pandaren Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 (edited) Hihi~~ Just some own opinion~~ hope u dun mind~ Actually agree wit Sdf-1, the eyes should be more small n darker. I hv try use this as reference then use photoshop make some touch up. So here is wat I hv done" 1) Of cause the eyes will reduce bit small. White area can try bit less also. Or the iris make more darker. 2) The end of the eyebrows can try move bit lower or make it more straight so look more hesitation 3) As well as lips, make more straight or slightly smile~~ Misa lips should be very small i think. 4) Can add more thick for hair behind of her, I saw every reference the back side for her hair look more higher in every angel... not sure how look like if make it to 3D sculpt. 5) Can add few slice of hair to make it more like the reference. Or reduce some or make it short for left hair side . Hope you dun mind bout it and sorry for my poor english~~~ Edited October 13, 2007 by pandaren Quote
Ryuji Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 Thanks for advices! I will try these modifications, but first i will make a "backup copy" So, in case of disaster (a made a lot in some projects in the past ) I can try again in a new copy. Quote
valkyrie13 Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Nice man~~ Finally u decide make curve hair?~~ Hahah.. just wan suggest u make 2 type can change hair~ so those ppl can put which they like I second this. Ryuji, can we get two versions of the hair? DYRL version and the TV version? Quote
Mercurial Morpheus Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 (edited) Looking good, though I agree that the face and hair need work. Remember that if you use the early TV hair with her curls, the back is curled up too. It rests right above the top point of the W. Uncurled, it's actually to her waist. You've got a mish-mash at the moment, and it's too short for the time period. As for the uniform, the lineart in Perfect Memory has it how you have it, a W shape. Having designed a costume myself, I can tell you that the straight edge should go to the armpit, and the points are around a 70-80 degree angle, though you can go wider depending on how it comes out, but probably no more than 100. The back is much longer than the front. Edited October 13, 2007 by Mercurial Morpheus Quote
Ryuji Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) Changed uniform back (used Claudia's uniform as reference) Edited November 20, 2007 by Ryuji Quote
thegunny Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Looking good so far but is it possible to close the hand up and make it straighter? At the moment she looks more as if she's waving instead of saluting. Quote

ruskiiVFaussie Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) This may be the first un painted kit i'll buy lol. I third that, 2 versions of hair would be awesome Edited October 16, 2007 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
thegunny Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 like the reference? The reference pic is of Minmay. She's not military so her salutes are going to look like she's waving or flicking her hair away but Misa is military and I'm pretty sure if you watch all her salutes she won't be flopping around like that. Quote
valkyrie13 Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 I believe that in the last episode of SDFM (TV series), Misa gives a salute to Hikaru right before she takes off. Of course, she is stopped short by the rogue Zentradi air raid and Hikaru catches up to her. That "salute" she gave was a memorable moment and the angle of her forearm is a lot more vertical. She has her hand in a straight line with her thumb tightly pressed against the side of her hand and not hanging loose. That scene I believe would be a good reference point. Hope this helps. Quote
Ryuji Posted October 16, 2007 Author Posted October 16, 2007 (edited) She is just in an informal pose...not in a military ceremony. Edited October 16, 2007 by Ryuji Quote
the white drew carey Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 She is just in an informal pose...not in a military ceremony. Yeah, but you want to stay true to character. Misa was a military kid and a hard-nosed officer as well. Most probably, she would instinctively flash a proper salute even if she was trying to be casual. Quote
thegunny Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 She is just in an informal pose...not in a military ceremony. Hey it's just an observation I'd be more likely to buy one if she was "chucking a bone" (saluting) than if she just looked like she was swatting flies Quote
Skull-1 Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Hey it's just an observation I'd be more likely to buy one if she was "chucking a bone" (saluting) than if she just looked like she was swatting flies Ditto. I want her in the proper military bearing, not like some lame actor PRETENDING to be... Quote
valkyrie13 Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Ryuji, tough crowd here on MW, isn't it? But I believe every one voicing their opinions are being true to their feelings and their love for Macross. It it's not too much trouble, please show us the revised hand/arm pose for the salute. I am sure you will be able to manage this superbly. Thanks again for making this happen! Quote
Ryuji Posted October 17, 2007 Author Posted October 17, 2007 Finished today to make a "back up mold". Tomorrow I will make a copy and start the modifications. Quote
Zinjo Posted October 18, 2007 Posted October 18, 2007 Finished today to make a "back up mold". Tomorrow I will make a copy and start the modifications. Always a pleasure to watch you work brother!! Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted November 6, 2007 Posted November 6, 2007 I'm sure her face will look awesome man, can't wait! umm, any way she can be pointy in the right spots??? Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 looking good... personally I think Misa looks great, the eyes and nose depends of what design you are focusing in, but I know you will do a great job any pics of the VF-1 cockpit?? hehe Quote
Ryuji Posted November 11, 2007 Author Posted November 11, 2007 (edited) changed hair to DYRL style, separate from head and paint test. something is wrong and still doesn't look like Misa ... (maybe it's her nose ) Edited November 11, 2007 by Ryuji Quote
Nexx2 Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 she's simply beautyfull , congratulation ! Quote
jardann Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Ryuji, this is shaping up to be your best figure yet! The face is very close imo. I can tell what you mean, that something is not right, but it is very good already, and soo close that it is hard to pinpoint what needs to be modified. The face is closer to DYRL animation than the TV series. Not that you need my advice, but I would make some test castings of the face, and experiment on those a little bit. Fantastic work so far! Good luck and keep working on it. We're all sure you will get it! Quote
KiriK Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 overall it looks good, but i think the hair is off i think. It looks a bit flat and Misa has really poofy hair and then there's those curls at the end too. Her face is good though... =] Quote
Sdf-1 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I think it's very close now. And I think DYRL style is better. Keep doing the great job Ryuji. Quote
Skull-1 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Her thumb should be parallel to the other fingers not bent. Otherwise GORGEOUS. Quote
valkyrie13 Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Haven't been here in a while and what a pleasant surprise. Ryuji, she is looking great. As for the face, it has to be the eyes. It's hard to get Mikimoto's eyes and you will have to leave that to the individual modelers... Quote
Ryuji Posted November 14, 2007 Author Posted November 14, 2007 Thanks for comments! Now I'm building the cockpit - I will back to the figure and make some modifications after. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 Beautiful! Love that ass! Looking great! Quote
Ryuji Posted November 17, 2007 Author Posted November 17, 2007 Cockpit basic detailment. I made using 1,2 and 3 mm plastic sheet. Quote
