Wicked Ace Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I thought the real-life VX-9 Vampires squadron vertical stailizer art was appropriate for my dark colored -19. I'm glad to finally get the pieces of this one off my table. First off, fighter mode pics: Quote

Vermillion21 Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Wow, an amazing custom Wicked Ace!!!! I hope Yamato releases a stealth VF-19 someday .... Quote
Dante74 Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 If Yamato ever do a YF-19 like this, I'll jump on it! Beautiful! Quote
David Hingtgen Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I recall getting a PM from you a while ago asking for VX-9 logos---did anything I send help? Quote
Wicked Ace Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 (edited) I recall getting a PM from you a while ago asking for VX-9 logos---did anything I send help? Yes, and thank you (again and again) for all your help. What you sent me actually went on a VF-1 "Stealth" of mine; the VF-1 for obvious reasons reminds me of the black F-14 Tomcat. Also, the "Vampires" art appeared on the F-14's replacement, F/A-18E "Super Hornet," so it wasn't much of a stretch for me (in a Macross state of mind) to carry the Vampires theme over to the -19. Wicked Ace Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 And, thanks to everyone for their kind replies. Quote
eugimon Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 GD, that is some great work! I think it blows the vf-1 yamato stealth scheme just clean out of the water. Quote
Sumdumgai Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Holy crap, that 19 is so mindblowingly awesome! Great custom, wicked ace! Now, I really hope Yamato puts out a Stealth VF-19A... Quote
Graham Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Can we add that to the MW custom toy gallery? Graham Quote
ikhii Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 OMG!... this is one black beauty that i will surely grab if it's in the shops. Fantastic color and i would surely think of doing it on my VF-0s. Quote
eugimon Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Can we add that to the MW custom toy gallery? Graham forget the customs gallery, show it to yamato. have them ask wicked if they can release it as a low viz paint scheme and pay him for his work Quote
Wicked Ace Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 Can we add that to the MW custom toy gallery? Graham As always with any custom I post pics of, you can place in the MW custom toy gallery. However, I do intend to follow the directions spelled out in the pinned "What Customs . . ." thread; a friend of mine, who is a way better photographer (and has a way better camera), has promised to take photos of this custom. When he follows through, I'll post the "good" photos in the appropriate thread (as per the instructions). Quote
odr78 Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I WANT THE SAME You 've done a great job..... Very beautifull VF-19 stealth.... Quote
wolfx Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Very awesome pics WickedAce. I think it'll look awesome and more "Vampiry" if you made the visor red. My 2 cents. Quote
sqidd Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 That sucker is sweeeeeeeeet! Are you interested in getting paid to do another? Quote
big F Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I always thought out of all the non cannon Vf1 yammies the Stealth was the best, just goes to show I was right and the Vf 19 is as good as a Stealth. Yamato have to do one I think. Quote
dizman Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Wow, very nice custom and great work! I'd probably buy one. Quote
Mr March Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Bloody brilliant WA! That is absolutely one of the best customs I've ever seen. I wouldn't think that a black and grey color scheme would look so good on the YF-19, but for some reason it suits this mecha more than almost any other I've sever seen in similar fan-favorite-black-colors. This is simply amazing work. Wow! Quote
DyNo Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I think I might have to buy another YF-19 and do the same... I can't stop looking at this one! Quote
Sumdumgai Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Very awesome pics WickedAce. I think it'll look awesome and more "Vampiry" if you made the visor red. My 2 cents. You know what? I was thinking the exact same thing, wolfx. Quote
Vic Mancini Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 This black scheme looks especially fantastic in B-mode. I think it's because it helps to hide some of the unsightly grooves/chunks that Yamato had to take out of the thighs to make the F-mode fit together flat. The legs look almost thicker, or more proportionately correct at least, in that dark colour. I was personally rooting for Yamato to do some kind of low vis non cannon scheme instead of a stealth or supernova, but this custom is really swaying my opinion right now. Quote
Awacs Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 That is a very, very nice custom. Makes my one attempt at a repainted Valkyrie look even shoddier than it actually is (which I didn't think was possible). The colour scheme works really well on the -19. Makes me want to get a Hasegawa -21 and see what it would look like on that. Karl Quote
