Vic Mancini Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I'm just dissapointed that Yamato haven't yet followed up the first cad drawings published in a magazine with more. I know. I'm dying to see a side view of this baby in F mode. How long do we need to wait here? Sheesh.
Dante74 Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Fvck CAD images, I want pics of a prototype!
eugimon Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Fvck CAD images, I want pics of a prototype! Man, I haven't even gotten my sv-51 from Tam yet and I'm already drooling over the next release.
Hayabusa Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I'm kinda assuming Graham probably saw the prototype or some resin mock up? Since he mentions how sleek it is...Hmm, now where is this mock up that we can see lol!
Wicked Ace Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I'm excited about the SV-51 release, but I really want to see more of the "high speed, low drag" YF-21 we've been promised. Hey, I'm drunk enough for me to quote myself.
Sumdumgai Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Wouldn't it be cool if the YF-21 came with a bonus alternate canopy and bonus alternate face from the VF-22? Like they were planning to do with the old 1/72 YF-21 w/FP as seen here: Graham's 1/72 YF-21 w/FP prototype review You know, just to hold us over until they do a VFX Ravens VF-22S. I know, I know, the VF-22S has different, larger, belly plates to store the gunpods. But, we could always pretend it's the YF-21 Prototype 1 with conventional conrols. I'm crossing my fingers that Yamato gets it right on the first run. They should really test the hell out of the toy, and oversee things to make sure there's no problems like with the YF-19 first run (crooked gunpod, tight neck, and landing gears not canting outwards), or the batches of SV-51s with identical hinges. I really hope they get it right on the first time, because I don't want to wait for a run with fixes because the first run had problems.
vermillion01 Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 We need pictures, glorious prototype pictures...
Dante74 Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 If FAST Packs and/or a Fold Booster aren't included with the first release I'll pass and wait for a second release that does include them. I did the same with the 19 and it worked out great AFAIC.
Guest sh002 Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 no doubt about it i'm buying this. can't wait for the early bird preorder.
eugimon Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 I'm waiting for the FP release, if there is one, as well.
Uxi Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 If FAST Packs and/or a Fold Booster aren't included with the first release I'll pass and wait for a second release that does include them. I did the same with the 19 and it worked out great AFAIC. Indeed. I love the YF-21 (my favorite mecha) so much, though it's going to be hard to resist. VF-22S face/head in an add-on could help but without that guarantee, I'll be waiting and hoping.
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 (edited) I want one YF-21 to pose raw without FP's, so i don't mind grabbing the first release. Broken limiter mode anyone? Only paying extra for the FP's anyways. Edited September 16, 2007 by ruskiiVFaussie
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 (edited) As long as they don't change it to a shade of blue that is more like purple.. I hope the wrists are strong. The 21 has a chunky gunpod. Edited September 17, 2007 by 1/1 LowViz Lurker
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 Yeah the hands won't suffer from the chicken syndrome thankfully. Totally won't happen.
VFTF1 Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Well this guy better truly come out cause I sold my 1/72 to make room for him VFTF1
vermillion01 Posted September 21, 2007 Posted September 21, 2007 I would imagine a prototype pic would be nice right about now... nearly 3 months since the announcement...
Fort Max Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 So another month and nothing in the magazines, Yamato is so cruel.
Hayabusa Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 In the mean time I guess we can discuss on another color variation for the YF-21?
Hayabusa Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Lime green+Yellow trim? SUBMIT TO THE SubLYMONal project! lol j/k, you want a scheme like that? I find black on dark red a little better like the new planes in Ace Combat 6.
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 (edited) Any of the M7 colour variants with face/cockpit changes to make it a 22. Red, blue, black, and i want a white, and uhh... low vis 1 !! ! !! !! This will be the new 1/48 VF-1 for me, buying multitudes damn you! And why the f haven't we got anything new for news??? Everything is so slow! No Nora pre-order from hlj.com, no YF-21 news. Bah! Edited September 24, 2007 by ruskiiVFaussie
mister_e Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Wonder when we'll start seeing prototype images? Have we known about any of the other releases this far in advance without seeing prototype pictures? Probably so, but I can't seem to remember any.
Sumdumgai Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Black with grey stripes. White with black stripes. Minmay Guard white and blue, with school-girl Minmay painted on the back. Black with gold stripes. VFX2 Ravens scheme as the VF-22S.
Hiriyu Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Pink and yellow. ...oops, wait, we already have a pink and yellow valk on the way. Nevermind.
Mog Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Here's a hypothetical question on the eventual color variation releases: will all the pilots be molded in Guld's knuckles-and-thumbs-connected pose? Personnaly, I'd rather have these non-canon pilots look like they're flying the 21 manually.
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 (edited) Personally i think they should get a wriggle on and develop the 22's face plate and just release the 21 as a limited canon colour release (maybe low vis 1 as well) with the obvious re-issues. I want my M&Ms VF-22's not a red + blue YF-21. Edited September 24, 2007 by ruskiiVFaussie

ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 The way the board keeps talking about M7 and how it keeps being brought up it's hard to keep track if it's a go or not. So what, Bandai are the ones we need to sought out to let Yamato make them?
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Did the vf-22 appear in the vfx 2 games? That might be how they could do it if they have the license. Not sure if that means it's possible to see Gamlin's Black VF-22 from mac7 though. (last I heard they could make it similar to gamlin through a non-canon repaint) I think changing the face would be an easy mod though..

It's basically a YF-21 colour scheme with whit stripes instead of yellow.
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 (edited) Goody that means we'll see 22 then. Two cockpit types, pilots, faces will mean double the profits for yamato. Personally I like the head on both but for different reasons. The 21 looks more robotic and alien for some reason. The 22 head "just looks cooler" and more advanced. (like what VF1J is to VF1A) Edited September 24, 2007 by 1/1 LowViz Lurker
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 (edited) Sooo.... if we can do up a VF-22, does that still mean we can't have M7 canon schemes? Just the design was the problem right? Edited September 24, 2007 by ruskiiVFaussie
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 (edited) I think the real problem is printing Macross 7 on the box, not the design and probably not the paint scheme. Yamato could issue Macross 7 repaints (I think), without advertising it as a Macross 7 toy, but somehow I don't see it happening. A VFX VF-22 is good enough for me. For those with enough skill or money there's always the custom option Edited September 25, 2007 by Lonely Soldier Boy
