wwallace55 Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Hello everyone. Does anyone know where to buy the Bandai or FX version of DYRL? I was looking on ebay but it appears that the most of them are the Letterboxed version of the film. Any help would be great! Thanks in advance. Quote

You can use an agency service like "Shopping Mall Japan" to bid on auctions in Japan. As far as I know any legit copies of the FX version are rare and almost never sold on e-bay (all the ones who claim to sell them are either lying or clueless as to what a legit copy looks like) and the Bandai version isn't often sold in North America due to the region coding differences. On Yahoo Japan you can sometimes find used ones for 5000 - 6000 Yen range. Edited May 2, 2007 by Zinjo Quote

After so many years, I thought the widescreen version would be easy to find on the market so I could replace my 10 year old VHS copy. Another interesting thing is that there are no english language versions of the DYRL floating around. Since I have an english language version of DYRL on VHS (a letter box transfer from LaserDisc ), I was hoping to preserve the audio portion with a widescreen version of the film. I also searched YesAsia.com for the film and I found the Korean release but I wasn't sure if it was the letterbox version. Does anyone know if the Korean release of DYRL on Yesasia.com is in anamorphic widescreen format? Thanks to anyone that replies. Quote
Zinjo Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 If you get an FX version or even the Bandai R2 version and have a Dual Layer DVD burner, our very own Hurin has the files and instructions to hook you up with a very good subtitled version of the Perfect Edition of the DVD. here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=22110 Quote
