Duymon Posted May 8 Posted May 8 (edited) OOOh Finally. Python will be an instabuy and I guess I'll need to get some brockens. The python looks like it might be a simpler kit much like the three utility labors (bulldog / hercules / Boxer) so I hope it's bundled as a pair or maybe with something else simple. Really hope they get the Phantom and Saturn too Edited May 8 by Duymon Quote

electric indigo Posted July 29 Posted July 29 One of the next ARTPLA releases seems to be a set of figures. Quote

electric indigo Posted July 30 Posted July 30 It would be a smart move if Bandai re-released it's 1/35 IXTL kit in the near future... Quote

Duymon Posted July 30 Posted July 30 (edited) Artpla are just remastered / improved versions of the older soft vinyls but in plastic I thought. They look amazing but sadly I don't have as much time to invest in large-scale models like that and will stick to casual moderoids that only need a few parts painted here or there. I guess for now for anyone that does want high quality premades Robodou is basically the only game in town atm as Bandai ungloriously abandoned their side labor series years ago Edited July 30 by Duymon Quote
electric indigo Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Actually, the ARTPLA Ingram is a completely new digital sculpt, and it's one of the best quality mecha kits I've build; easily on the level of today's Tamiya kits. Yes, you have to paint it, but the seamless parts breakdown makes even that an uncomplicated affair. Quote
kajnrig Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Is this the same line as the Evangelion "statue" model kits from not too long ago? IIRC there were two, one of a berserk Eva-01 and one of a Beast mode Eva-02. I believe there was also a... Gunbuster?... one, too. Quote

electric indigo Posted August 1 Posted August 1 Ingram is finished. I'll take more photos once the sun comes back. Quote
Jeremy007 Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Beautiful work. I am going to start my artpla ingram soon. What colors did you use? Quote
electric indigo Posted August 2 Posted August 2 (edited) Custom mixes of Tamiya acrylics – the white is gloss white shaded over a sky grey base, green is a 1:1 mix of deep green and medium blue over a flat black base, and the light blue ist 5:1:1 white and sky grey and light blue over a dark sea grey base. Jeremy007 Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Thanks so much for the info and reply. I am definitely going to try those out. I was going to use tamiya JN green but its a bit too green….the green needs to be green/gray or green/blue in my opinion so your mix sounds perfect. Quote

I will be stealing that recipe for those colors or my Aoshima reactive ingrams Quote
electric indigo Posted August 3 Posted August 3 I mixed it after my favorite pants & bomber jacket 😁 Quote
