I was blown away by these machines on my trip to Tokyo, if the arcade scene wasn't dead in a great deal of america (Non major cities) I think these things would be a windfall and a nice way for arcade owners to diversify just a little bit and sell collectible cards for extra income.

They had them for Football, Soccer, Horseracing, Gundam, Baseball, I know I am forgetting some of the machines I saw, it was just awesome.

there's an arcade in the city that brings in lots of Japanese games, it had the one Macross arcade game (the one based on the original series). It had the Initial D game with the saveable cards... and it had Gundam DX... so I could see them getting it... but can you play the card game without the machine? and how language intensive are the cards?

Yeah...its all about deck combinations and positions. Everything on the card is self explnatory cuz it uses symbols except for "special abilities" that require japanese or a guide to tell u what it does. Or just play testing to see what happens when u initiate the special. You do need to know the game mechanics though.
