Hattori Hanzo Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 (edited) My first real custom 1/48th VF-1S. I've admired all the customs from other MW'ers and tried my hand at it. All I need now is an airbrush and some talent and I'll try some more. Let me know what you think. Edited January 8, 2007 by Hattori Hanzo Quote
jenius Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 (edited) I dig it in fighter mode but in battroid it looks like a black guy in a white suit. I have nothing against black guys, or white suits but I feel like something is missing in that mode. Obvioulsy good work and 100x better than I could ever do. Edit - Just looked at the close-ups, I really like the detail work and effects. Edited January 8, 2007 by jenius Quote
Scream Man Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 (edited) Yeah looks great man. What colour did u use? It seems a rather dirty white, which is quite cool. The black head doesnt QUITE suit though... Edited January 8, 2007 by Scream Man Quote
cube Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 yea, id do the head and hands light too...the rest looks rad though Quote
mojacko Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 maybe a little decals or stickers will help...and yeah....off with the black head..... Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Nice scheme, I like it a lot!!! The black head looks menacing to me. Quote
HoveringCheesecake Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I'm digging the fighter mode. The black head... I dunno. It just looks more plain to me than anything else. Quote
kung flu Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Great job, i wish i had the guts to do up my yamatos, they just so expensive, i wouldn't dare alter them in case i make a big mess which is highly likely. Anyway yours look great i like your chosen colour scheme looks bad ass. Quote
Hattori Hanzo Posted January 9, 2007 Author Posted January 9, 2007 Thanks for the kind words. I was a little scared to spend $130 plus just to dismantle it and paint it, but I'm happy with the results. I originally had planned to have more black accents which explains the head and hands, but liked it this way more. The paint scheme is 2 cans of Testors Flat Gull Gray spray, and dry brushed Gunship gray for "weathering". I also hand painted the panel lines with Gunship gray, which IMO looks better than using markers. Once again thanks for your comments and I cant wait to make another. Quote
