g3173 Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Hey Guys, Been out of the Macross scene for awhile and I’m trying to play catch-up with my collection. Can someone post pictures of the recent releases in fighter mode and side by side? I want to see the size difference. If the 1/60 VFO's are too small I might just stick with the 1/60 YF-19. If there are photos that show a side-by-side comparison, please direct me to the appropriate site. Thanks in advance! Gene Quote
HoveringCheesecake Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 The VF-0 is the same size as the 1/48 VF-1. So, it's also the same size as the YF-19. Quote
maxi Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 the fact they are in the same scale doesn´t mean they are the same size. yf-19 is bigger than vf-0 or vf-1. Quote
HoveringCheesecake Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 (edited) the fact they are in the same scale doesn´t mean they are the same size. yf-19 is bigger than vf-0 or vf-1. The 1/60 YF-19 is roughly the same size as the 1/60 VF-0. That was my point. I think it is fairly clear that I know the difference between size and scale since I said the 1/48 VF-1 was the same SIZE as the 1/60 VF-0. To quote Graham's review... The YF-19 toy and box has the following dimensions: *Toy Height, Battroid Mode (to top of head) approx: 26.3cm *Toy Height, Battroid Mode (to top of head laser) approx: 30.8cm *Fighter Length (approx): 34.4cm and, for the VF-0A... * Fighter Mode Length (not including Pitot Tube): 12.4" (31.5cm) * Battroid mode height (to top of the head laser): 10.8" (27.5cm). * GERWALK mode height: 7.8" (20cm) approx. A whopping 3 cm difference in Fighter mode and 3 cm in Battroid. I'd say that they are "roughly" the same size, thanks. Edited February 12, 2007 by meh_cd Quote
Fly4victory Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Sorry about the crappy quality of the photos but you can see the sizes of the VF-0, VF-1, and YF-19. The 19 is about the same size as the 0 and oddly enough they (1/60) about the same size as the 1/48 VF-1. Quote
Chowser Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 tossed in a 1/60 VF-1J also: 1/60 VF-1J, 1/60 VF-0S, 1/60 YF-19, 1/48 VF-1S Quote
g3173 Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 Thanks Chowser! That's exactly what I was looking for. Dang now i've got to buy the YF-19 plus the 2 VF-0's. tossed in a 1/60 VF-1J also: 1/60 VF-1J, 1/60 VF-0S, 1/60 YF-19, 1/48 VF-1S Quote
Macross73 Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 i'm sure you already decided to wait until the VF-0A and YF-19 bundles come out. Hopefully yamato has done some revamping. Quote
mojacko Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 looking thru the pix makes me wonder???how come yamato shrunk the 1:60 1J's well in fact they were battling with the giant zentraedi's???? Quote
HoveringCheesecake Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Yamato didn't shrink them... that's just the size they were in the show. They were built to be the same size as a Zentradi without a battlesuit/power armor. Quote

nghia59 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 tossed in a 1/60 VF-1J also: 1/60 VF-1J, 1/60 VF-0S, 1/60 YF-19, 1/48 VF-1S Hey whay are the pilots in 1/48 the same size as the 1/60 scale? Quote
jenius Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Hey whay are the pilots in 1/48 the same size as the 1/60 scale? They're not. The Isamu is apparently a tiny bit too big but there is a clear difference in the size of the 1/48 pilot and the 1/60 pilot. There was another thread on here that did much clearer comparisons of just the pilot figures. Quote
Dante74 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I think it's because Isamu's helmet is a lot bigger than the VF-1 pilot's helmet. Quote
