KingNor Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 (edited) Yves Rossy has created probably the greated flying vehicle ever made! Chas Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Holly Crap! Watching that just makes me tingly all over. Just incredible! Wow! Quote
David Hingtgen Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Very cool. Though it sure looks twin-engined to me. Add a third! Quote
Beware of Blast Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Cool for skydiving with a little twist. Too bad it only last minutes and he can't take off from the ground. Quote
KingNor Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 (edited) if i was rich and was the type that would go skydiving in the first place... i'd be all over thing before you could say "danger to public safety" Edited March 7, 2007 by KingNor Quote
mechaninac Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 ... Too bad it only last minutes and he can't take off from the ground. That's true of the current prototype, but at the end of the video it is stated that a future version, in the works, will be designed for extended endurance and take offs. That will be beyond incredible, specially considering that what is shown on the clip is already spellbinding. Quote

gerwalk25 Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 That was an insanely awesome piece of footage! Quote

Although I shudder at the thought of its fuel consumption, it will be interesting to see how it turns out. Quote

Valkyrie Hunter D Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Awesome! A real life GI Joe vehicle! Quote
wolfx Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Really awesome. But wasn't the military doing something similar? I believe I read it in the Weapons or Science thread. Can't remember if it had jet engines but they wanted to use it to drop para troopers far from a landing zone so they can glide with the wings towards it at low altitutes. Quote
