jenius Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I always thought "Turd" was a lovely color. Quote
Hikuro Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I'm more curious where the Shin figure came from. Quote
Guppy Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I always thought "Turd" was a lovely color. haha, that's the first thing I thought of too. Quote
Dat Pinche Haro! Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 well imo, it'd give someone who loves the toy a better reason to custom paint a scheme on to the toy, especially with the pilot/rider Quote
bigkid24 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 The figure looks okay but I barely care enough to get the first one let alone some nameless guy's. Quote
Shaggydog Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 It looks great to me, but the big question is whether Yamato will fix the problems with the first Garland. Graham, any info on this? Thanks Quote
Poonman Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 The figure looks okay but I barely care enough to get the first one let alone some nameless guy's. I'm kind of interested in the red one so what problems did it suffer from? Quote
Eternal_D Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 i think they had problems with the shoulder...I forget exactly what but it broke easily. I have an extra red one if you want, PM me! lol about this new one...the pilot does look interesting...but that paint scheme def does not. Quote
EXO Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Mine broke on both shoulders finally. I hope they made improvements before they decided to repaint it. That's absolutely f'd up if they didnt. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 (edited) Yay! This is great news! My Garland is holding fine, so I'm definitely getting the repaint. I always thought that the Garland always looked better in military colors, besides I intend to dress it up with some of Devin's custom decals. Damn, I'm such a Garland fanboy I'd even buy a Low vis Version! So when is this one supposed to be released? Edit: Nevermind. The link says March 2007. It also says: "Accessories: Shogo Figure, (2) Yui Takanaka Figure, Military Figure, Laser Orb Gun" Edited November 10, 2006 by Lonely Soldier Boy Quote
glane21 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 They're throwing in some nice extras. Soldier figure with removeable helmet and Shinji heads, standing and sitting Yui figures. They know they have to add some enticements due to the bad press on the shoulders. Quote
drifand Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Extras are welcome but some kind of improvement in the shoulders would be REAL GOOD NEWS. Stop dropping the ball, Yamato! Quote
Macross73 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 i'll wait till theres confirmation that this isnt gonna break. Quote
ShadowerV2 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I wonder if they will ever make the Garland from the 3rd MegaZone OVA. What was the name of that Garland? The EX Garland or something. Personally I Prefer the color to be green but I like the Soldier figure included. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Green would be sweet, but what I'd really love is the paint to have a dull finish unlike the red version that's supposed to be shiny. What I'll never understand is why Yamato didn't made a fully articulated Shogo like the Chirico Cuvie figure that is amazing. Quote
Macross73 Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 just saw this for preorder on HLJ for $135.72 thats the early bird price . Good till Nov 24th. Its due out in February. http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT33968 Quote
drifand Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Its due out in February. http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT33968 That's loooong time for a 'turd' to come out. Quote

Graham Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I asked about the problem with the Garland's shoulders and the metal front wheel bars and was told they have been redesigned. Hopefully all the issues are resolved, but after having two ver.1 break on me in identical places both on the first transformation, I'm somewhat leery of these toys. Anyway, I only have space for Macross in my house now, especially with all the cool stuff scheduled for release over the next few years. Graham Quote
wolfx Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Anyway, I only have space for Macross in my house now, especially with all the cool stuff scheduled for release over the next few years. Graham ARGHHHH!!! WHAT'S COMING OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS.....CURSE YOU GRAHAM!! Quote

Graham Hi Graham, Do you know if they are going to reissue the Red Version with shoulder and wheel bar fixes? thanks. Quote
Poonman Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 thanks for the info about the shoulders and stuff... guess I can wait on a Mk. II to come out before I pick one up... Quote
Chowser Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Yamato should give ver. 1 buyers a refit kit with the new figures as an apology. I have not even transformed mine since I got it. I doubt that I ever will. which sucks because the robot mode looks bada$$. Quote
Desert_tiger Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I'm more curious where the Shin figure came from. I think thats Shinji, Shogo's buddy the test pilot, who introduced Shogo to the Garland. Can't quite tell because in the movie the characters were actually STANDING UP!!! I just don't get it. How can you make an extremely complex fully transforming robot, but have to make TWO WHOLE SEPARATE human figures for sitting or standing? What is so hard about a ball and socket joint???? Sigh, I'm gonna hafta get it anyways because I'm a Megazone Nut. I do this in hopes that one day there will be a shiny blue Hargun, B.D., and 2 EVE figures (one sitting and one standing I guess). Dangaioh Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 That's loooong time for a 'turd' to come out. Metamucial should do the trick. Quote
Macross73 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Metamucial should do the trick. I'd like this thing more if it wasnt for the concerns over the 1st version. I may get one. Maybe once more reviews come out on this. Quote
ShadowerV2 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Metamucial should do the trick. I think in this case it might be "Mecha"mucial. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Yamato should give ver. 1 buyers a refit kit with the new figures as an apology. I have not even transformed mine since I got it. I doubt that I ever will. which sucks because the robot mode looks bada$$. Go ahead and transform it. Mine's been through a couple dozen transformations and it's doing fine!!! Robot mode is unbelievable great and very poseable. Give it a try I'm buying this repaint cause I'm a Megazone nut too! Quote
drifand Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Why can`t they sell Yui alone 'Cause that would be OUT OF CHARACTER for Yamato's marketing dept. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 I only have space for Macross in my house now, especially with all the cool stuff scheduled for release over the next few years. Graham I bet other companies and especailly Bandai will make new Macross toys for the 25th anniversary. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Seems like Yamato is reissuing the red Garland. Could this be the redesigned shoulders version? http://www2.moeyo.com/img/06/11/25/3/355.html And it comes with the Ovas! My Garland is fine, but if I see any real improvement on the military issue I just preordered, I'll might have to order this one also Quote
