Warmaker Posted October 13, 2003 Posted October 13, 2003 I was watching some BSG episodes today on Sci-Fi and I guess they're doing it to publicize the DVD release as well as the *ahem* "revised BSG." I know there are some Galactica fans on this board and I'm giving a heads up. Quote
kam63 Posted October 13, 2003 Posted October 13, 2003 yeah I was watching the marthon today too. Im gonna pick the DVD set up. what do you think about the new BSG? Im not really sure about it gonna have to watch the first Episode. is it suppsed to take place before the OG BSG or after? Quote
Warmaker Posted October 13, 2003 Author Posted October 13, 2003 (edited) For the new BSG, I dunno. The original is so stuck into my head from watching the syndicated episodes as a kid (even when moved to the USA and didn't speak English). I tend to dislike remakes but I'm curious as to how this will come out. For the DVD set I'm very likely to get it. The tin can container (I presume) has the face of a Cylon on it B) Edited to add: I never watched the BSG 1980(?) but from the bad things I heard I guess my fragile little mind at the time probably couldn't handle it. I believe I never should... Edited October 13, 2003 by Warmaker Quote
Warmaker Posted October 13, 2003 Author Posted October 13, 2003 I just looked it up on Amazon. Listing price is supposed to be $119.98 U.S. but they're selling it there for $83.99. Seems okay pricewise considering I bought my Band of Brothers DVD set for about $86. Quote
Noriko Takaya Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 I'll get it. I remember watching it as a kid when it first aired in 1978 or so, and the hype it started because it was such a blatant rip-off of Star Wars at the time. As for Galactica 1980, the people who concocted that idea should be hung by their toes and left to swing around in the wind. Currently, I have no idea if Glen Larson was involved with that debacle, but if he was, hang him up. The new Galactica? Nope. I would rather have my memories left intact instead of trumpled into mush. Quote

As for the dvds and the remake, I can't wait a secton for either. Edited October 14, 2003 by terry the lone wolf Quote
Warmaker Posted October 14, 2003 Author Posted October 14, 2003 Hmm, Buck Rodgers. I forgot about that show. Erin Gray comes readily from my childhood memories of that show B) Quote
Keith Posted October 14, 2003 Posted October 14, 2003 If I'm going to pick up any cheesey sci-fi series next week, it'll be Southern Cross. Quote
