To me it looks just like another Orguss mecha, although I never saw the entire series. No i don`t think you need it. Save money for the SV-51 and the YF-21:)

not that particular mecha but in the later episodes of SDF-1 macross(aka robotech), the orguss does make an appearance in the background of a space battle scene.

anyway, this is not part of the macross universe in anyway.

lol, I had that one when I was little. Didn't have clue what series it was from back then. Now I have to debate wether or not to buy it for nostalgia sake

The auction is not even for a vintage Takatoku-made Orguss toy. It's for one of the recently released PVC 'Palm Action' figures by Megahouse. It's a puny toy (they don't call it 'Palm Action' for nuthin') Not really worth $37USD.
