kajnrig Posted August 10 Posted August 10 I love the molding of the straps and minute folds and wrinkles. It looks perfectly like real padding on top of real metal. And I bet the EXTL Labor cost a pretty penny, too. Yikes. 16 hours ago, electric indigo said: 1/72 Eagle Kai Was the STOL/MTD F-15 completed by the time of this animation? Did it inspire the Kai, or was this a case of convergent evolution? Because thee Kai looks a LOT like a combat-ready STOL/.MTD. Quote
electric indigo Posted August 11 Posted August 11 @kajnrig I tried Madarake for the first time and got the IXTL at the original retail price, but shipping & customs are killing me these days. Quote

tekering Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Finally, an Ingram to scale with CMs' Patlabor figures! 😍 Kaiyodo's "Mega Sofubi" Reactive Armor Ingram, to be exact. This is Unit 1... ...the only one I could afford, sadly. 😐 But you know, I had to have at least one. 😎 Quote

MechTech Posted September 13 Posted September 13 @tekering That's cool! The detail is pretty good too. @no3Ljm Thanks for posting! That is AWESOME! I like how the actuators are quiet. The motors don't sound like a garbage disposal running like some projects have had. - MT Quote
Bobby Posted September 18 Posted September 18 Cool mashup by Ed__It with a HG Grimgerde+Jesta+Astaroth (full album here) Quote

Duymon Posted September 20 Posted September 20 (edited) Kinda blegh about the AV-98+. The flat and sharply angled shoulders clash with the classic ingram curves and if they were gonna do away with the two left antennae by making them into a single fin they might as well just have mimicked the Peacemaker / X0 symettrical fin design. The sharp angular panel lines on the inner calves weren't needed and look out of place. While the more sporty angular waist armor looks cool they need to add the black police line in the middle like on the original. Instead of making updates to a classic and perfected design I would rather they went with the AV-2 Variant or a completely new labor outright. Edited September 20 by Duymon Quote
electric indigo Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I agree that the design changes are totally unnecessary. You can't improve perfection. Quote
Tking22 Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Looks fine to me, I can barely tell a difference, and I have a bunch of Patlabor figures and have seen all the movies, OVAs and series, I'm just hyped to finally get some new media. Quote
Big s Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I prefer the original. This one is definitely thinner in a lot of places, but it doesn’t bug me, just that I love the og . Its been so long that I forgot if this is a show or movie or whatever else at this point. Quote
F-ZeroOne Posted September 20 Posted September 20 I'd also prefer the original, though TBH I didn't overly notice the changes until they were pointed out. It says something about how good the original design was that it still looks great to this day. Quote
todd77 Posted September 21 Posted September 21 Same here, the angular shapes of the shoulder armor doesn't work for me and the new antenna fin looks odd. Should have just gone with the original as that's pretty much perfect. Quote
MechTech Posted September 23 Posted September 23 I agree with keeping it original. In art, you should keep symmetry to some degree. Mixing angles with curves can backfire - not always - but it can. It does here. - MT Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted September 23 Posted September 23 The changes are minor, but yeah, why mess with perfection? Quote

electric indigo Posted October 7 Posted October 7 I didn't care much about the IXTL when the Bandai kit came out, but when I built it as a companion to the ARTPLA Ingram, I leaned to appreciate the subtle complexity of the seemingly simple volumes that define the design. Another timeless Izubuchi masterpiece. IXTL from the Patlabor 2 soundtrack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VsSwN7GaZM Quote
