HoveringCheesecake Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Why wouldn't it be? It's more of a car with legs anyway. And how is that guy a redneck? He'd have to be fairly intelligent to pull that off. Quote
GobotFool Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 not bad. Kind of pointless, but as he said, he did it because he could. Got to love mad inventors Quote
promethuem5 Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Interesting, but I had more fun watching the Japanese Spider Man videos linked to it... Quote
LL Cool VF1J Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 thats pretty cool. If I had the time, I would try and build one. Quote
Lynx7725 Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 While the engineering is impressive, on a functional level it is not much of an improvement over tank treads. Given the limited motions of the legs, the vehicle is limited to setting each side to either forward or reverse. essentially replicating a tank. What would be more impressive functionally is if they could have made this crab sideways. Also, since this is on a flat surface, it's fairly safe; how does this handle on uneven ground? As it is, I think it needs major suspension upgrades. Looks to be a bumpy ride... Quote
Mr March Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Fantastic! Kinda silly to be sure, but well worth the effort. I'd love to give it a "walk" Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Reminds me a lot of a Fuchikoma. I'd love to design a body for that thing. Quote
JB0 Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Spidermech, spidermech! What the heck? It's a spidermech! Can't spin webs or catch flys. Can run down badguys if it tries. Look out! Here comes the spidermech! Quote
Dante74 Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 They should put some rocket lanchers and machine guns on it. Quote
