Apollo Leader Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 (edited) It was early December 2000 when Shawn launched the first full blown forum. 6 years later, this forum is still going strong. I myself I believe was like the 6th person to sign up on the original forum; of course the August 2003 relaunch resulted in all of us having to rejoin from scratch. Anyone wants to hedge any bets that we'll be around for a 10th anniversary? Edited December 14, 2006 by Apollo Leader Quote
kensei Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Hell yeah. With the stuff that's coming out from Yamato and others, as well as a possible new series from what I gather of Graham's taunts. Quote
Apollo Leader Posted December 14, 2006 Author Posted December 14, 2006 Hell yeah. With the stuff that's coming out from Yamato and others, as well as a possible new series from what I gather of Graham's taunts. Anything could happen in 4 years and Shawn might decide that it's not worth it or may not have anytime to dedicate to it, though a lot of things being done for the site and for the forums are being handled by Graham and the other moderators. eugimon Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 omg... if graham knows about a new series, it's because he's seen the toys for a new series from yamato.... <<< pure speculation. But yeah, I stumbled on this site when I was looking for those first macross plus releases from yamato and through moves, job changes, marriage and children (child). Quote
SpacyAce2012 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 A new series would be good. You won't see me complaining. As for these boards, it's nice to have a place where fans can interact. A heartfelt thanks to the folks who made it happen. Quote

Duh, of course. As requested my bet is on the fact that there is a high probability, given that a fair amount of stuff is happening. I love the fact that we have a bigger team. Delegation is a wonderful thing, and it keeps the place fresh and busy. Quote
JsARCLIGHT Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 6 Years.... wow. I remember I lurked for a while on the old forums and finally signed up in I think spring of 2001, been here since. When you finally figure out that you've been at a place longer than you were in high school or college it kind of messes with your head. Quote
Roy Focker Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Six years? Six Year? God are we a sad lot. Quote
Nied Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Good lord 6 years!? Wow. Like JsARCLIGHT I lurked for a month or two before finally joining in late January. It's hard to believe that when I started on this forum I was a sophomore in college and now here I am almost six years later a married man living on the other side of the country... I feel old. Quote
azrael Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Six years? Six Year? God are we a sad lot. Yeh, tell me about it.... Quote
UN Spacy Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 I'm NOT too old for this $#1T! Anyways. I just checked the old boards and I registered on 12/22/01! YIKES! This place sure has been a rollercoaster ride. Quote
Mr March Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Impressive. Six years of nothing but bliss! Well, not exactly, but it's been plenty of fun to be sure. And, a lot of well spent fundage I'm sure I wasn't here quite as long ago as six years ago. I couldn't have signed up at launch. There was already a board community in swing with many members when I first arrived. I didn't lurk all that long if I remember correctly. I know it's a couple years, but I can't remember how many. Maybe two, perhaps three at most? Too bad the forums got rebooted Quote
Lightning Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 God, this place was where I went to during my high school computer classes since I would be done before everybody......that was August of '02....I've been here too long... Quote
myk Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 January '01. I can't even remember anything from that time... Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 wow, has it really been that long? And I'm still on here? I lurked on the old boards a lot, but finally decided to join up when I found somebody selling the VF-19s Blazer valk chrome version for only 65 bucks! I was like damn, I have to join so I can buy it. And the rest, like they say, is history! Quote
Keith Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 I can't even remember when I finally came over here. I just remember it took AFM grinding to a halt to finally make me poke my head at what was going on here. Quote
Wes Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 So you're telling me I've wasted 4 years of my life on you losers?! Aww who am I kidding, I would have wasted them some other way... Quote
yellowlightman Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Pretty certain I joined up early '03, January or February. Got back into Macross around that time because of Macross Zero. I was into Macross (and Robotech) back in the early days of the forum, but never joined up because of the reputation MW had for being filled with apefaces. Quote
Mechamaniac Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Wow, January 02 for me.... Has it been that long since I talked to my wife and/or kids? Quote
Scream Man Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Ik now i came here when the 1/72 scale toys were being talked about. This site is what taught me how Macross and Robotech differed and what exactly i was talking about Im glad itss till going strong. Quote
Mr March Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 I'm NOT too old for this $#1T! Anyways. I just checked the old boards and I registered on 12/22/01! YIKES! This place sure has been a rollercoaster ride. Damn, I'd forgotten about the old forums being posted online! I just checked the my account... *jaw drops* My sign up date is June 11, 2001! I had 1,980 posts on the old board and was member 525. Five and a half years...I had no idea I've been here that long. That's...scary! Where'd the time go? It's so bizarre thinking about it now. The forums were barely six months old when I joined up. I really don't recall the website being that new at all. For some reason, I remember the community feeling large and well established when I joined. Then again, my recollection seems to be a little hazy, I can't even remember that I've been here almost 6 years Quote
Lightning Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 maybe we should do an "MW Timeline" of most of the major events: Flame wars, Toy wars, RT.com baiting wars, various people getting banned, etc... Quote
JsARCLIGHT Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Sounds like a timeline of the negative. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 November 01' The days of RoLo's and RTH's 1/55 customs, "she who shall not be named", the launch of the 1/60 VF-1 series and so many other memories Quote
JKeats Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Sheesh, can't believe it's been that long. Been kicking around since the AFM days when everybody had different names. Quote
Scream Man Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 heh i joined up on May 19th 2001 and had 310 posts on the old board. Quote
Skullsixx Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 I know I had a previous name but I can't even remember what it was. Oh well... goes to show ya how long we've all been here. Good to be around and see us all still going strong!!! Quote
Keith Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Guess I joined up sooner than I thought. Posts: 2870 Joined: Mar. 2001 Quote
Dangard Ace Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 March 2002. I was the newest new Mod back there....f'ing old fart mod now. Roys a fossil. Quote
White Knight Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Been around since alt.fan macross, posted under this name and a bunch of others (I posted so infrequently I could never remember my name). I made some friends a long time ago here, there was this kid who went to Columbia B school, and another guy who was a JAG lawyer in NY. Also remember Yoshi, Rick the Hunter, and Rosario Love. I don't see any of those guys around anymore unless they are using different names. Quote
MicronianDevil Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 (edited) I've been a member of MW since Jun. 2002. Over 4 years! Wow time does fly. I believe I found this place on my quest to start collecting Valks again. I found a Valk auction on eBay that had a link to Valkyrie-Exchange. The links on that site led me here. Been here ever since. Edited December 24, 2006 by MicronianDevil Quote
Chowser Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I've been a member of MW since Jun. 2002. Over 4 years! Wow time does fly. Been here ever since. I hate to say it, I found MW by way of RT.com. I'm searching the net because I saw an ad for Toynami's Masterpiece. I preordered through Valkyrie-Exchange, and through Valkyrie-Exchange, I found MW. So I guess I've been here since a year before the first MP of crap came out. Quote
Mr March Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I remember finding Macross World during a search for Macross on an older search engine, perhaps Yahoo. I also found Macross Mecha Designs, the old RPG site this way. RT.com actually didn't come a long until much later if I remember correctly. Quote
