Keith Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 http://www.animeondvd.com/forum/showtopic..../last/m/1/#LAST Gurren Lagann Volume 1 cover due out Feb 26th.
UN Spacy Posted December 1, 2007 Author Posted December 1, 2007 Thanks for the great news Keith. I hope they keep the Region 2 box art.
Fort Max Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 I gotta be honest, I think it looks worse with the dark background and the logo's kind of cheap looking. I just got ADV's Godannar thinpak yesterday and they converted the logo for that perfectly, I honestely don't think they could have gotten it any closer but this just looks poor. Not that it matters, I can't wait to buy this!
UN Spacy Posted December 1, 2007 Author Posted December 1, 2007 (edited) THX to the folks at tftuk for these shots! http://www.transformertoys.co.uk/content.p...+Expo+2007.html Edited December 1, 2007 by UN Spacy
Keith Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Looks like they are going to use the R2 covers, the one linked to above was just a placeholder cover.
Fort Max Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 (edited) Looks like they are going to use the R2 covers, the one linked to above was just a placeholder cover. Sweet, that is just what I wanted to hear. Thanks Keith. And regarding the revoltech, it looks kinda odd how it's jointed so the top of Gurren's mouth can twist around sepeate to the bottom part and there's no drills or wing pack in sight, Other then that though it;s pure win! Edit, I was browsing gametrailers.com and came across this subbed version of the 12 minute OVA episode that shipped with the DS game. I hadn't seen it so I figured others here wouldn't have either. Emjoy but be sure to read the text under the video player as it explains who the extra characters are. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/125597.html Edited December 2, 2007 by Fort Max
UN Spacy Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 The OVA was just silly fun. It added nothing new to the main story aside from some friggin furries. I'm not sure how legit this image is, but this could be ADV's Region 1 boxart for GL.
Fort Max Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I'm glad they're using the R2 art but the text is just plain dull, it doesn't suit the show at all. Hopefully this is still just a placeholder image.
UN Spacy Posted December 5, 2007 Author Posted December 5, 2007 The funny thing is that it's the same text used on the R2 release. Although, I think it looks better executed in this version superimposed on top of of the clear casing
Keith Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 They've also confirmed it'll be a 6 disc release!
UN Spacy Posted December 5, 2007 Author Posted December 5, 2007 They've also confirmed it'll be a 6 disc release! REALLY? This is rather shocking news. Isn't it more common to stretch a 26 to 27 episode series out over 8 or 9 DVD's?
Fort Max Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Oh, didn't know it was the same text, I expected that the Japanese release would have had the brushstroke kanji look. 6 Discs is A-ok with me, I presume they'll be dropping the recap episode.
crasis Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I know I'm a latecomer, but I just started watching Gurren Lagann this week. Holy hell, this show is all kinds of awesome! I'm only three episodes in, and I already see why you guys have been so excited about the Revoltech figure coming out. And the upcoming ADV release is a six-disc set? This sounds too good to be true!
Fort Max Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Just wait till you've seen it all, the dvd's won't be coming anywhere enar quick enough!
Noyhauser Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Anon hath spoken? (for those who don't get the reference... I suspect 4chan had something to do with this)

Fort Max Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Jeez, I had no idea the show was that popular!
Keith Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I'd glady live in a country with the Gurren Dan logo. espeically if "Minna no Peace" was the national anthem
Noyhauser Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Jeez, I had no idea the show was that popular! It isn't. I bet that 4chan rigged it. The second image is a dead give away.
Fort Max Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Well the Queen is losing popularity, apparently only a quarter of us are expected to listen to the snoozefest that is her Christmas address this year. I haven't even beeen subjected to it since my Grandfather died nearly ten years ago now. I whole heartedly support this revision of my national flag, make it happen Gordon*! * Gordon Brown recently took over from Tony Blair as Prime Minister just in case anyone's in the dark about that.
Twoducks Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I would gladly move to a country that adopts the Gurenn Brigates symbol into their flag. Even if I have to pay more taxes. "It represents shouting "UNION!" and joining together; kicking reason to the curb and doing the impossible; fighting the power, and piercing the heavens," Ooooh, the manly tears, the be coming out of my eyes now. So beautiful.

eriku Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 (edited) The new Yoko figure looks nice, unless screws bother you. Now I must decided weather to get one or to wait for the inevitable Revoltech Yoko... http://silencer82.blog99.fc2.com/blog-entry-143.html Edited December 15, 2007 by eriku
Duke Togo Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Wow. Just, wow. Dude, that is so sweet I just crapped my pants. Manly tears, indeed!

Now I must decided weather to get one or to wait for the inevitable Revoltech Yoko... http://silencer82.blog99.fc2.com/blog-entry-143.html Hips, ass, & breats are all too small for a proper Yoko sculpt. That Yoko needs to eat! Edited December 15, 2007 by Keith
UN Spacy Posted December 15, 2007 Author Posted December 15, 2007 Another new gallery of Yoko MMS. http://cms.or.tp/~gamu/gangu/konami/mms2yo/mms2yo.html
eriku Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Another new gallery of Yoko MMS. http://cms.or.tp/~gamu/gangu/konami/mms2yo/mms2yo.html Does Konami make those Bouso Shinki figures? This new Yoko's sculpt really reminds me of those. And that naked, boobless pictures is really creepy.

crasis Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Wow...those sure are a lot of...umm..screws? Big pass on that one. Here's hoping for a Revoltech Yoko in the future. That Simon and Lagann figure is pure awesomeness, however. Where can I get one of those??
Duke Togo Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 I am sorry, this is probably beyond what is acceptable on these forums, but man... that pic gives me wood.
chrono Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Yep it's "EPIC!". It would make an excellent flag for the new nation of EU. It really did some 'fluffing' in 4Chan's /m/. Though it's still not as "EPIC!!!" as what they did with those glasses & the 'Muppet Show'!
Duke Togo Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 (edited) In my opinion, this should be the new MacrossWorld logo. Man, I wanna be in the Gurren Brigade, too. Put that action on my car! Edited December 17, 2007 by Duke Togo
