Metal Armor Dragonar

Know this is an old release - but I finally picked up a Bandai SPEC Dragonar Opening Sihouette.

Also have the limited release SPEC 'Dragoon' on the way too, which brings my line up to 6.

What a great piece, and can be had at great prices now. Can't say it better than Colection DX if someone wants to read more:

( - *sigh* spec line - wish you had lasted - )

HOLY HECK! I not only thought this was vapor-ware --- I thought the whole SPEC line was dead.

This showed up on eBay pre-order this morning, but nothing on Yahoo Japan? Strange.

Anyway - the world will get the really UNIQUE Gilgazamune after all . . .

It's on Bandai's Tamashii webpage. April 2014 release it says.

So let me get this straight --

You can get an all plastic RS version for $125 ---

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=BAN16399&mode=retail

OR

A half die-cast version with awesome packaging for $115 ---

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bandai-Chogokin-Spec-XS-11-XFMA-09-Draguna-Falguen-JP-/351375603726?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51cf9e380e

??

The SPEC version is an AMAZING piece. Not sure what appeal the RS has other than for completists . . .

I don't like the sculpt of the Robot Spirit figures. Waaay too skinny at the waist IMO.

I bought a 1/100 Dragonar kit 30 years ago that I still haven’t built, but I’m still definitely interested in this kit.

The 1/100 kit has some weird proportions. I think the old 1/144 kits are actually more show-accurate. It's a bit tempting to get this to compare with the original, but I've already got way too many kits...

I'm pretty sure 'too many' is still not enough for us. ;)

Looks like moderoid is doing a Dragonar kit as well. Saw these on taghobby. I really liked the hg kit that Bandai did recently, but knowing Bandai, that may be the only kit they do from the line. If Moderoid does more than just the Dragonar 01, I’ll probably buy into themIMG_2207.jpeg.f7beb55741011de145ee46123b72f731.jpegIMG_2208.jpeg.20a422569eabafed67f6567985e144c5.jpeg

Please tell me this will be 1/100 scale. Aside from the usual candidates, a Falguen and Gilgazamune would be great to have.

But with the three HMR Dragonars being very good representations, I find it difficult to get excited about model kits now.
