ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 (edited) http://www.hlj.com/product/FNMSW-09 No pic, i'd love to see this completed, that'd be huge! I already have the 1/72 scale (along with the T/Intercepter, Obi's JSFighter) by F/Molds, and have no desire to get this one. Anyone got pics?? Edited September 25, 2007 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
Warmaker Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I have quite a number of FM's 1/72 Star Wars lineup. X-Wing, both TIEs, Jedi Starfighter, and I'm waiting on the Y-Wing to arrive. I'm quite happy with the lineup so far but I was expecting more movie craft to make it in 1/72 first then going to another scale. But then again, we're talking 1/48 scale, which is my preferred aircraft scale. I will most definitely snag it up. Some movie ships I wish FM would do: A-Wing, B-Wing, TIE Advanced, TIE Bomber, Imperial Shuttle, Mon Cal.Cruiser, and of course, a Star Destroyer to round out the Original Trilogy ships. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 25, 2007 Author Posted September 25, 2007 (edited) I want them to do an AT-ST most of all! Imperial Shuttle with working front loading belly door would be awesome. edit - front loading belly door. >< Edited September 25, 2007 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
Warmaker Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 HLJ has it officially listed now for Preorder at $38.66US. FM's 1/48 X-Wing Quote
Sumdumgai Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 If it comes with a pilot, I wonder if he'll fit in a VF-1... or if a VF-1 pilot will fit in an X-wing... hmmmm... Quote

But good that they have placed some pics up. I don't see the need for such a large scale when the only benefit is the removable R2. I have the Saga X-Wing (dagobah luke jedi lift version), it's bigger than this, and it's bad ass. ---> http://www.hlj.com/product/FNMSW-09 <--- No pic, i'd love to see this completed, that'd be huge! bsu legato Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I don't see the need for such a large scale when the only benefit is the removable R2. Funny..I would have thought that the larger scale in and of itself would be a benefit. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 28, 2007 Author Posted September 28, 2007 speaking for myself i should have added, but after you own 2 x-wings that's way enough >_< Quote
reddsun1 Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 so when do we get pics of a built-up X-Wing next to a 1/48 Yammie? oh yeah, whatever happened to that ltd run of large scale X-Wings that were supposedly made "using molds taken from the original SW movie props" [what were they called again]? I imagine they were somewhat larger stilll than 1/48? Quote
Warmaker Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 The large scale, limited run X-Wings were supposed to be studio scale from Master Replicas. There was a message put out by MR's newsletters that the project was cancelled. It didn't surprise me that the studio scale X-Wing was canx since news earlier this year that Master Replicas and another company were not able to renew their license from Lucasfilm (or whoever controls the licensing issues) when 2008 rolls around. My guess was that the license holders wanted more money than before, but that's just my cynical self. I was actually looking forward to the MR X-Wing. The only MR studio scale item I have is the AT-AT which is nice. But with the canx'ing of the MR X-Wing, I hope the SW model range gets enlarged in variety (and scale too?)... maybe Fine Moulds? I prefer the models by FM than Revell's, and by far over the old Ertl ones (which I avoid). Quote
Sumdumgai Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 From what I was reading, Lucasfilms wanted some changes made to what MR was doing with the X-wing. The factory in China couldn't retool in the amount of time needed, so they dropped it. Quote
Warmaker Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Yeah. I really didn't hear anything about the MR X-Wing until late summer of this year. So, if changes needed to be made before the license ends with 2007, it would be no surprise the project got the axe. Quote
