Sumdumgai Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Hidaka Noriko and her jubblies ftw! Well considering that Bandai is the big sponsor for MF, they may have a really big veto right on who else can get the license. According to Graham, Yamato doesn't have it yet, and that does not bode well. Of course that could change without him being able to tell us...
ruskiiVFaussie Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 atlast!!! something to make me piss myself laughing! been a long time coming on this forum guys. Thanks Maximiria.
big F Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Ignore the gaijin fanbase that thinks they are important and bigger than they really are, true. Cater to the japanese fans that haven't shown huge demand for Macross 7 toys, yes. And with no anniversary or big media event in years past to support it, Bandai would do that why? 15th anniversary for Macross 7 is next year, if Bandai still holds the 7 license and aims to do something, it will most likely be by then. Unlike Gundam, Macross is not on every year. Very true but you have to remember that Bandai is an international company and is responsible for the disrabution in the western world of quite a lot of Anime titles and such. Therefore they are very aware of the Gaijin market and its demand for products both Subs of anmie and plastic colectables. Remember also that they have facilities all over the world. If they do do the franchise justice and produce SOC quaility and PF Grade stuff then all it will do is make Yamato, Hasegawa and others up their game, In the long run we will benifit from that.
Guest sh002 Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 i'm going to wait and see what bandai puts out cause for me either way it will be a, "i told you so or i knew it."
warrhead Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 i'm going to wait and see what bandai puts out cause for me either way it will be a, "i told you so or i knew it." Wait, I don't have time to re-read the last 10 pages, so is it confirmed that Bandai will be producing toys for this show?
Dante74 Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Wait, I don't have time to re-read the last 10 pages, so is it confirmed that Bandai will be producing toys for this show? No, but because they're a major sponsor for the show, the probably have first dibs on the license.
miriya Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Maybe a better question than who will make the VF-25 and VF-171 is WHEN will anyone make them? Even if Bandai does have some sort of exclusive license (which we do not know if they do or not), when do you think they will make them? I mean, the show has not even started yet (aside from the first episode sneak preview). Would they wait for a few months or a whole season to see if the show is successful before they make one? Would they make one that comes out when the show comes out so that people can start consuming immediately? If the show is not as successful as they hoped for would they abandon their license or give it up to Yamato and if so how long is that going to be? I am guessing that they will make these right away or not at all. What do you all think?
Valkyrie addict Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I want Hasegawa to get the license for the models... cheap quality stuff
miriya Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I want Hasegawa to get the license for the models... cheap quality stuff That would be great. not "cheap quality" but "good quality and inexpensive", right?
wolfx Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Hasegawa has always had the model license don't they? Don't think its an issue.
big F Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Hasegawa has always had the model license don't they? Don't think its an issue. I hope so at least then there will be scale and conform to the collection on my shelves.
wolfx Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Well at least they always had for the non-transforming models. Bandai has the transforming models for Mac7 and MacII so I wonder if they'll make them again for Macross F.
Rhapsodyred99 Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Well at least they always had for the non-transforming models. Bandai has the transforming models for Mac7 and MacII so I wonder if they'll make them again for Macross F. Hassegawa has some amazing kits, if they transformed, and I had the talent god gave a rock I would buy them up and never buy another yamato... The VF-0S reactive armored model is amazing.
Spiff Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Oh a yamato vf-0s reactive armor would just be awesome! I am not so fond of the vf-25 design so bandai has never really taken macross toys too seriously. But with the success yamato has found with the line that could change. But there are still far, far fewer macross fans than fans of the other shows that Bandai makes great toys for. So I wouldn't hold your breath.
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 But there are still far, far fewer macross fans than fans of the other shows that Bandai makes great toys for. Even fewer for Ideon and Aquarion and look what they did with them. I am not so fond of the vf-25 design so bandai has never really taken macross toys too seriously. 1/72 HCM VF-1 from the mid 80's does things which companies today have still yet to replicate.
Cyrhax Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Well guys, I guess we've the answer to the question...I believe Bandai will be in charge But the display stand for the fighter looks a lot like Yamato to me though 1/72 scale. credits goes to Yesou from Ikki63
CF18 Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I wonder if that is a model, toy, or both? The two with no fast packs are standing on standard Bandai MG stands for 1:100 Gundams, but the one with fast (or armour?) pack is using the stand that is identical to the one included in Soul Spec Dragonar-1. Models at 1:72 should be great - most old Bandai and Hasegawa models are 1:72 scales.
Kyp Durron Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 So are these for the modelers then? If so, then that sucks balls for the rest of us. -Kyp
justvinnie Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Better they be models in 1/72 than toys. All the Hasegawas are 1/72 IIRC. Toys need to be in 1/60 to fit in with existing primary Macross toy line. vinnie
miriya Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 This is so exciting! What a week for macross. I am loving the VF-25 fighter with FP!!! They do look like 1/72 models to me. I want that "Scramble" tee shirt!
Mr March Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Bandai. Hmmm. I'm not sure what to make of all this. Not much of a collector, so I don't know if this is good news or bad news. Hopefully, Bandai will make some transformables.
Vifam7 Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 (edited) I think this pic answers everyone's question: Pic came from here: http://ga.sbcr.jp/mreport/009233/14.html The back poster says: DX Chogokin Macross F series Other info I can read: 1/60 scale perfect transformation First mech: VF-25 (Alto) 2nd mech: VF-25 (Ozuma) Release date: not yet available I don't understand why some are whining about one company or another making MacF toys and presuming one will suck and other won't. Every toy company has had it's bombs and successes. Never did understand the whole company loyalty thing. I take everything case by case, toy by toy, using my own set of standards. Thanks for the photo and the translation! I am very excited that the VF-25 perfect transformation is already in the works! I will definitly give bandai a chance and probably lots of money too. But this must be a really crude mock up if it is going to be perfect transformation at 1/60. Edited February 24, 2008 by miriya
crasis Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 YES!!! I'm so happy they kept it in 1/60 scale. I was convinced that if Bandai did anything at all, they'd do it in some odd scale, just to differentiate themselves from Yamato. This is great news. I love my Yamatos, but I'd love to see a chogokin modern valk. My god, I can't take all the good news today. Heh.

CF18 Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 (edited) This is the best news since we learn Bandai will handle Macross F. DX Chogokin is their high-end line - they finally have a chance to give Macross the products it deserves. EXO Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 holy crap! This IS awesome news. Now we get too see how Bandai will handle valks with modern technology... And this is more reason to get the new Yamato 1/60 VF-1 line.
OmegaD3k Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Fantastic news!! I can't wait for Valks which aren't VF-1!

promethuem5 Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 This is stupendous news! Chogokin valks in the same scale as everything else can only end well!
EXO Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I think they're suppose to be bigger than both... not sure. I want the Stampede Skull Leader!
miriya Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Well if it is like the Aquarion Chogokins then we are probably looking at a $185 - $220 price range, I am guessing.
