Eternal_D Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Does anybody have the above yamato just recently released? I didnt' realize it was a model kit before I put an order in for one, is it like a complete model kit or more snap tight? painting required or pre-painted with shading? worth the money or too much trouble? Quote
myk Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 The kit requires cement, paint and minor electrical work for the lights and radio controlled gun turrets. I'd say it's worth the money and effort if you're that big into the 'Space Cruiser. I'd certainly go for an Andromeda myself... Quote
Beware of Blast Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Go to the toyboxdx invicible bbs. They're talking about it now! http://toyboxst.inwards.com/phorum/read.php?1,159444,page=2 Quote
UN Spacy Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Damn you Bandai! Where's my Soul of Popynica Andromeda? Quote
UN Spacy Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 JESUS that box is bigger than most Japanese bathrooms! It's just beautiful.......truely the ultimate Yamato. Quote
Retracting Head Ter Ter Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 The reverse box art with the painting of the Yamato taking off from the dried seabed is BEAUTIFIC! You get a fullsize poster of that same artwork inside too. Quote
GRAND CANNON Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Dalong.net has begun his construction. Damn, what a kit! Quote
Eternal_D Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 wow...that's freakin nice...too bad i'm going to have to put it together...which means it won't be put together for like years... Quote
Mowe Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 (edited) That is freakin' awsome. The SOC looks midget next to the box. If only SDF-1 comes in that size... Edited February 16, 2007 by Mowe Quote
Dangard Ace Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Jesus...it's longer then the Dendrobium?! Quote
Dante74 Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 (edited) Dalong's review is up! Lots 'n lots of pics, let the drooling commence! *EDIT* scroll down a bit and you'll even find some video's. Edited March 22, 2007 by Dante74 Quote
Capt Hungry Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 (edited) I like the pic of the dude laying under the box! Hee! Edited March 22, 2007 by Capt Hungry Quote
Dangard Ace Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 I so want this but my wallet is saying I so don't need this since I've already got 2 SoP Yamato. Quote
Dante74 Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Too expensive IMO. If it were a SDF-1 it would be a different story though. Quote
Retracting Head Ter Ter Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Too expensive for me since its a kit. If it was assembled and painted I would consider it. Quote
Macross73 Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 (edited) Too expensive IMO. If it were a SDF-1 it would be a different story though. an SDF-1 that size would be ideal. edit : i thought at first that perhaps the sound and light effects would be to gimmicky but it actually adds a lot to the ship especially the canon and engines. Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 From Dalong's pictures it seems molded in color. Unless you want a more model kit and a less toyish look, adding weathering and stuff, it doesn't seem that much of a hassle to put together. After all assembly is the fun and easy part IMHO. Quote
myk Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Golden gun barrels? Maybe if the rocket anchor had been painted gold as well it'd work. Oh well, beautiful ship, regardless. I especially liked the wave-motion gun and engine effects... Quote

Yeah, but glue hates me. I believe the barrels are gold because they're actually made of metal. Quote
UN Spacy Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Yamato fans looks like Marmit is releasing a NEW Andromeda in 2008. Get your wallets ready for this 450mm/17inch metal masterpiece. It's listed around $230! THX to nakajo and bizzio at Robot Japan for the pics. Quote
emerson Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 (edited) Ever since these pics surfaced over on RJ, I've been trying to find a preorder somewhere haha. It's about time the Andromeda got some love. It's too bad the Bandai SOP Yamato, the Aoshima Shin Seiki Gokin Arcadias, and now this Marmit Daigokin Andromeda aren't really in scale with one another...but I'm not complaining!! I wouldn't ask Marmit to make this thing smaller haha. Edited August 27, 2007 by emerson Quote
mechaninac Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 (edited) Beau-ti-ful!... but not $230 + S&H beautiful. I think I'll wait until Bandai makes a SOP Andromeda in scale with their Yamato; if they never do, I'm sure there will be a VF to claim the loot I won't be spending on this. Keith Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 If I had the space & spare cash, that Andromeda would be mine! Quote
