Kin
lol I created a "Stick Bernard" character... the longer I play this game the more ressemblance I see in Mospeada like survival enviroment. His 101vault outfit sure looks like a marsbase one.

Tober
Too bad we can't get schematics to remake a ride armour eh? There were CAD drawings for the Beagle and MegaHouse on the net before. I actually started modelling a Ride Armour as well but stopped. F3 was one of the few games of recent times I have actually enjoyed playing. I still can't figure out how they got the wasteland environment to load so fast And I don't think the engine can support vehicles, let alone how difficult it would be to incorporate a transforming one. Was kinda weird that there were all these bikes lying about the wasteland but you couldn't fix one to ride off on

transfan52
How many rads do you need to be exposed to, to become a goul? Being that 1000 rads is the limit id say probably 800 at least... even at 600 rads you still look normal.
Kin
lol I hate gouls... I mean the ones that are totally mutated in the subways. It's pretty funny if you shoot a lasergun or rifle in VATS mode... it really sounds like the laserguns in Mospeada But I see modding potentials for the heavy power armor suits. Could be modded to ride armor suits. Edited November 9, 2008 by Kin
wolfx
How many rads do you need to be exposed to, to become a goul? LOL....before i cause too much misinformation, that is just a Ghoul Mask that allows me to appear as friendly to feral ghouls....i didn't turn into a ghoul. Though i was walking around with minor rad sickness most of the time and i didn't realise it. It's pretty funny if you shoot a lasergun or rifle in VATS mode... it really sounds like the laserguns in Mospeada But I see modding potentials for the heavy power armor suits. Could be modded to ride armor suits. You're mad, but i like how you think. I have to have more faith with the navigation compass though it does not make sense sometimes. I wanted to head to the Arlington library so i quick travelled to the Church Falls Metro and want to head south from there seeing its near in the world map. But oddly the arrow points me to a subway that was heading north.....far away from the Library. Kind of perplexed, i went with the nav anyway and whatddaya know, the nav arrow was right and you had to make a big detour up north because that's the only way to get to the Arlington library, from Megaton anyway. Kin
Ye.. few quest bugs there is. For example the one where you have to deliver the letter back to lucy at megaton or locate the Family, the show location link is not active. So I'm forced to find my father.. Yes, the arrowpointers are unclear and annoying... I spent 3 hours locating the washington monument, each time a few yards away and yet have to go through the subway. (rather climb/crawl through rubble) Actually.. this is a pretty negative point from the devs. Why should you struggle to get to a designated marker on the map if you have never been there before? Why not place a few road/street/metrostation signs place few peds around to give/point directions every waypoint?

Kin
ROFL, I replaced all the ingame music with the mospeada soundtracks BGM and the radio with Yellow songs! I'm suprised how well the tracks fit into the wasteland settings and battle scenes. Stick Bernard is feeling down right now... quest is not going to well. Gonna have a drink. Why not place a few road/street/metrostation signs place few peds around to give/point directions every waypoint? I think the arrows and the world map can be trusted fully. Some places might look like a few yards away from the world map but in reality to get there , there is rubble blocking your path above ground so you got no choice but to walk below ground on the opposite direction. Now i've learn to trust the arrows more than I trust myself. And washington monument is just some small distance from Underworld so i didn't have a problem with it. Another known bug...the old coot at the water processing plant in megaton, falls out of the map's bounds and disappears from the game. So in my game he's gone. Damn...and i wanted to sell him lotsa scrap metal and get free XPs too.

Kin
hmm I do recall the old man... he's gone. The only ammo which is easy to come by are .34 rifle rounds..(or .38?) But mostly got them by killing supermutants. Hmmm I haven't tried selling scrapmetal to the ghoul (krusty the clown lol) in washington. Akilae
I think it's important to keep in mind that map markers are actually given to you by NPCs. For the hunt for the Family, the NPCs have no idea where the Family comes from, so you are not presented with clear map markers. It's up to you to actually find the Family. It's not hard either, since you are given three possible locations, of which one actually does lead to the Family. Getting around Washington DC was a little frustrating, especially I didn't actually know about map markers until I arrived at the Museum of History, lol. I just prepared for the worst and loaded up on ammo. I actually haven't suffered from any ammo shortage though. A steady supply of Talon mercs provides me with 5.56, energy cells, and micro fusion cells. What I can't get off them I sell their guns and armor and buy from Moira or the caravans. I think at one point I was sitting on 2000 rounds of 5.56... then I had to go save the Rangers and burned through 1/3 of that. Generally if you're good about picking up ALL the trash you come across early in the game you shouldn't have any money or ammo shortages. That sucks.... i made it to washington, but Im getting hammered, and Im low on ammo. i need to get to a weapons dump REALLY badly. I'm never low on ammo...in fact i have huge surplus of them now...probably because i tend to explore every nook and cranny and unlock every ammo box i find. XD Oh and also i'm a sharpshooter which usually kills most things with one sneak attack head shot. Too bad there is a limit selling stuff to a single merchant. Lol... made same mistake. Either entered the museum of history or the subway beneath it... doh, the museum of tech was across the trenches. Most ppl took the word "Underworld" quite literally. Doesn't help that the lady ghoul standing near the subway at times. I'm still considering blowing 2000 bucks on getting Charon. I don't quite need a companion and i'm afraid if my companion will affect my stealth style gameplay. I got everything for my house except the Jukebox...and I got a super plasma rifle. Its awesome. dizman
In my wanderings around the wasteland I actually found a crashed UFO complete with dead alien and alien blaster! Strongest weapon I've seen yet with a damage of around 80 when you first find it. Also found some sexy power armor that talks to me and gives me med-x automatically when I'm getting shot. Found the alien blaster in the northern middle area of the wasteland and the armor was in the sewers of a town (think it was Old Gurney or something like that). Akilae
My god.. just took over an hour to finish Head of State. A few days ago I couldn't finish the quest... ol Hannibal told me to meet them at Lincoln Memorial, so I went back to Megaton to sell all of my loot, then went to Lincoln Memorial. Nobody was there. I figured I'd wait... and wait... and waited for a whole week (game time), and still nobody showed up. Today I figured I'd escort the whole gaggle over to Lincoln Memorial, and figured out the problem. Along the way the caravan was waylaid by Yao-guai (a pack of three), a Mr. Gutsy, two protectortrons, twelve raiders (one of which had a missile launcher), two hunters, four super mutants, countless ghouls... not to mention all the stupid AI pathing problems. Hannibal kept on getting caught on lamposts, fire hydrants, even getting trapped when exiting the metro station. I kept on having to push up against him to get him in the clear so he could proceed at his leisurely pace. In the end, it took almost two hours, but I got them safely to Lincoln Memorial... wolfx
Was on my way to vault 112 when i discovered a Slaver camp. I went in all stealth like trying to infiltrate it and was doing a good job too...until Dogmeat became berserk and went attacking the Behemoth and died. Annoyed, i told him to stay put on a safe corner so i went massacering all the slavers and went into the foundry. After exiting the foundry, a message appears before me, "Dogmeat is dead". WTF. Sigh. Sometimes i wish Dogmeat was just a caravan Brahmin so he can just stay put and carry my stuff instead of getting himself killed all the damned time. I'm leaving him in my room next time i get back to Megaton. But interesting thing about the Slaver camp, what's more fun than going on a killing spree there? Why, to release the Behemoth and seeing the Slavers get massacred by the Behemoth from a distance of course. I also found a Vault....which i'm not sure if it will play any signifigance later. The inhabitants have become insane and as you enter some areas of the vault, your vision turns a blue hue and you start hallucinating stuff. Quite unsettling stuff. But i explored everything in there just to find a bobblehead. No important thing discovered. Also found a radioactive Armory near minefield but i can't access the lower levels cause it requires either Lockpick 100 or Science 100 which i don't have neither. Dogmeat did the same thing to me... twice. The third time I got fed up and climbed onto the cliff overlooking the Behemoth's pen, pulled out the sniper rifle and shot the generator hooked up to the fence. The Behemoth got out and went on a rampage. Imagine my surprise when the Slavers actually managed to kill it! Thankfully by then there were only three slavers left when I waltzed in to finish the job.

Fit For Natalie
Dude, that's disgusting. I really don't understand people playing out their serial killer fantasies in games. I kept on having to push up against him to get him in the clear so he could proceed at his leisurely pace. In the end, it took almost two hours, but I got them safely to Lincoln Memorial... The quest is semi-bugged. After Hannibal's group pack up and head out to the Lincoln Memorial, the game tells you to head there. Unfortunately, fast-traveling directly to the Memorial means Hannibal's group won't teleport there with you. What you do instead is run over to the nearby collapsed metro station (should be called something-Mall). Kill the dogs there, then fast-travel to same location. When you teleport there, Hannibal's entire group will be with you, like with all other companions you escort whilst using Fast Travel. They will walk to the memorial and the quest will be completed. wolfx
lol, I love this part I look ugly when i look like a kid. And the mask really unnerves me....kinda scary when I look at this picture. The Pint-Sized Slasher!!! That was about the only task I failed, I couldn't find the shed or whatever to beat Braun so I went on a rampage dropping karma... I did manage to jump over the other side of the outer fence to a world of black polygons tho I actually won the game through the "good karma" way 1st but it was pretty boring so i kept the save and replayed the "bad karma" way. Wayyy more fun in a sick way. Though i do wonder what's so "good" about the good way because all the inhabitants died anyway and won't wake up in the real world... Anyway you just had to go into the Abandoned House and click on the few items in the correct sequence. Took me about 5 minutes to get it right. I'm level 20 now and I'm still not half done with the game. Stupid level cap. Stupid Bethesa.
