zanderwitaz Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 (edited) I think I got most of the detials, except for the little black circle things. should I do the thin black stripe on the arms and backpack? I havent painted the inside of the tail fins, but I'll do that soon. let me know what you think! UPDATE: no, I havent panel lined anything. I added the famous swivel thigh mod to make this an official super poseable valkyrie! wohoo! ball jointed shoulders, ball jointed head, ball jointed thighs, svivel thighs, swivel wrists, independent thruster nozzles. all the joints were tightened up , including the backpack hinge. theres no wobble anywhere in this thing! will post new pics when finished painting. enjoy! valkyrie13 Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Nice. How about some panel-lining? Quote
warpaint22 Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Very nice looks like it came straight from the factory. I guess you have a little more to do as you said, but very nice. Quote
big F Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Looking good. yeah do the pannelines and put the thruster points on too ( little black circle things) Quote
RosarioLuv Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 (edited) That looks so awesome. I want one! How'd you make the head? I still have an original Chris Barreta 1/55 VF-1D head I've never used from like 1998 or so. I'm old. and calling me a procrastinator is rhetorical on MW. zanderwitaz Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 thanks guys. I just scratch built the head. I want to panel line it but im not sure what to use. sometimes I use a mechanical pencil and then I seal the paint on my aircraft models. maybe I'll try that. Quote
Skull-1 Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I like it. Great job. How'd you scratch build the head? Quote
zanderwitaz Posted September 11, 2007 Author Posted September 11, 2007 I like it. Great job. How'd you scratch build the head? good ol' styrene and patience. the lasers are made from vf-1s lasers sanded down drastically. then I added styrene tubing and paper clips for various thickness. Quote

I would recommend a gundam marker with the "bocasi" pen (which helps you erase the excess). Quote
warpaint22 Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 One of the best things for panel lines are Copic markers. They are an achole base marker and the panel markers are 0.02mm thick, very fine. You can get them in black, grey and olive green. They really are great to use and if you slip just use a cotton tip to wipe it off just do it straight away. I order mine from HLJ at about 230yen each.
