Mr March Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 That first video is just plain tragic. The second video is very strange. The voice sounds so synthesized. Quote
Smiley424 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 WOW, that's all I can say about the first video. Respect to those guys for going out on stage and doing that in front of such a big crowd. Most respect to Gerwalk guy cuz he actually showed his face. Would've been better if Regult guy did the Minmei side to side dance Quote
miriya Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 (edited) That ROCKED!!!! Kind of. Than Konig monster suit looked heavy to stand in. I do not know why that one guy tried to do falsetto at the end part. He just did not hit the notes! But yeah, those guys are pretty brave. Looked like a big crowd and a small applause. I did not like the virtual reality karaoke video. I prefer Marii's voice. Edited August 26, 2007 by miriya Quote
MechTech Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I saw this up on the boards and popped in. Mari Iijima would either be honored or insulted. In private she would laugh - A LOT; like I did! Those dudes got some intestinal fortitude! I thought I was a hard core fan, but you can guess where I draw the line . All battlepods in the house make some noise!!! The location of the microphone for the monster was funny too! Those are probablt the same guys building models that we see links to and say, "that's awesome man!" The ALL synthesized video was probably a good college project for someone. - MT Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 hmmm...I'm a fan and all, but some people take it WAY too far...I can accept dressing up for Halloween or a Cosplay convention, but damn...that's just plain sad..., I wonder what goes thru those guys mind as they perform? Quote

valkyrie13 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 The 2nd video uses a software called "VOC@LOID", which creates synthesized vocals for songs. It's possible since Japanese use very discreet syllables that match each Katakana character. I guess it's a primitive version of Sharon Apple... Quote
Sorata Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 (edited) The second vid is video of a japanese Xbox 360 game called Idolm@ster. It actually has some gamer pics up on the american xbox live marketplace and I plan to buy the game if they bring it over here, recently its creator said he would like to bring it to the US. (yeah I know... you dont have to say it) EDIT oh yeah and the first vid scared me for life. Edited August 27, 2007 by Sorata Quote
Ishimaru Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 God have mercy on them... Has anyone actually seen a good macross cosplay, I mean like seriously with the pilot suits, I'm talking about DYRL and Plus looking pilot suits. Quote
Lonewolf Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Well I can't watch them, but from I read above, I'm not missing much. Quote
azrael Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Has anyone actually seen a good macross cosplay, I mean like seriously with the pilot suits, I'm talking about DYRL and Plus looking pilot suits. Have you seen some of our Chinese members? http://photo.163.com/photos/danahby/111974444/#p1 Quote
valkyrie13 Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Have you seen some of our Chinese members? http://photo.163.com/photos/danahby/111974444/#p1 Nice costumes. The person posing for Minmay is cute but not enough to be the galactic super idol! Quote
isamu Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 OH NOES IVE BEEN MACROLLED!!! We don't deserve to call ourselves Fans. Seriously. If I was living in Japan I'd of been right up on stage with them!!! Quote
Apollo Leader Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Now this is really interesting... Enjoy! The first video is a riot! A few months ago there was video posted on Youtube of these three comedians who did virtually the same thing dressed up as the Gundam, Guntank, and Guncannon and they were singing "Soldiers of Sorrow" from the second Gundam movie. This has to be the same guys! (Unfortunately I can not find the Gundam video anymore since they took it down ) As for the second video, I don't know about the audio, but the graphics are definitely a custom use of the Idolm@ster for the 360. Apollo Leader Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Here's a link to Kotaku which had an article on the live performance of those Japanese comedians dressed as the Gundam, Guntank, and Guncannon. You can see one frame of the one guy dressed as the guncannon. http://kotaku.com/gaming/clip/gundam-live-...cert-265025.php Quote
Max Jenius Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 There was a halfway decent Millia cosplayer a few years back. The uniform was top notch, the chick iirc was meh... but at least she wasn't a hambeast. Quote
s001 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 OMG What's wrong with this japanese guys hehehehehe Quote
KiriK Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 dude... those are awesome cosplay outfits!! haha... i'm inspired.... the monster is great... Quote
DemonPlay Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 (edited) OMG wtf..... I can't stop laughing about the first vid that's really cruel, but I like the background walker and yes... the monster rocks ^^ Edited October 6, 2007 by DemonPlay Quote
