I never stopped. In fact, on my 18th birthday I bought just over a dozen Episode I figures from Toys R Us.

the first "real" toy I bought after childhood was the Yamato VF1A Hikaru

waiting for the 1/48 to be released

It was all a matter of time though, when I was finally able to buy overseas

I would've bought a 1/55 out of nostalgia anyway

I kind of dabbled here and there for a while, but didn't go full time until I discovered Binaltech. Mostly I just built Gundam kits.

My friends and I started buying the new Star Wars line in the mid-90s. That lasted a few years. But eventually gave up on it.

Same here. More specifically it was the Galoob Star Wars Micro Machines that initially got me hooked when I was 20.

jetfire, yamato 1/48, gakken 1/35....

Not only because I like the anime but also facinated about the whole marketing around it... the consistancy of the storylineand complexity in the toylines... the technical dificulties putted in a toy that eventually get bashed by wild kids.

but the jetfire and gakken are rock solid.

Toys I bought have got a high value of great achievements in history.... my opinion that is.

Well in college I was picking up Marvel figures here and there, these were the mid- to late 90's Toy Biz figures before the nice Legends lines came along. But I had maybe a couple shelves full. The toy craze didn't hit until actually I bought the MPC VF-1S then Macross, Robotech, Transformers and Gundam came forth within the last 3-4 years.
