If you downloaded the Macross Special from RapidShare, then you'll have to rename the Macross Special to what Gubaba named his Macross Special bittorrent.

I use utorrent for bittorrent filesharing.

I'm doing a lot of encoding, uploading and downloading to iMacross4 just now, so I'm not much help for bittorrents.

I just finished fixing the DYRL subs and handed them over to OptimusX for DVD patch conversion.

Once he's ready with the patch and an updated DYRL .ssa/.ass subtitles, I'll pass those DYRL subtitles over to Gubaba. Possibly by the end of this year, Gubaba will be updating the DYRL subtitles, but in the meantime the DYRL are as timed as best as I could.

Also, OptimusX has been busy getting the remastered Macross Flashback subtitle DVD patch together and it will be available by next month.

Chad Dunham has been fixing up Macross II and the remastered SDF.

All the Macross videos will be looking better, thanks to Chad!

So, I'll get back to subtitling SDF ep. 3 tomorrow.

I opend the "Macross II remastered" folder on iMacross4.

Chad Dunham has provided an improved video of MII OVA from the Bandai OVA DVDs.

So, it's just a matter of time to get those DVDs with better video and subtitled. Then make the nicer videos into dual audio subtitled .mkv video files.

Like the Macross Frontier folder, I'll moving video and audio files that belong to the same series into the same folder. I'm just moving files around and repackaging stuff as way of spring cleaning iMacross4. Maybe, I'll do some vacuum cleaning tomorrow, too.

I'll be re-uploading updated versions of Macross 2036: The Neld Fleet Incident and Macross 2036: Eternal Love Song Picture Collectins in 2-3 days. RedWolf and Seto Kaiba have been very helpful in organizing these picture collections. I haven't altered Yoshi's MII history or any MII Macross 2036 walkthrough guides for mecha name changes. Seto Kaiba is planning to go through the Macross 2036 game manuals in detail eventually to clear up the mecha names.

A lot of the new pictures in the new Macross Picture Collections are from TwinkiePlatter of Archive Scans.

I finished subtitling sdf ep.5 for Gubaba to make final corrections. Remastered SDF ep5 will most likely be posted as a bittorrent on the weekend. Next, I"m retiming the DYRL subs for the theatrical DYRL. Then DHE DYRL to fix up for credits and subtitles, then finish up organizing the Macross pictures for M3, M7, VFX, VFX2, then subtitling sdf ep 6 and then maybe scanning 1-2 Macross books. Eventually.

I handed over a corrected remastered DYRL sub to OptimusX for a DVD subtitle patch.

OptimusX has posted Flashback 2012 spanish/english subtitled DVD and remastered SDF TV DVD disc 01 on asiandvdclub.org. He's also working on version 2 of remastered DYRL.

Chad had his computer motherboard burn out, so he'll be back to video upgrading in the next 2 weeks.

May 9/09

MW VF Variations Picture Collection had a few VF-11s and VF-1Xs in the wrong folder, so I deleted and made a new collection for upload.

I found 2 more Macross Scrambled Valkyrie Picture Collection game screens mixed in with Macross 2036:

Neld Fleet Incident Picture Collection, so I made two new collections and put them back in the upload queue.

I finished up Macross: M3 picture collection for upload.

I accidentally deleted MW Macross CGI picture collection.

Oops, I'm getting a little tired of sitting in front of my computer.

That just leaves M7, VFX and VFX2 for picture collections.

I've been going over all of iMacross4. Quite a few Macross files appear to have vanished and it's likely that Rapidshare removed the files after a few months of nobody downloading them.

I'll post again when I have these files uploaded.

May 10/09

While looking for pictures to put together for a Mospeada picture collection, I discovered the www.robotechresearch.com website. It's a Robotech fan website, so I didn't expect the mecha names to be accurate. Holy Schmoley!

I found a whole lot of Macross and Mospeada pictures that I didn't expect to find. So, I had to re update the Macross 2036 and M3 picture collections yet again!

I even found some pictures of the Zentradi quadraped mecha from Sega Saturn DYRL.

I'm not sure where to put this picture other than in the Macross Games Picture Collection.

Another picture collection to re do.

I found with the new pictures that I could put together a Macross Mecha Protoype picture collection. I'm not sure if I should just incorporate some of the mecha from the Advanced Valkyrie picture collection or just completely re do both.

I just need to go over the M7 capital ships and I'll be done with M7, VFX, and VFX2.

But now, I just need a break from all of this picture cataloguing today.

If you have downloaded the Macross 2036 picture collections, then you will need to swap the mecha of Shellcair-gar and Rogren-rau pictures with each other.

After watching the few Macross 2036 videos from youtube, I saw that the Shellcair-gar appears in Macross 2036 video.

Seto Kaiba has mentioned that the Rogren-rau and the Manzanip-laa only occur in Macross 2037 Eternal Love Song, while Shellcair-gar appears in both 2036 and 2037.

I mixed up the pictures because I thought that any mecha ending with the suffix -rau would be meltrandi in origin and appearance and so could not have the suffix -gar.

Rapidshare has sent me a notice:

"Your files are currently using more than 25 GB of space.

Please note that on October 20th, 2009 a new method of storage management will come into effect.

If an account is using more than 25 GB, all inactive files associated with that account will be deleted.

Active files (i.e. files that have been downloaded at least once during the last 90 days) will of course not be deleted, regardless of the storage used."

I have over 200 GB, so it's a good thing I made a list of what I uploaded. If you see something posted in this thread that is no longer on iMacross4 rapidshare server and you would like to download, then send me a pm.

iMacross Server Problem

Starting Oct. 20/09:

If a rapidshare account is over 25 gb, the rapidshare will be deleting files that have not been downloaded for 3 months.

This new rapidshare ruling affects both iMacross4 and the Macross Share website whose contents are over 200+gb of Macross files each.

I picked up a megaupload premium account to see if it was possible to transfer the rapidshare files to megaupload.
So far, I've been able to get 430 out of 2300 rapidshare weblinks into a text file, but the megaupload manager refuses to import them for file transfer. 20 different websites have given me information about previous megaupload software settings,but are currently quite useless for multiple rapidshare file transfers.

I've been looking for days on how to find any other megaupload methods or different file websites. For example, avoid using multiupload.com, since the weblinks are wrong or 6kb in file size. It looks like the best I can do is use Megaupload for the >25gb of Macross files or just do upload requests only.

(requested deletion), of Macross Share, has told me that he's been very busy and will not be updating his website after Oct.20/09 without a lot of help. A team would be needed to maintain and manage the Macross Share website.

Update:

I was just looking over the rapidshare website settings.
It might be possible to transfer all the files over to a collector's account, which would reset all the weblinks. Then transfer the collector's account files back to my premium account. Hopefully, that would reset the download timing back to 0 and we would have 3 more months before any files are deledted. After that, I could spend a couple of weeks putting all the files back into their respective folders.

Maybe, I didn't need to spend the $20 for megaupload?

I was looking over rapidshare in my premium account and found that I can transfer all my files to a rapidshare collector's account.

I know last year I transferred over some Macross files from a rapidshare collector's account to my premium account. I originally opened the collector's account to avoid the same rapidshare upload restriction almost 2 years ago. But, I can't remember if the download time limit changed or that I had to put the transferred files back into premium file folder.

For example, I still have a Macross Frontier and a Macross 7 collector's account folder after I transferred the files from collector's to premium account. I don't remember shuffling the files back into the collector's folder and I still can upload premium files and copy them over into the collector's folder. First premium Macross Frontier file added into the collector's account folder on April 6/08 and Macross 7 on August 8/08.

So, I think it's possible to temporarily change over the premium rapidshare files into a collector's account and then back into the premium account to reset the rapidshare restriction. I would might have to copy the files back into the premium folders.

Does this sound right to you?

So, no more uploading to imacross4 rapidshare for this week, until I can get this resolved.

Update:

I uploaded 1 jpeg to my collector's rapidshare account. I'll wait one or two days and transfer the jpeg from the collector's account to my premium account. Rapidshare only offers to transfer all all files at one shot either way to collector's or premium account from what I can read from the website. I'll upload one more file and see if I can be selective when transferring files from collector's to premium for tomorrow.

Update:

One day later and I have transferred the collector's files (2 jpegs) over to my premium account. Unfortunately, the download dates do not change at all. So, if I transfer the premium files into the collector's folder, all the files over 3 months will be deleted. That will be over half of the 200 gb of Macross files. No files will be permanently lost, since I do have back ups.

There is one last chance to renew the files by downloading each file a little bit with File Image Uploader sofware http://z-o-o-m.eu/. I sent $4 yesterday to this guy to get the registration key for the software in order to make the rapidshare link keeper functional. Now, I just have to wait for him to email me with the key and get the rapidshare files updated. This appears legitimate, but we'll just have to see if it will work in time.

From the translated Macross Share forum posting, I think (requested deletion) is saying that currently he's trying to raise funds for his premium Rapidshare account by getting people to get their their own premium rapidshare accounts through a specific weblink that would credit (requested deletion) rapidshare account. That would cut down on his rapidshare server costs.

Last week, I sent (requested deletion) an email about file image uploader software and its file download date renewal function that would bypass rapidshare's current 3 month/25 gb restriction. I'm hoping he found the time to get that done and save the Macross Share files.

Otherwise, it looks like he will be relying on the many people who have downloaded files from Macross Share to take part in making available their rapidshare files on a new Macross Share website. So, that a whole community of Macross file sharers would be sharing through the Macross Share website and not just serviced solely by (requested deletion). He would also need a team of people to keep this new website organized and updated on a regular basis.

After October 20, I think (requested deletion) will write up more specific details of what he'd like for the new Macross Share website.

It looks like I'll be having trouble retaining files on Rapidshare again. It has been almost 3 months since the last time Rapidshare put a time limit of 3 months for files on rapidshare accounts that have over 50gb of files.

I received an email from Rapidshare that the time limit is every 2 months.

Files are going to start disappearing on iMacross4 and Macross Share.

I was not able not able to renew iMacross4 rapidshare download dates with the File Uploader software this time.

Rapidshare was able to block File Uploader for renewing the download dates.

The latest File Uploader sofware does not even have the Rapidshare Link Keeper function.

Possible solutions:

1. FTP server

(Limit to number of people connected at one time: 10-15. Upload rate slowed down by ADSL connection: 50kb/s total. Changing to Shaw Cable ISP is faster, but Shaw does do upload+download caps.)

2. Direct Connect Hub

(Hopefully, it's not as buggy as it was 3 years ago. I couldn't connect to DC hubs half the time and people coundn't connect to me. ADSL upload speed limit.)

3. Gigatorrent files

(With utorrent, you can pick and choose which files you would like to download from within the bittorrent.

Maximum ADSL upload speed 50 kb/s. )

4. MegaUpload

(I would have to upload all the iMacross4 files from my hard drive. There is no batch transfer software for moving files from Rapidshare to Megaupload.)

5. Every 2 months, upload missing files.

I'll make a new directory file of what I have on my hard drive.

Upon request only, I'll upload the missing files to iMacross4 rapidshare server.

6. Usenet ?

I'll have to read up more on that.

7. MIRC ?

Any other ideas?

Update:

I tried jDownloader + Flashgot for Mozilla web browser for a batch download of 300 files from iMacross4. Rapidshare recognized my ip address and so the last download date remains the same for all 300 files: Oct. 14/09. That's the last time that File Uploader was able to renew the download dates.

Rapidshare has lowered server limit to 25 gb or 3 month time limit for files that don't get downloaded.

I had 250gb and now it's 130gb.

So, I'm just going to do some re-organizing and backing up of Macross Files that I have now.

True Love Song, yeah, I remember that one. Not so much a game, as dating simulator with ages and ages of text before you get to "play" anything. And it's just some strategy simulation thing, like the PC-98 ones. Kind of boring. I think there was a thread in the Games forum, though.

EDIT -- 2043? I don't remember that, I thought I saw the SDF1 Macross in there somewhere, and VF-1's. Huh. Well, I ain't going back to check! I played it on the PSP and it crashed the system somehow.

iMacross4 is currently at 94 gb, 822 files. Rapidshare has shaken out a lot of files, so their new maximum capacity for

premium rapidshare is 500gb. I'm not sure if there is still that 3 month time limit on files though.
