crazypakan Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 I have four Macross 7 valkyries and I'm trying to figure out which are bootlegs and which are not. Also, is there a Macross toy price guide that's up to date? The MW toy section appears to be old, but I'm not sure. Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Those are bootlegs. The most visible giveaway is the missing Bandai logo. They've replaced it with Docker and Basara's portraits. Each usually runs between $15 - $20. Quote
Ginrai Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Those are ALL bootlegs. The really obvious thing is the bottom right corner has an anime face instead of the Bandai logo. Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 out of the bootleg bunch, they vf-19 blazer and vf-17d are the best ones. And you have the first bootleg of the vf-19 blazer as it comes with the grey shoulders. Nice! The ones that came later came with red shoulders... Quote

And i still wonder how the bootleggers can make a toy and use screws that are at least two sizes too big to put it together. Quote
Axelay Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 I'm not sure if current bootlegs still have this, but the bootleg Blazer Valkyries I recall having seen over the years have the incorrect wings and canards. They used the same wings and canards as the Fire Valkyrie. The Bandai Blazer doesn't have canards at all (nor should it), and its forward-swept wings are much stubbier. Quote

But the head is the only difference between the two. When I first bought my bootleg and tried to put the stickers on the wing, I was like why doesn't it fit at all? Then I looked at it closely on the box and realized that the wings are not the right kind for the blazer. Quote
crazypakan Posted June 2, 2007 Author Posted June 2, 2007 Bummer, I thought maybe some weren't bootlegs. Anyway, thanks for the info. Quote
