mslz22 Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 So Nov 1 is upon us and i am about 5 or 6 days away from closing the big casting shop and moving on to scratchbuilding for spring releases. I have said in other threads that i was considering making both a 1/2000 scale DYRL macross cruiser, and a 1/32 scale yf 19, so the ? is how many people are really interested in kits assuming the cost will be around that of the monster.....any other suggestions for kits is welcome, but keep in mind that what i would prefer to build is the really unique big stuff.... thanks mike Quote
cobywan Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 I would be ALL over the SDF-1. I prefer the TV version myself but the movie one is good too. Quote
Less than Super Ostrich Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 (edited) change my mind... this guy needs a BIG BROTHER Edited November 2, 2006 by Less than Super Ostrich Quote
THOR Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 (edited) I'd be all over a 1/32 YF-19! Would it come with pilot(s), landing gear, missiles, and fold device? It would go great with my 1/35th VF-1S! -THOR Edited November 1, 2006 by THOR Quote
Valkyrie Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 SDF-1, definitely. Preferably the movie type Quote
HWR MKII Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 1/32 19 here. It will look good with my Mig-21, SU-27, F-15E and Tornado. Quote
jardann Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Would really prefer the SDF-1 TV or movie version! Quote
big F Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 (edited) 2 feet of SDF shaped resin, where to put it. I dont mind which one but I guess asking for the optional parts to make eaither is asking a bit much. If I had to chooose I`d say DYRL just because most of my stuff is DYRL. Ghadrack Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 If you do the SDF-1 and it is pretty close in price to your monster kit, I'll buy 2 Quote
thegunny Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 I'd be up for a SDF-1 but would prefer the TV version. Quote
hirohawa Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Put me down for one of each. Also sent you a PM Thanks Steve Quote
promethuem5 Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 A 1/32 YF-19 would actually be the most awesome model ever... Quote
darklord4 Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 The scale on the YF-19 wouldn't fit with my other models, and I'm not a big fan of the SDF in cruiser mode, movie or TV. No main guns! I'd like a big attack-mode SDF, movie or otherwise, though I'd like the TV better(Aircraft carriers and giant robot! ) Others... What about the recovery pod that the Zentraedi use to recover the cat's eye in 1/72 scale to go with a cats eye? or a big scale ARMD platform? or the Theatre scout pod that spy's on the Minmei concert? or the Zentraedi Landing craft in either 1/200 or 1/100(!) scale? Quote
isamu_dyson Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Considering The 1/60 yamato (even if it's about half the size of a 1/32 one) i'd be up for the SDF-1 ! I'd prefer a movie type.. but if you're making an TV type, I'm on it too lol Quote
THOR Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 How about a 1/6 scale YF-19! My g/f would love that! Quote
HWR MKII Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 How about a 1/6 scale YF-19! My g/f would love that! That would look good next to my 1/6 Leo2A6 Quote
big F Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 How about a 1/6 scale YF-19! My g/f would love that! Wouldnt it be like one of those cars you can put your kids in and they can drive all over you lawn. I have seen a Porche one a Landrover and a Humvee one. Shame you cant get it to fly as your kids would be uber cool then. Quote
Sweet-1 Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 +/- $50 what would the price be for a 1/32 YF-19? I'd be interested, but with all the awesome stuff out on SSM, MW and other sites, budget is a big thing. Would there be any chance of a VF-19 conversion? Quote
THOR Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 (edited) I have the yf-19 Hasegawa decal line drawings scanned and blown up to 1/35th and sitting on my wall above my desk. It would be easy to plot out a 1/32nd scale version for your scratchbuilding..... I scanned in the vf-1 and vf-0, too, in fighter and battroid modes.... -THOR Edited November 17, 2006 by THOR Quote

Ghadrack Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I can't believe that there hasn't been more of a response myself, but I am convinced that if you build it they will come..... The Macross has an eternal audience, the kits should be in demand forever as long as a toy company doesn't make a huge highly detailed replica...... Quote
Mechinyun Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 (edited) Double post 4 the win! Edited November 20, 2006 by Mechinyun Quote
Mechinyun Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 SDF-1 TV VERSION PLEASE!! Removeable carrier arms would rock! Too many DRYL versions out there already, give the TV style (better looking too imo) some luvin! Quote
big F Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 If you start a thread titled SDF1 1/2000 scratch built kit and place some pictures of a pile ofstyrene sheets and some reference art, your bound to get soem interest. Quote
HWR MKII Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Just like the monster nooe really showed interest until the first images of parts arrived. Seeing how you have a wing of the 19 done already id continue with that. Also the 19 is a simpler subject to master compared to the detail hog that the macross wil be. I say just pick the one that wont kill you to make. We all remember how sick you got during construction of the monster. Quote
cokefiend Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Like LTSO I have that Macross kit already but I would LOVE and 1/2000 version. Preferably the tv one. I m a fan of both tv and movie versions but the tv one is my first love. Quote
jadefalconguard Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Whatever you build I'll prob. take one, but I tend to be in favor of the YF 19 Quote
cowie165 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 JFG you gotta finish your 1/48 dio first! updateorban Quote
Mechinyun Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Nobody is going to buy a yf-19 when yamato is pushing out an almost perfect 1/48 any day now. The macross itself is sorely lacking in quality offerings, especially in larger size (the key issue). Stick with that, make a mint and make my dreams come true. Also I agree on retitling this thread to be more specific. Quote
THOR Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Who'd buy a toy when you can have a model kit? hehehe... A cool diorama would be the Macross punching through a Star Wars battle ship or crushing a Star Trek ship. Quote
cowie165 Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 A cool diorama would be the Macross punching through a Star Wars battle ship or crushing a Star Trek ship. Seeing the SDF-1 stomping an Enterprise would be soooooo funny. You could then display it at the next Trekkie convention and aggravate all the fanboys Quote
