David Hingtgen Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 There was a blurb before K.K. was cast that the movie would focus on Chun-Li taking down Bison's empire. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Sweettt. Shadow Loo or Shadow Law? Quote
David Hingtgen Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Just for your consideration: Here's Zhang Ziyi just standing there. And she gives off a huge Chun-Li vibe IMHO. Imagine her in the costume. Quote
Wes Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 i hope this movie is rated R othewise its pointless. i've been waiting for KK to get nekkid forever! ...comon, you don't have to be in it all for the porn. If push comes to shove just hope it becomes popular enough and she might show up in Playboy, like it worked out for BSG. Quote
Vince Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Just for your consideration: Here's Zhang Ziyi just standing there. And she gives off a huge Chun-Li vibe IMHO. Imagine her in the costume. unfortunately she is too big for this kind of movie.. Quote

So they didn't pick a nice Chinese girl to play a Chinese character NVM that Zhang Ziyi has been in several martial arts themed movies already. Quote
Sundown Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I dunno... Zhang doesn't really have Chun-Li's face, and I think she's too slight. Kreuk bothers me because she looks so obviously not-really-all-asian... but she might be more watchable for me. Quote
kanedaestes Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 You know the perfect street fighter movie has been made. It just needs to be tweaked a bit, but Street Fighter II the animated movie pretty muched summed everything up the way it is supposed to be. Quote
Max Jenius Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Dear God no... the end times are upon us. Quote
Warmaker Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Dear God no... the end times are upon us. Not yet. Not until they make Live Action movies of Dragonball Z and Dead Or Alive. Or even Macross! Quote
eugimon Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Not yet. Not until they make Live Action movies of Dragonball Z and Dead Or Alive. Or even Macross! huh? Live action dragonball Z is in the works and there already was a live action DoA. Quote
Warmaker Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 That's great then! We're already a few steps closer to the Apocalypse! Quote
EXO Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 If the end of the world comes looking like Kirsten Kreuk dressed as Chun Li then I'll welcome sweet Armageddon... cuz it's the bomb, the bomb, the bomb that will bring us together! Of course I'm not gonna see this film... I'm just waiting for the trailers. Quote

Kreuk bothers me because she looks so obviously not-really-all-asian... but she might be more watchable for me. Well, the only reason I would choose Zhang over Kreuk is that Zhang definitely is a stronger martial artist. Her hand to hand in Wushu is really accomplished. In her movies, she look like she can f*ck you up with those kicks of hers. Kreuk may be a pretty face, but I don't really know if she is a great Martial Artist, from what I have seen anyway. Nothing to do with her being less Asian than Zhang. Edited December 29, 2007 by kensei Quote
bandit29 Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 No Ken or Ryu is this movie...they want to save them for sequels...good luck with that.. http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3168181 I get the point.. more focus on one character instead of just cameos of everyone else but ..ack.. Quote
Max Jenius Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Chun Li's hands are too small. And those flames on her hood? Shia Lebouf as M. Bison?! Childhood rape! (this post is just a joke btw. ) Quote

I'm sure it will be ok. Wires can do alot these days! She better have the proper 100 kick (whatever the name is), you know, the rapid kicking move that would break the sound barrier. The spinning bird kick should be there standard... Edited June 12, 2008 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote

CoryHolmes Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 nice BLUE eyes Chun Li. Sigh... When did they start casting Fremen in Hollywood? Quote
boota Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Sigh, casting Zhang Ziyi as Chun Li seems like a no-brainer to everyone... as far as a live-action SF movie to be taken seriously by the masses is concerned... but don't anyone get the feeling that she's probably over-used for such roles? I don't know... if the peeps involved thinks Kristin Kreuk can pull it off, she probably could with proper coaching... she's got the looks and besides, Zhang Ziyi could inflate the cost of the movie... word has it that male co-stars would double their fee with Zhang cuz a certain someone has a certain b.o. problem... but don't quote me on that. With the current state of the world economy, ya gotta save whenever you can. As for a proper live-action SF show... it will be interesting to see if they can top this one:- Quote
bsu legato Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 nice BLUE eyes Chun Li. Sigh... Calm down, fanboy. Maybe Chun Li wears contacts. Quote

1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 (edited) The animated movie of SF was good. I liked the chun li fight scene in that. I wonder why Ryu the smelly hobo isn't the focus of this movie? And why he wasn't the focus of the first one with van damme in it? Don't they care about the guy who is supposed to be the winner of the tournaments and the one who actually beat the muay thai champion who practices the deadliest martial art? "Where is Ryu? Where is the champion?" Edited October 14, 2008 by 1/1 LowViz Lurker Quote

Erm, probably because Hollywood wouldn't cast an Asian as the lead and if any Capcom exec signs off the rights to letting Van Damme play the All Japanese Hero Ryu, the Capcom Board of Directors would make him commit Seppuku? It was hopeless. (besides some rare shinning moments like Ken vs Vega fight, and Chun-Li vs Bison... hehh never forget how she kept her top up by her nipple and Bisons like "hehhehehe one of your admirable talents!" XD ! First Alpha movie i liked heaps, Ken doing a massive powered up Dragon Punch (shoryuken) and Ryu is like blowing things to sh^t with massive fireballs) Edited October 14, 2008 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
