The New Macross will be released??? HAHAHAHA~~~ You've mistranslated. MBS is changing the broadcast time for M7 for November and December, starting from Nov. 7th; the new time being "27:05 to 27:35". M7 won't be shown on Nov. 14th. I'm guessing it has something to do with Sichi-go-san, on the 15th. EDIT: checked the MBS homepage. Going to change my guess to: preempted by the "Dunlop Pheonix Tournament." If that's Pheonix, Arizona, and it's being broadcast live, it sounds about right for the time slot. http://www.mbs.jp/event/ Edited November 2, 2007 by sketchley

kensei Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Hmmm....seems like they are focusing on a solo act rather than a band this time. Wonder who the enemy is. Can't wait to see it.
Mr March Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) The new Valkyrie! VF-25! SV-51, VF-5000 and YF-19 all rolled into one I like it! WOW! Thank you kresphy! Edited November 7, 2007 by Mr March
kensei Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) Animation doesn't look half bad either. Really up to today's standards. Macross Zero-y in terms of Mecha, but Gundam Double O-ish in terms of animated characters. Love the Hikaru scheme. He LIVES!!!! Seems funny to go back to a design that so closely resembles the Zero and Valkyrie though. Edited November 7, 2007 by kensei
MacrossCN Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) BTW サラ・ノーム//Sara Nome マオ・ノーム//Mao Nome シェリル・ノーム//Shery Nome Is this the first same name in Macross Series??? =。 = early design Is this Michelle Blanc? This is GIRL name, but she like a BOY... BOY or GIRl?? = = Alto?? VF-25?? Edited November 7, 2007 by kresphy
Dante74 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Thanks for the pics kresphy but... We need better hi-rez scans!
chrono Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Ranka Lee meet pilot training student Alto *groans* "Macross School Days...." *wheres the puke icon when you need it...* Well since the one characters name is Nome is hope that the 'evil space aliens' pull a Muv Luv Alt on her and make her NOM NOM'd... Looks like a 'brooding, semi-emo' male lead and a genki girl... how typical. And WTF! is up with the even more elf'ed ears!?!? The zen/hybrids going to be space elves now? ANOTHER colony fleet!!! BLARGH! Hope they crash the ships soon, because the dessie's didn't get alot of love in M7 and only a little in M0.
sketchley Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 シェリル・ノーム//Shery Nome Sheruru. Cheryl would be a closer approximation.
Zinjo Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Love the character designs! I was hopeful when I read Yûichi Takahashi, who worked on Eureka 7 & Ergo Proxy, was one of the designers working on it. I agree with Marchy, nice new Valk (love the designation of "VF-25", nice nod to the anniversary without being blatant), nothing too radically different from established designs and definitely a newer application of the main VF-19 fuselage. Considering that the events of Mac Zero would have been released to public knowledge by then and it would be fairly common knowledge, I am intrigued as to how they'll do it. It leads me to wonder if they are going to show a first contact with either the PC or SA? WOW, 10 mil people! That's 10 City 7's worth of colonists... I wonder if that includes the military escorts? Yes higher res designs would be greatly appreciated! Which month of Japanese Newtype is it?
MacrossCN Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Sheruru. Cheryl would be a closer approximation. Thanks In this pic, there is a S, so I think 雪露 is Shery Sure, maybe it is Sheruru, wait Official Name hehehe ^^
terry the lone wolf Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Thanks for the scans Kresphy! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO totally unimpressed by this; all the delays for this....Wake me when Shoji finally retires & turns the franchise over to Shinji Aramaki....YAWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN......
azrael Posted November 7, 2007 Author Posted November 7, 2007 Now before anybody quotes anything else from 2ch...can we actually have someone TRANSLATE the god-damn magazine article first?
Mr March Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) Oh yeah Zenjoy, I llike that little subtle reference to the Macross 25th Anniversary. I adore the design and those classic Hikaru colors are so sick! Loving it! I'm wondering, what are those small little protrusions on the front wing roots? Reverse vernier thrusters? Gun ports? Navigation lights? It's difficult to tell from the blurry pictures, but do the wings fold on the back? I'm not sure they do. In fact, I think rather than parallel, the wings might mount perpendicular on the back? Maybe? It's so cool to see all the different influences from Kawamori's other designs. I love how he continually refines design elements he likes and then adds new design elements from real world fighters. The nose of the VF-25 looks similar to the SV-51. The forward fuselage of the VF-25 appears similar to the YF-19/VF-19, as you said. The battroid upper torso is reminicent of the VF-5000. So many questions! I feel so excited about this new show, but I gotta be cautious and skeptical Edited November 7, 2007 by Mr March
Zinjo Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) Well the inclusion of vertical stablizers in GERWALK mode was something that was conspicuously missing from earlier fighter designs and I'm sure SK had to admit that it made the fighter somewhat unstable in that mode. Now that you pointed them out, I see the various elements... My GAWD we need hi res scans!!! Edited November 7, 2007 by Zinjo
UN Spacy Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 THANK YOU for the scans kreshpy! ANY new news is good news to me.
Sumdumgai Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Damn the VF-25 has some pointed knee-guards in battroid! Awesome design though. Not a leap ahead, but something comfortable and familiar, while still progressing. I like it. Character designs look alright. Nothing spectacular, nothing horrible. The guy with blue hair and long ponytail makes me fearful we'll get another Shin-type character.
cyde01 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) Thanks In this pic, there is a S, so I think 雪露 is Shery [/img] Sure, maybe it is Sheruru, wait Official Name hehehe ^^ it could be Sheryl. if it was shery there definitely would not be a katakana "ru" at the end. VF-25 looks clean, but it doesn't look too advanced technologically compared to the 19 and 21!! oh well, it looks good so i shouldn't complain, but it doesn't look super sexy like the 19 and 21. i like that the fighter has a long nose and small, compact fuselage. battroid looks cool. Edited November 7, 2007 by cyde01
Zinjo Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 BTW サラ・ノーム//Sara Nome マオ・ノーム//Mao Nome シェリル・ノーム//Shery Nome Is this the first same name in Macross Series??? =。 = Nope, Edgar LaSalle (M0) & Claudia LaSalle (SDFM), Max Jenius & Mylene Jenius...
Zinjo Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 (edited) VF-25 looks clean, but it doesn't look too advanced technologically compared to the 19 and 21!! oh well, it looks good so i shouldn't complain, but it doesn't look super sexy like the 19 and 21. i like that the fighter has a long nose and small, compact fuselage. battroid looks cool. I'm expecting it to be the main line fighter similar to how the VF-11 was in Mac 7. Considering it is taking place over 20 years after Macross 7, many different fighters would have been developed by then. In the 30 years after SW1, they went from the VF-1 to the VF-22, that is a range of many generations of fighters. It is just as possible that with an emigration fleet containing 10 million people that thousands of fighters would be employed in defence and the VF-25 is cheap and effective. Unlike Mac 7 where there was a new specialty fighter flight of the week, Mac Frontier may require squadrons of special role fighters that we haven't seen yet (assuming the story will even focus on those squadrons). With the size of the fleet this series could run into several seasons, depending on how many stories SK wants to plug into it.... Edited November 7, 2007 by Zinjo
Dante74 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I know this sounds stupid from a toy collectors point of view, but one single fighter model is fine by me. The fact that even the heroes flew "normal"production jets is what makes Macross stand out from other shows.
eugimon Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 the new VF looks cool, not sure about that hunch back thing happening behind the cockpit though. The red and black stripes is just too cool though.
Lonewolf Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 The DYRL Hikaru paint scheme is a nice nod, but I'm otherwise unimpressed with the design of the VF-25, maybe when we see clearer pics of it I'll change my mind.
ruskiiVFaussie Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 YES! VF-25... Hikaru style! Now this is the best news evaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
