouse's take on Batman Quote
Alpha OTS Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Would that make this a Batmanime? < cue drum roll > Quote

chowyunskinny Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I think it would be funny if they had Poison Ivy with tentacle vines and Harley Quinn was Gothic Lolita style Quote
bigkid24 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 That looks very promising. I'm looking forward to it. Quote
baronv Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Great idea, seems like a spin on the Batman: Black & White trade paperbacks. I wonder how different the various art styles will look if it'll be a varied as the Batman episode that had the modern, Dick Sprang, and Frank Miller DKR looks. BTW, just saw the new Justice League: The New Frontier DVD movie and it is really good. Way better than the recent Superman: Doomsday, Brainac Attacks, and even some of the recent Batman direct to DVD movies. Captures the spirit of the comic pretty closely with just minor plot points taken out to fit the time restrictions. Looks like DC Comics is moving ahead with more mature themes and even violence which ramps up the blood count from the Superman: Doomsday video to a bit more extreme deaths in New Frontier. Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 friggin sweet! What's next? A full series maybe in anime style with guest stars galore? That'd be sweet too. Quote

badboy00z Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Looks epic. I always thought an anime Batman would be really kickass. Quote
Impreszive Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Thanks for the article. Really looking forward to this and hopefully some figures from maybe Kaiyodo or Kotobukiya to go along with it. Don't know about the others, but I do know that Kevin Conroy will be voicing Bats. "Who is he?", you ask? The voice actor for Batman: The Animated Series, and in the Justice League cartoons Basically the longest running player of Batman in the franchise's history. Quote
ssfsx17 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 SWEET! Can't wait for this - Production I.G can do no wrong! Otougi Zoushi - the whole second half Blood+ - not very well-written to say the least Le Chevalier d'Eon - the whole Russia arc Reideen - not very well liked For every GITS:SAC and Seirei no Moribito, there's something gone horribly wrong. bandit29 Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 (edited) New trailer looks great. Maybe I'll have to go to Wizard World Chicago this year. Blu-ray box art and specs. Due on July 8. here Edited April 18, 2008 by dejr8bud Quote

The voice actor for Batman: The Animated Series, and in the Justice League cartoons Basically the longest running player of Batman in the franchise's history. Kevin Conroy's doing the voice? Now I'm completely sold. I often find manga/anime-style Batman representations a little off-putting... maybe I'm just a little biased to seeing an American style for so long... so I was a little on the fence. But I love Conroy's portrayal. It's pretty much iconic for the character, in my opinion. Quote
