Guld Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Bandai is reissues some macross models kits and will sell its in 2008, maybe February. HLJ preorden! Quote
PetarB Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 (edited) Wow nice find. I'll probably pick up a couple of those! This is the only sad part: 1/100 VF-2SS Val. II w/Armed Pack.... can you imagine if that was 1/72...! Edited December 18, 2007 by PetarB Quote
PetarB Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Z O M G I went to order a Glaug... preorders are full?!!! W T F!!!! Quote
Duymon Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I dunno, I kinda built most of those 25'year old models like 15 years ago. I don't get Bandai. They don't make new valks because macross doesn't sell well, then they point to their poor Macross models sales..models that are like as old the show itself.. Quote

Plus your looking at 15 year old plus molding techniques. Quote
Isamu test pilot Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Time to complete the collection Quote
PetarB Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I dunno, I kinda built most of those 25'year old models like 15 years ago. Lucky for you. I didn't have any money at that time... So I'm quite keen to get a couple of these kits now. I would look forwards to going to town and doing up a couple of these... the Glaug in particular. Quote
thegunny Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 Plus your looking at 15 year old plus molding techniques. How do you know that? Are they getting them through a time machine Quote
HWR MKII Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 for all we know bandai went and refinished some of the tooling and they are all snap fit kits. UGH! come on Bandai afraid of a little glue? Quote
darkspartan36 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 (edited) Anyone know who else may be taking pre-orders or stocking these kits? They must have sold alot of pre-orders to not be taking new orders. I am sure someone that bought them will be reselling them. Edited December 19, 2007 by darkspartan36 Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 (edited) lol just noticed it too today, like, one day and it's ordered filled already? Not wanting any of these, already got the 2SS. Edited December 19, 2007 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
big F Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 (edited) How do you know that? Are they getting them through a time machine Yeah M J Fox is on the Board of Directors, and you know what car he drives. I'm going to wait until one of you guys gets one and tells us all about how good/crap it is Edited December 19, 2007 by big F Quote
Fly4victory Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Between 200 and 500 yen more for new box art? At least improve the VF-2SS so it can be made without armor. Quote
Busted VF1A Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Go back and check HLJ again. Yesterday they were all listed as "order stop" but today they are available to pre-order again. Hurry while the're still available. (no early bird tho) Quote
Busted VF1A Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Between 200 and 500 yen more for new box art? At least improve the VF-2SS so it can be made without armor. Not for box art. For inflation. It cost less to produce them when these were orginally released. Plus they are probably doing a smaller run of the re-releases (which costs more per unit) and if we're lucky they might have thrown in some improvements (not likely) and used more modern formulations for the plastic making them less brittle (more likely). Add to that general greed and you end up with a higher price tag. Quote

Grayson72 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Only two rereleases of the 1/72 kits? Lame Quote
PetarB Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 Thanks for the heads up on opening preorders, just snagged a Glaug. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 If the 2SS is improved to have it without the SAP that'd be awesome, but we don't know squat. Quote
Guest sh002 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 wow maybe they'll reissue the 1/55 valks again or the rest. wouldn't mind an extra 1/55 max and milia. Quote
HWR MKII Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 wow maybe they'll reissue the 1/55 valks again or the rest. wouldn't mind an extra 1/55 max and milia. Ummmm.... Those were toys ...not models Quote
Guest sh002 Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 ok... thanks for letting me know that. really. i was implying that maybe bandai will continue to reissue more stuff after that and do the toy reissues again. Quote
Valk009 Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Well, BanDai translated into bad English means reissue/no limited edition, so be prepared for more reissues, not only models! Knowing how they reissued other toys and models in the past, I doubt they will change anything, especially minor re-tooling, where substatial amount of money is involved with little profit value. Reissuing stuff is not a bad thing as it will allow people to buy the items they could not get hold of the fist time round or relive chilhood memories. But BanDai has also angered many collectors in the past as with most of their reissues are exactly the same as the original issue, down right to the box art details. Collectors have lost a lot of money because of this. BanDai could have been at least a little creative and repackage the items, give them a fresh look and new lease of life! Quote
thegunny Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Hmmm, with all these negative waves how could this re-release be anything but a failure Hate to see what the reaction will be once someone actually see's one of the models Quote
HWR MKII Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 well considering in fighter mode theit 1/72 is...disgusting and in battroid mode its disgusting too. Better to just get the hasegawa battroid and fighter kits. Quote
Excillon Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Everyone bashes Bandai kits, but I like the 1/72 variables, I thing gerwalk mode on them is excellent. It doesn't matter because any model is as good as the work you are willing to put into it. Quote

PetarB Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 So you've seen the new kits then? I think you can take it for granted they wont be 'new'. Still, I'm excited. Always wanted the Glaug, could never find it. Quote
valkyrie13 Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 I think you can take it for granted they wont be 'new'. Still, I'm excited. Always wanted the Glaug, could never find it. I was hoping that our very own Captain America would do these in resin in 1/72 scale, to go well with his Regults. Quote
darkspartan36 Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 I think you can take it for granted they wont be 'new'. Still, I'm excited. Always wanted the Glaug, could never find it. ....3 or 4 Glaugs on Ebay right now... For 5 times the re-issue price Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 i was implying that maybe bandai will continue to reissue more stuff after that and do the toy reissues again. I'm 99.9% certain Bandai's going to stick with the Macross models. Considering their last batch of 1/55 reissues was canned halfway through due to lackluster sales, I doubt they're going to try again anytime this decade. Quote
Guest sh002 Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 just wondering how their reissue model sales went the first time around Quote
Guest sh002 Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 who knows what bandai will do after or while they eventually release their macross f stuff. Quote
HWR MKII Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 So you've seen the new kits then? Same ones they have been reissuing since they acuired the molds in the 80s. not new kits at all. Quote
