Gaijin Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 (edited) Do you do the Halloween thing? I'm hosting a large bash this year so I'm actually playing along with the dress up thing this year. Having had some surgery last month,m I am confined to crutches for the next couple months again. So I got this: The women love it. Anyone else? Edited October 12, 2006 by Gaijin Quote
myk Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 (edited) Every year I put on a set of devil's ears and call it a day. Of course, now that I have my Alien mask... Edited October 13, 2006 by myk Quote
JsARCLIGHT Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 My wife and I hosted a halloween party last year that bombed. This year we are planning on just going to other people's parties. We always dress to match each other, last year we were Bogey and Igmar Bergman from Casablanca. This year we are going to be Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint from North By Northwest... which are almost the same costumes from last year. We're boring. Quote
gerwalk25 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I'm going to a pre-ween party on Saturday. I'm dressing up as a Baseball Furie. Quote
Tinderfitles Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 silver surfer =P or im thinking i might do what i did when my high school had there homecoming. Write "Atomsmasher" on my back paint myself orange and blue, then run around with a louiville bat. Hooray for having a severly unique mascot. Quote
Skullsixx Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I'm hittin up a party as a Roman soldier like in the film Gladiator. Quote
JKeats Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Not sure what I'm going to be this year. Not to be too off-topic or sound like a spammer but I write for an online magazine for married couples called Hitched magazine. We're holding a Halloween costume contest where you can send us pics of you and your spouse and you'll be entered to win two Nintendo DS Lites. Check it out at www.hitchedmag.com /spam rant over/ Quote
1st Border Red Devil Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Not really the same thing, but I'm going to NecronomiCon in Tampa that weekend (well, when everyone basically will celebrate Halloween instead of on the 31st). Quote
Sumdumgai Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I am going to be dressed as a homocidal maniac... In other words I've got too much stuff to do. Besides I was accused of looking like a serial killer anyway, in a psychology class. Quote
Radd Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I'll be dressed in a tuxedo for Halloween, and throwing a big bash with all of my relatives, and my fiancee's relatives, coming into town. Should be fun. Quote
HoveringCheesecake Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 If I had my cousin's lorica segmentata and his gallic legionaire helmet I'd totally wear those... too bad it is uber expensive. Quote
Ishimaru Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I might go as a Axe Gang Member from Kung Fu Hustle. Quote
Sumdumgai Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 If I were back in California without too much stuff to do, I would suggest that we gather as many guys together as possible and meet up, then run around as a giant group of Axe Gang members, and act like freaks with plastic hatchets. I love Kung Fu Hustle. Quote
azrael Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 As long as no one attempts to dress as Man-Faye, I won't complain or make any attempts at assasination. Quote
Hikuro Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Jedi.........just waiting for my anakin glove to come in (should be today if they sent it on monday) and I'll be pretty much set. Quote
areaseven Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I still have my Darth Vader mask. Just need 4 AA batteries and I'm good to go. Quote
Gaijin Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 I'm going to be a night stand. I saw a "One Night Stand" costume online. Quote
Rossi Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 (edited) I've convinced a few of my buddies to dress up as the "Deal, or No Deal?" girls...Should be pretty funny (in a dudes-in-dresses-carrying-briefcases sort of way...). I, unfortunately, will not be able to attend. My neighborhood gets swamped with hundreds of kids every year; if I left my wife alone...She'd kill me. We just moved into the town last year. I couldn't believe my eyes when I pulled onto my street! Cars were parked on all sides, and there were quads pulling kids on flatbeds up to the top of the street. Unbelieveable...I was reminded of the famous quote from Jaws when I realized we only had four bags of candy to give out: "We're gonna need a bigger boat..." Edited October 19, 2006 by Rossi Quote
007-vf1 Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I'll be the same I was last year...the all mighty Tooth Fairy... My students get a kick of it when I tell them that...they'll never see me wearing a tutu... Quote
Kelsain Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Not really the same thing, but I'm going to NecronomiCon in Tampa that weekend (well, when everyone basically will celebrate Halloween instead of on the 31st). Yeah, we thought about doing that when we moved here, but we're fairly low-key. This year a friend's hosting a movie-themed party. The wife and I are going as Godzilla and Tokyo. Still working out the Tokyo bit... Quote

Put a tall grey box on your head, one on each shoulder and wear a grey shirt with tokyo spelled in red electrical tape. Quote
Ghadrack Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I think the generic easy one is the Tower of Tokyo, it was destroyed in a few godzilla flicks and is easily recognizable. It is kinda like the eifel tower too, so you could probably make a pretty quick job out of it by using a couple overturned laundry baskets and some spray paint. Quote
Kelsain Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I was thinking of including Tokyo Tower in the costume, but I hadn't thought of making it the whole costume. It IS pretty much in scale with Godzilla.... My wife is Tokyo, and her only stipulation was that she wants lights. We were also considering adding lego people and green army men to be screaming extras. Quote
Ghadrack Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 Hehehe, well, it would be pretty funny if you made a knock off of the tower of tokyo, strung some christmas lights on it and glued lego people all over it Well that's my idea anyway Quote
Gaijin Posted October 25, 2006 Author Posted October 25, 2006 (edited) Made 200 bags of candy so far for the onslaught of kids that come every year...only 200 more to go. Last year went through nearly 400 bags. We seriously need to start thinking about going out on Halloween. Edited October 25, 2006 by Gaijin Quote
Warmaker Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 (edited) I never get to enjoy Halloween. I'm always working night crew at my squadron Edited October 26, 2006 by Warmaker Quote

1st Border Red Devil Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Note to self: Do not drink 3/4s of a bottle of honey-mead after having drank 1/4 a bottle of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum & Coca-Cola. Needless to say, I was quite sick Saturday night and ended up yarfing my guts out. I still had fun, though. Quote
Vince Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 not that I was going to do this, but this kind of neat. video link http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1719034 Quote
