F-ZeroOne
Assemble Insert is recommended to Patlabor fans; much of the same creative staff worked on it and you'll probabl notice a few seeds being sown...! And if you haven't seen Project A-Ko yet - what the hell is wrong with you?!

Area88
FSStories is available on youtube if you care to watch it. Youtube is really bad quality plus i don't like encouraging piracy. I'd much rather buy the dvd, knowing that i'm supporting the anime companies while watching it on a nice big tv. Also special mention to Prefectural Earth Defence Force:
Area88
LATEST ANIME BARGAIN Weathering Continent dvd - $9.99 Fans of Arion, Five Star Stories and Greek Mythology should check out this title. It's one of the best hidden gems that almost nobody knows about but should see at all costs. Made in 1992, it's one of the last anime movies to use 80's style character designs. Also a great price considering it retails at $30. Edited November 24, 2006 by Area88
Dangard Ace
Weathering Continent is a great little D&D type fantasy one-shot. IIRC it's got a Dead City, creepy thread monsters, and magic/sword fighting(duh!)
Valkyrie
Last month I got the Cyber Formula TV series boxed set for $6.99 at Fry's If you've got a Fry's near you, see if they've got any. Their stock number is 3852367. Oh, and it's not listed on their web site. I checked

Also special mention to Prefectural Earth Defence Force: I don't support piracy either, but if you want to sample it before you buy the dvd then it is a good resource. It is one thing to preview it and another to search for downloads. I first preview and then support the company by purchasing the dvd. Area88
Has anyone ever found RG Veda on DVD? I wanna know what happened after the second episode. Sadly only 2 episodes were made and they were both released on the same dvd. Apparently the series didn't sell well enough when it was originally being released in Japan back in 1991. In order to continue with the story you have to read the manga. Edited December 3, 2006 by Area88

Mechamaniac
LOL, Five Star Stories...I can't watch that without thinking about Star Trek V...why does God need a Starship? "Why does God need a mobile suit?" For $6.99 I guess you won't feel TOO ripped off, unless that doesn't include shipping, in which case, it's a total gank. Dendrobius
LOL, Five Star Stories...I can't watch that without thinking about Star Trek V...why does God need a Starship? "Why does God need a mobile suit?" When the God in question is a total nutcase and a lolicon, of course he needs a starship to get to his target and a golden Mortar Headd to convince her that he's got the bling. Also, nobody else but a crazy God is stupid enough to put a sawn-off Buster Cannon on a bloody MH anyway. (Buster Cannon = scaled down Macross Cannon, you can use it to carve up continents, really!) stram8777
This is an amazingly helpful thread, but I was wondering if we could stop limiting it to 80's anime and just make it an anime bargain thread. That seems infinitely more useful.
