Omegablue Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Actually it was me that was trying to share my views and it was you that try to discount it by saying that we're all whiners and Bandai doesn't warrant critism. Then you go on about how you have better uderstanding of toys than anyone else as if we've never seen or invested money on them before. Then you called me a dick... haha... fail on all sides there. Oi, this is now getting monotonous… My apologies dear "moderator" sir… and if you look over there, there’s a huge ‘Whatever’ sign lifting towards your direction.
badboy00z Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I hope we see more stuff at Wonderfest. When's that going to be?
Tober Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 When's that going to be? Summer Wonder Festival starts this weekend.
Fort Max Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Summer Wonder Festival starts this weekend. I love this time of year, it's just one event after another.
Omegablue Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 (edited) you're forgiven... And you're also forgiven... Edited August 1, 2008 by Omegablue
do not disturb Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 bandai does good work but they've never tackled a macross toy of this complexity nor dealt with its never quite satisfied fans. yamato has been in the macross game longer and i still wait for the reviews before purchasing their releases, so i don't see the point of blindly buying something from a company when its their 1st time around. i wish bandai the best of luck but i'll wait for the reviews before plunking down my hard earned cash.
lechuck Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Catching up reading here and would like to bring a contra to this statement here: ... And if you compare to recent toys, Eureka 7 and even Code Geass toys weren't handled well enough despite being popular franchises. I can only hope the VF-25 will be around SOC quality. I won't settle for less. I can't really say for Eureka, but I think you are doing Bandai injustice with the Code Geass merchandise. They are selling a wide variety of stuff, catering to different demographics. You have "In Action offshoot" for smaller budgets (aka Kids), than you have the "Mechanic Collection" addressing the modellers and "Mechanic Complete Model" (like HCM) for the higher end collectors. Considering the only competition out there comes from Mega Houses "Palm Action" stuff, Bandai could of just done one line and call it a day - but they didn't! So just because Bandai screwed up with Macross doesn't mean they screw up with every other franchise out there. But call me nuts, I'm actually more exited about the 1/100 line. Why? Because I'm secretly hoping we finally get some M7 VF-19 variants.
Shaggydog Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I'm a BIG believer in Bandai, but I think it's impossible to disagree with the 'wait and see' approach. Every company, including Bandai, has made crappy toys at one time or another. I personally think Bandai will nail it the first time, and the pix look great to me (I neither subscribe to nor fully understand the concepts of 'anime accuracy' or 'aggressive design' as they seem to be used around here, I think they're just elaborate ways of justifying personal taste, which is something that should not need justification). I've got them both preordered already. But anyone who waits til the reviews are out before buying a $100+ toy is just smart, simple as that. Hats off to ya.
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 But call me nuts, I'm actually more exited about the 1/100 line. Why? Because I'm secretly hoping we finally get some M7 VF-19 variants. I want to know what Bandai was hiding on their blog...that teaser thing were they covered up what could be a VF-19 photo.... 1/100 line will be more affordable so if its perfect transformation I will pick up more of those, and for the DX's I will just pick up my favorites. Sumdumgai Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Considering the only competition out there comes from Mega Houses "Palm Action" stuff, Bandai could of just done one line and call it a day - but they didn't! Bandai owns Megahouse though, don't they? I'm going with the wait and see approach, because the 1/60 VF-25 looks chunky and has wonky proportions from what we've seen. I don't have enough faith in their design team to plunk down my money without having seen anything. Just as I don't have enough faith in Yamato's first runs to put down money (though they have improved in my eyes).

David Hingtgen Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Forget yet more -19's, let's hope they use the 1/100 for more obscure stuff that there's almost no chance we'll see in 1/72 or 1/60. Like a VF-11MAXL Kai. Valks with boobs!

Like a VF-11MAXL Kai. Valks with boobs! When they make a VF-19S targeted towards collectors, I will be satisfied. With that said, VF-3000 FTW.

Master Dex Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 When they make a VF-19S targeted towards collectors, I will be satisfied. With that said, VF-3000 FTW. I don't care for the redesign of the VF-19S over the original YF-19 and VF-19A (which the same as the YF with a new color). It isn't bad though, I just like the original wings more. I'd also like to see a VF-22. As much as the YF-21 is cool, I was always more partial to the VF-22.
Ignacio Ocamica Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 When they make a VF-19S targeted towards collectors, I will be satisfied. With that said, VF-3000 FTW. Yes, the VF-3000 is in my top five list!!! Nobody seems to care about it, or did you mean VF-5000
eugimon Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 make the vf-5000! I don't care who! make it make it make it!
lechuck Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 (edited) Well my ideal M7 lineup would be - VF-19S - VF-19F - VF-17D - VF-11D - VF-5000G I could care less about those "cirque du soleil" variants that Basara and the gang use. Edited August 2, 2008 by lechuck
Scream Man Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Bandai makes a lot of successful stuff, so i have decided to have some hope in them. i already buy their Saint Seiya and Gundam stuff, i dont see why Id pass on my fav anime series...

Vegas Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 (edited) make this one with basara! Edited August 3, 2008 by Vegas Valkyrie
Black Valkyrie Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I don`t think so, may be they`ll reissue the 1/65.
Sumdumgai Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Woah, that's one hell of a wonky VF-19. The wings are HUGE, and the back is squashed, with enormous shoulders, and massive stubby legs. I kind of doubt we'll see any new updated Macross 7 stuff from Bandai. M7 came and went. Now is the time of Frontier.
UN Spacy Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I hope Bandai shows off the DX VF-25 at Wonderfest.....this thread sure has gone south.
badboy00z Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 That's awesome. Is that a modified toy or something?
Vegas Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 That's awesome. Is that a modified toy or something? its probably custom of something. found the pic over the net i like it. way better than any fire valk ive seen
Graham Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 It's probably the SHE VF-19 Fire Valk. Anyway, keep this on topic to Frontier toys please. Graham
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Been sifting through wonderfest threads on other forums, haven't found anything yet.
David Hingtgen Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I haven't found anything either---either Bandai's not showing anything for Frontier beyond the big ad/poster for the 1/72 kit, or they're holding them for later.
badboy00z Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Only thing I've seen so far is a loli Klan figure.
lechuck Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 More Macross Frontier stuff: GA Graphic posted a brief report giving minor details about the new Bandai robot line: Robot Damashii (Robot Spirits). This new line will feature 12 cm ABS/PVC figures with POM joints. The lineup will include mecha from Gundam 00's second season, Macross F, Code Geass, and Eureka Seven. - Courtesy of Gunota So can this be considered the "1/100" line or is this something entirely different?
