EXO Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 I've noticed a couple of times where an attached picture will get cut horizontally. It can be fixed by refreshing so it's no big deal. I just thought someone should know in case there's an easy fix or if it's a setting on my part. Quote
SuperOstrich Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 It happened to one of my posts, and no amount of refreshing would bring the whole image in. The funny was that I viewed the image previously in the post no problem. I edited the post and uploaded the image again and the problem was fixed. Very strange bug. As far as I can tell, there is no way to determine what the actual problem is though. Our only hope is that Invision updates address the problem eventually. Quote
Lynx7725 Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 Think this only occurs if the picture is wider than the layout of the board. Rule of thumb, I believe, is no wider than 600 pixels.. that's about max without distortion. I've stuck fairly close to this and hadn't had the problem mentioned for my pics. Quote
SuperOstrich Posted October 15, 2003 Posted October 15, 2003 That's not the problem. People have posted pics that are over 1200 pixels wide and they work fine. 600 pixels wide is a rule of thumb to be polite. Quote
Shawn Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 could you post a link to where this happens? thanks S Quote
SuperOstrich Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Next time I see it, I'll let you know Shawn. I fixed the image in my post by editing the topic and replacing the image. Quote
wrylac Posted November 3, 2003 Posted November 3, 2003 I posted a pic 650 pixels wide and it didn't stretch the forum window. Quote
muswp1 Posted November 3, 2003 Posted November 3, 2003 Kinda OT, but what's the max allowable size of a picture that doesn't screw up the forum window?? Quote
SuperOstrich Posted November 3, 2003 Posted November 3, 2003 Who knows for sure, since Shawn has this board set to scale with your browser viewport. However, it's more of a favor to people running resolutions below 1600x1200 (most people). If you're running an un-maximized browser window like I do, the pics start to stretch my 1280x1024 display at around 700 pixels. So we've made the "official" max size at around 640. Quote
EXO Posted November 9, 2003 Author Posted November 9, 2003 Here's an example of the occurence. Like I said no biggie... just in case Shawn is interested. I easily solved by refreshing the browser... Could be an IE bug too, not sure... Quote
