And then I also updated the Macross SDF remastered series episode 21 and up, some of the Macross Frontier TV series and throughout the Macrosshare blog wherever updates were needed. Then I will update the Macrosshare posting. Mediafire seems to be a favorite, but it is USA based. MultiUpload.com would work. Rapidshare still works for me. Thanks for helping! Macrosshare co-admin boinger I have just now renewed my Rapidpro account for the next 3 months. Quote
boinger Posted February 12, 2012 Author Posted February 12, 2012 otakubell.com 's great laserdisc cover archive is back online! I am backing up the the Macross LD pictures this time. Macrosshare Update: 1. Forum back up is going slowly due to me having too much to do with work and family. 2. I am posting streaming Macross videos to offset the slow re-uploads of missing Macross files. 3. Mediafire will be used to replace the Macross files 4. If somebody sees some missing files that are not from MegaUpload on Macrosshare, e.g. Robotech The movie avi, then instead of posting in the comment section of the Macrosshare post to tell me, please post in the Macrosshare forum. I hardly have time to read the older comments unless there are a lot of spam posts to clean up. Quote
Renato Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 otakubell.com 's great laserdisc cover archive is back online! I am backing up the the Macross LD pictures this time. Sweet, best news ever! Thanks for the heads up, Boinger, I shall do the same. Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 I've finished scanning another of Boinger's great books: This is Animation - Macross no. 1. I'm hoping to get more of the books done a bit quicker, work should be calming down a bit. Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 (edited) Well, it looks like my hosting has been pulled. I'm looking around for other places to put the books but I'm expecting everything to be down for a while. The person who gave me the hosting space sent me a letter to post, it's at the top of my site. I've got backups of everything, once (if) I get a new host everything will be back, I'll just have to replace all the links. Edited February 29, 2012 by TwinkiePlatter Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Archive Scans is back up! (For the moment, at least) I've gotten an account set up on Mediafire, I've got no idea if this will work long-term but it's working for the moment. I'm kinda worried that visitors downloading books from my site burnt through 50+GB of bandwith in 4 days though. Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) Here's another of Boinger's great books, This is Animation - Macross no. 2! Edit 2 - I've re-uploaded to a free account. The links should work properly now. Edit - I'm having technical difficulties with MF, please stand by. Edited April 13, 2012 by TwinkiePlatter Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Another of Boinger's books, Super Dimension Fortress Macross - Memorial DVD Box. Enjoy! Quote
akim Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 A real big thanks!! All your Macross books are great!! Especially the last who helps me to discover the origin of my postcards^^ Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 (edited) No problem at all! I'l going to get all of the content transferred over to a Seedbox today and will set up the torrents throughout the week. All future books, as well as all previous ones, will be run through torrents rather than Mediafire. The first few torrents may be a bit shaky until I can get everything figured out so please bear with me. Edit - all content has been transferred and is online. Archive-Scans now runs using a dedicated Torrent server. Edited April 28, 2012 by TwinkiePlatter Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Yet another of Boinger's wonderful books: Macross - Do You Remember Love - Data Bank (aka The Gold Book). Really an incredible book, not just the content, even the print on the color pages has such high print quality that they turned out great. Thanks again Boinger for making this possible! Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Got the first book of Boinger's 2nd batch completed: Macross 7 & Macross Plus Movie Program. Enjoy! Quote
Renato Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Got the first book of Boinger's 2nd batch completed: Macross 7 & Macross Plus Movie Program. Enjoy! At last! I have only ever seen this thing once in my life, in the Sheffield Space Centre where as I spoke to Rik Newman, he picked it up, browsed through it, exclaimed "this is as good as bought", and walked off to the cashier with it. Thank you! Now to fiddle with torrent settings. I still can't use those things properly... Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 At last! I'm glad we could help! Torrent is pretty easy to set up and use, it helps if you're behind a router with UPnP and/or know how to configure network stuff. I've also gotten another booklet scanned: Macross 7 - Fire Bomber Book. Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 3 books in 3 days, even for small books I think that's my record. I've gotten the scan of This is Animation - Macross Plus done. It's a really nice one. Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Here's another Macross 7 booklet: 'Macross 7 Fire Book - Thanks Everyone!' Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Just got This Is Animation Special - Macross 7 scanned. Thanks again to Boinger for lending me these great books! Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) Another one completed. Macross 7 - Moving Picture Collection - Mylene Edition. Edited September 3, 2012 by TwinkiePlatter Quote
sketchley Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 動画集: Moving Picture Collection Don't know why everyone mistakenly refers to them as Sketchbooks... Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) I may have drawn the characters incorrectly into Translator, it came out a bit odd and I guessed on that part. Thanks for letting me know, I'll update the info on the post. Edit - There we go, I've changed the filenames in the torrent. Edited September 3, 2012 by TwinkiePlatter Quote
Renato Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 "Moving picture" is even more confusing, IMO. "In-between collection" or even "Douga collection" would be fine, since enthusiasts know what those terms mean. Thanks a lot for these scans, though! Quote
sketchley Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 The other option is "Animation Collection", but then that begs the question why didn't they title it "アニメ集"? It's really an odd title, as the stills in it are really not in-betweens, but more akin to key frames... "Douga Collection" works for me, as it saves everyone the hassle of figuring out the optimum translation. Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Hopefully now that I've got Google Translate more or less figured out I'll get the titles closer to correct in the future. Still a pain to draw kanji on a touchscreen with my finger though. Here's another book: This Is Animation The Select - Macross Plus - Movie Edition. Quote
boinger Posted October 26, 2012 Author Posted October 26, 2012 (edited) Rapidshare has locked me out of my account and deleted my files, whether the files were Macross related or not including the WM Cheng Modelling pdfs. 50% of Macrosshare blog is still online, which is the half run by the other macrosshare admin s. Forumer has deleted the Macrosshare forum posts and transferred the new Macrosshare forum to Yoku. The macrosshare forum was an IPB forum on server 19. So, the original macrosshare forum is permanently gone. http://fhq.forumer.c...9-oct-17-a.html In the last week, somebody had logged onto the Macrosshare blog directly to request Rapid points be sent to somebody's rapidshare account. I don't know if somebody hacked the Macrosshare blog or one of the other admin s decided to update the blog without telling me? I know I didn't do that. But, I took down those rapidshare requests today. The same week that there is a Macrosshare blog post request for Rapid points that I never made is also the same week that my Rapidshare account is locked and deleted. So basically, I cannot be a Macrosshare admin anymore. Edited October 27, 2012 by boinger Quote
frothymug Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Are you going to need to replace the lost files? Quote
boinger Posted October 27, 2012 Author Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) I will not be able to recover all of the lost blog post files. I have most of my Macross files backed up, but one of my hard drives died last month that had most of the Macrosshare HD audio and video files on it. I thought that I could just re-download those files from my file locker account. Not any more. To recover those lost Macrosshare files would take about a year or two with my upload speed at 40-50 kb/s, if I can find those files again. Also there were a lot of Macross files that are now permanently missing from the Macrosshare forum that were never posted on the main blog. The forum was not backed up because of the lack of convenient forum back up options and it's just wasn't my responsibility as admin to maintain member files on the forum. The Forumer company was recently bought out by the Yoku forum company. Last month, Forumer was upgrading their forums by backing up forum servers 14,16 & 19 to an Amazon cloud server and that Amazon cloud server crashed and permanently lost the Macrosshare and many other forums. The good news is that the Macrosshare blog has not been closed down and the other admin blog postings are still intact. But, I'm not sure if I'm the right guy to run the Macrosshare blog, since so many things went wrong without enough contingency planning. Other Macrosshare admin.s have been notified. frothymug Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 I'm just asking, in case you need one of us to help you get those files. I have a lot of the episodes and movies saved on my computer, as do many others, I'm sure. Quote
Renato Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Damn... That sucks. There were still a few audio files I needed to grab, like a couple of the M7 cassette tapes and the CD Cinema stuff. Quote
boinger Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) This is boinger, Macrosshare blog admin.Somehow, when my computer crashed last week, Google lost my password and none of my other passwordswould work for my google account.I cannot log onto the Macrosshare blog without my google account to do any updates and I cannot use my youtube account either.(Update: requested name deletions) are the only two people who have admin authorityto re-instate me as admin and I have not heard received a response from their emailsfor over a week now. I'll try emailing them again.Google passoword recovery only works through cellphone SMS messaging now and I don't have a cellphonethat has SMS messaging. And because I no longer have access to my google account, I cannot update my profile to say that I don't have a cellphone through Google. Google has been giving me nothing, but automated email responses. I found Google's customer support number in the USA. I get to phone long distance because Google has crappy automated customer support.http://www.google.com/intl/en/contact/index.htmlGoogle Inc.1600 Amphitheatre ParkwayMountain View, CA 94043Phone: +1 650-253-0000Fax: +1 650-253-0001 Edited September 10, 2014 by boinger Quote
boinger Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 (edited) I thought I could get Google to phone me instead (me phoning) them to avoid paying for a long distance phone call. Google is blocking the automated customer support phone service by not accepting any my credit card numbers?! Now I have to phone my credit card customer support to see if there is a problem with my credit cards! ************ Update: My credit cards are okay! And I was able to find a working Google customer support phone number: "Live interaction with a Google account specialist Call us at the number below when you are ready to talk to an account specialist. We will then prompt you to enter your confirmation code. Phone number: 1-877-869-9191 (toll free in the US) or +1-404-978-8444" Now, I just have to wait 2-5 business days for Google's response. If Goolge will not give me back my old account, then the other Macrosshare admin.s will have to re-instate my account using my new Google account. Edited January 17, 2013 by boinger Quote
boinger Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 I got my Google acccount back! Hurray! I double checked my google account security settings, so I hope not to get this lost password problem again. Quote
TwinkiePlatter Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I've finished another of Boinger's books: Macross Plus - Game Edition - Official Cheats File. Enjoy! Quote
Renato Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Great! I have this book back in the UK. I believe it's got some storyboards for the action scenes of Episode 2 at the rear section. I will try to download and check, because I think those are not in any other book. Quote
