captain america Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Hi everyone. Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated I plan to begin sculpting my newest project: a 1/72 scale Destroid Tomahawk MBR-04 MK VII very shortly. The model would be $110.00, and that includes the decals. As such, I was wondering who would be interested? The model would be based on my previous Destroid Phalanx, and as such would also have a detailed cockpit, detailed chest missile bays, and decals which will also include nose (leg) art Anyone who's interested, just send me a PM with the following information: -your full name and mailing address -your email address -your MW screen name -the number of kits you'd like As usual, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask Quote
jorawar_b Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 As always cap add me in for 1. Also capt, when will the decals for the Phalanx ship out? Quote

HWR MKII Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Do i really have to say it? Do I? HUH? IM IN. John is your resin blended with Crack or something? I cant resist it. Quote
promethuem5 Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I'll have to take a look at my current finances, but I'm certianly interested in seeing some prelim pics... especially for the detail bits. Quote
captain america Posted November 8, 2006 Author Posted November 8, 2006 (edited) John is your resin blended with Crack or something? I cant resist it. Crack AND crystal meth... It adds flavor! I'll be posting the first pics next week in my usual manner; keep an eye on the Samurai Monkey forums. The detail will be quite similar to what was done on the Phalanx. Incidentally, is the large square thingamabob on the Tomahawk's right shoulder a spotlight? Just checking, as my reference material is all in japanese, and I want to do things right. HWR MKII Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I think the shoulder box is a 6 chamber missile lancher but i could be wrong. Ill have to look in parfect memory to tell. Quote
Berttt Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 The left shoulder definitely looks like a searchlight. HWR is correct, the right shoulder is some kind of heavy missile launcher. Quote

HWR is correct, the right shoulder is some kind of heavy missile launcher. Yup, the right shoulder pod holds 6 missiles which look kinda similar to the Phalanx missiles, but with larger fins and I think an extended nosecone. I'll be working closely with my Perfect Memory book, as I usually do Quote
HWR MKII Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Left shoulder is definitely a searchlight and the right is the missile pod. Are there any weird heads or paint schemes for the Tomahawk like there were on the Phalanx? Quote
Penguin Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 PM sent. Just gotta get in on my favourite destroid. Quote
THOR Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 sweet...just too bad i missed out on his last 2-3 kits... Quote
Ghadrack Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Not to sound like a shameless shill, but seriously, these kits are the bee's knees. Don't hesitate, these are some of, if not, the best "garage" kits ever offered for Macross fans. Quote
HWR MKII Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Too bad John couldnt get Shoji's blessing to produce whatever he wanted without worrying about "corporate" interferance. Talk about opening flood gates huh. Either way dont pass up on one of Johns kits if you can get it. Best value for moey i have ever seen. Quote

electric indigo Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I'm sure you did your research, but - the head looks too big. Otherwise, impressive work as always. -i- Quote
captain america Posted November 24, 2006 Author Posted November 24, 2006 The model was constructed with diagrams contained in Perfect Memory; front, side, and back views like the one below. The perspective shots have considerable "distortions", and vary greatly from one to another, so those were just used for detailing. Quote
Ranger565 Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 I had asked the same question on the SM forums, Trust me His work will be perfect when its finnished. Quote
promethuem5 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Good crap, it;s absurd how fast you crank these things out... can't wait to see more. Quote
RT junkie Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Capt, What are the odds of some of these being around after the holidays? I would so love to snatch one up, but it's real tight this time of year. Santa has to come to town for my kids - so Daddy's toy purchases have to take a back seat for a bit. Have you set an ordering deadline? Quote

Have you set an ordering deadline? Hi RT. I'll most likely be casting into January, since it's a long process. If you'd like me to set one aside for you, just LMK. Quote
Dax415 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 hey Cap! pm sent - though in the same circumstances as RT junkie, but for a different reason. was there a certain time you needed a deposit or anything? thanks dax415 Quote
