Vermillion21 Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 I hope this will be good ... I'd hate to see another cool franchise end on a really lame a$$ note like Matrix and X-Men .... Quote
JsARCLIGHT Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 The chances of this movie NOT kicking ass are as low as I've ever seen. No cop outs on the cast, no cop outs on the directing or writing and from what I can tell so far no cop outs on the timeline or "lore". Quote
Warmaker Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 The Indiana Jones movies hold a very dear spot in my heart. I loved them ever since I was kid. I really hope this comes off right. Quote
Vermillion21 Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I read somewhere that Karen Allen from the 1st movie is back .... but is Sean Connery in it? Quote
Sdf-1 Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I remember reading that Connery didn't want to be in the film. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 A friend of mine (who loves to informed about this sort of things) told me that Karen Allen plays the mother of Indi's son. She's my favorite of all the female characters of the Indiana Jones trilogy, and I was told she still looks amazing, so I'll give it a shot, but "Raiders..." is the only movie of the trilogy I care about, so if I don't like it I'll just ignore it. kung flu Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I don't know what to think, Harrison Ford is quite old now, I'm not sure he might be able to give a good performance as he did when he was younger. If the action is all done by computer it would really ruin it for me. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Yeah, they should just let him die with dignity. Make him disappear from history in the middle of a conflict like Hugo Pratt did with his Corto Maltese in the Mexican Revolution. Quote

Keith Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Come on, it's not like he's fat old Steven Seagal, where they have to shop the same old head from the cover of Under Seige onto a new body for every new film he does. Quote

Old doesn't mean hes fat, but it does mean slow moving, if Harrison can be as quick as he was when he was younger that would be great, but I guest stunt doubles would do that job for him. As for Segal, hes just slow moving in all his movies young and old. Quote

I thought spielberg said that they were going to stay away from CGI and try to do this movie like the other indiana jones movies... besides, they're obviously acknowledging the fact that indi is getting older, so I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. It's not like the highlander movies were mac leod is supposed to stay the same age and it's obvious that the actor is old and tired. Indiana is aging and I'm sure the movie will play with that fact. dizman Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 I really hope that this movie turns out to be good but it will be pretty hard to pull off, Indies old and his son is taking over the family business I guess. Who will be the bad guys this time, neo nazis? Quote
GreenGuy42 Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Yeah.... He said they WERE staying away from heavy CGI to preserve the old feel of the movies. http://entertainmentnow.wordpress.com/2007/07/06/indiana-jones-4-to-be-light-on-cgi/ Quote
scand Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 This better have Harrison Ford as Indie. I give a damn how old he looks! Quote
Sumdumgai Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Yes, Harrison Ford is Indie. No Sean Connery will not be in it (unless his whole announcement was a fake to throw us off). Quote

Cruel Angel's Thesis Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 I remember reading a article where Harrison Ford mentioned he was training to get into shape for his role as Indie. He does want to do most of his stunts like he did in the previous films. So we be in for a movie that won't be all hype and no substance. Cruel Angel's Thesis Quote
Radd Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Just because! Warning, OLD, but funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5uqACYlvvY Quote
UN Spacy Posted July 30, 2007 Author Posted July 30, 2007 I didn't know Shia was in this. This guy's on a roll with his latest movies.... Quote
CoryHolmes Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I'm glad they kept Ford as Indy. It just wouldn't have worked if they'd re-cast the role. Quote
Jeremy007 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 does this still take place in the nazi era, or later...thus explaining the aging? Quote
JsARCLIGHT Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 does this still take place in the nazi era, or later...thus explaining the aging? It's supposed to take place in the '50s and have something to do with nuclear testing from what I've heard. Quote
EXO Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I think he's hunting for his special bottle of Geritol. Quote
JsARCLIGHT Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Finding that Grail again is looking pretty darn appealing to Indy right now... mostly to dump over Karen Allen's head and see if she transforms into Margot Kidder. Edit: Then again I personally think he looks OK. Not as scruffy as he looked in the Young Indiana Jones "Mystery of the Blues" episode. Edit Deuce: Anyone hear the supposed "title"? Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is what I've heard... has that been confirmed as "true" or is just more internet speculation? Quote

Fly4victory Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 So what is the new revolver? That is not the Smith and Wessen, Colt, or Webley revolver that we have seen in the last three movies. The new revolver likes much older when compared to Smith and then the Colt that Indy had in Raiders and then Temple of Doom, respectively. Quote
bsu legato Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Take a look at this higher resolution version of the same pic. You can clearly see that it's a Webley, likely another Mk VI. Quote
