ShadowerV2 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Perhaps CM's will take up the gauntlet, they do seem to want to be the A-Team of the Japanese toy market. Except right now... what their doing to the Legioss Tread combo is an unpardonable crime! So I'd say more like the IMF because making a decent Legioss Tread is almost like Mission Impossible! Quote
Dangard Ace Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Diamond Comics has the Motorslave for pre-order. $240 for a 6.4inch tall toy. The figure is just 6 inches, with the armor 6.4. Quote

Dangard Ace Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 No pics? You'll have to find someone with this months Diamond preview magazine to see it. I saw it when I was at my friends store. Quote
Fort Max Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 That's got to be a mistake, that's an insane price, even for Yamato. I am so close to giving up Japanese toys for good and just buying Transformers to feed my robot addiction. Quote

There was some confusion as to the pricing which we were not able to clear up before Previews went to press. I'll see if I can't get you more details regarding the figure. Thanks, -----Original Message----- From: Dangard Ace Sent: Sunday, February 03, 2008 2:53 PM To: info@yamatotoysusa.com Subject: Bubblegum Crisis Motoslave question Hello, I was looking through this months Diamond Preview and saw that the new Bubblegum Crisis Motoslave was up for preorder for $240. $240 is abit of money for a toy that stands 6.4 inches tall when fully assembled so I was hoping you could answer a few questions for me before I place an order with my local distributor. I would like to know what the construction of the toy is made of How much is diecast? Are any parts of the figure or bike diecast? Is there rubber wheels? What time of plastic is use? PVC, ABS, POM? Does it come with any other gimmicks beyond transforming and combining with he Priss figure? None of these questions were answered in the description of the item in the Diamond Preview magazine. Please note I would like to pass on any information that you can share about this onto MacrossWorld. We do alot of business there with Yamato Japan with regards to the entire Macross Valkyrie lineup. http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?show...mp;#entry558524 Thank you for your time. yellowlightman Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 $72 sounds much more reasonable. When is it supposed to come out? Quote
EXO Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 whew... it's only $72 and not $240... hold on... $72 for a freakin 1/18 toy??? WTF? THat's kinda like... Hey it's not cancer... that's just a skin eating disease! Quote
charger69 Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 (edited) Hey Dante Here are the pics: Bubblegum Crisis Motoslave Edited February 6, 2008 by charger69 Quote
UN Spacy Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 (edited) That looks nice. Any idea if it'll be in scale with any of the new Ride Armors? EDIT: It's 1/15. In scale with the Megahouse ones. Edited February 6, 2008 by UN Spacy Quote
Dante74 Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Thanks for the pics Charger69! Ís this the same scale as the Garland toys? If it is, I'll have to get one of these, but only after someone's done a proper review cause it looks really really really fragile. Quote
Legioss Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Looks cheap. No rubber wheels. It should be $60. I only understand why it's so expensive comparing it to how much Linna cost. Quote
yellowlightman Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Bleh, even at $70 that's too expensive. I love Bubblegum Crisis, but that kind of money for such a dinky toy with so little detail is a stretch. Quote
Fort Max Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 That is Looooooooooooads better, thanks Danguard Ace. Thanks to Charger 69 for the pics too. I may very well get this now, love it. Quote
crasis Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 DO WANT!!! One of my most desired collectibles EVER is seeing the light of day. $70 works for me, considering what I've spent in the past on lesser Japanese toys. COUNT ME IN! (MODS: We really need to change the title of this thread to "BUBBLEGUM CRISIS Motoslave from Yamato" or something of the sort.) Quote

Is this figure going to be available in the USA, and internationally? Having domestic shipping charges and the support of Yamato USA behind this would go a long way in ameliorating the sticker shock even the $70ish price tag causes. promethuem5 Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 If the QC is good I could pick this up... it's a pretty rad and unique design (I've only actually seen the first ep. of Tokyo 2040, so I've not seen the design in animation). Quote

You, sir, absolutely need to see the original OVA series that started it all, and forget about that sub-par Tokyo 2040 stuff. Buy this: http://www.deepdiscount.com/viewproduct.ht...oductId=5737882 Or Netflix it, or something. BGC is one of the best 80's anime series...period. Quote
danth Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Dude, I definitely want this. I might have to set up a shrine to Shinji Aramaki somewhere in my house. Quote

konimon Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 (edited) Thanks for those photos. I started to think it is somewhat reasonably priced due to CM's Ride Armor as this looks like a lot better product than that. I can't wait to have Aramaki shrine this year though. That's the only thing blinds me from thinking $70 is a tad much for a microman sized (IIRC) toy. Edited February 6, 2008 by konimon Quote
EXO Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Dude, I definitely want this. I might have to set up a shrine to Shinji Aramaki somewhere in my house. I have one already, but it's all pictures of him surrounded by candles! I dont want this. I dont want this. I dont want this. I dont want this. I dont want this. I dont want this. I dont want this. I dont want this. well, maybe just one. Quote
eugimon Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 I want as well, but I'll wait for the reviews. I wasn't particularly impressed with the build quality on the BGC figures a while back. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 So, if this is at Early Bird stage in HLJ, how long do we have to wait untill Yamato USA release it in the US? Quote
the white drew carey Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 That looks like total crap. The color and mold of the plastic looks more like a $20 knock off. Man, am I disappointed. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Don't hate it just yet. Those prototype samples Yamato likes to use for the product shots always look kinda crappy. Quote

Good idea. I completely missed this thread because I lost interest in speculation threads. Then I remember BBC and then jumped back in. I'll be interested in this toy after I read some positive reviews. Oh and 2040AD < original BGC with the 80s hairdos. "We want you soldier girls! Soldier girls!" crasis Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 there! that's a far more accurate title Took you long enough. Well, now hopefully more MW members can share in the excitement. I cannot wait for these to come out! Quote
wolfx Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Might have to gloss the motor-slave. It looks too plasticky. Quote
