I've noticed over the past week that the boards have become very slow in loading new pages and/or logging in. Is this due to anything specifically observable? Is this a high-traffic situation?

I've noticed the same thing... I was thinking it was due to the toy news and the new series coming out that we're just being slammed. It's been a while since we've had traffic like this. But it seems like it's still a small amount of visitors compared to other forums.

There was one day, maybe two days ago, when I couldn't get on the boards late at night. About midnight, eastern time. Aside from that, the boards seem to be relatively hassle-free.

yeah, at night it's slow... ironically, the response I previously posted on this thread took 15 minutes to post. then it was fine after that.

15 minutes?! Maybe you should take some typing lessons or something. :p

The last couple of weeks the boards have been a litlle slower for me. Sometimes a page won't load at all. It'll just say "waiting for macrossworld.com/....."without actually loading anything and I'll get a "timeout/faled to reply" message after a certain time.

Lately we've been getting a lot more attacks-the logs show we are frequently under various brute force type attacks

I figure all the kids are off school on Christmas vacation and are bored and trying to crack all the boards they can find...
