do not disturb Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 (edited) so i was rearranging my shelves this weekend making space for the new yamato releases when i started thinking, i wonder what other transformable airplane toys are out there? and who makes them? i thought it would be fun to try and compile a 'one of each' list based on different transformations and scales(no varients and colors). so if you can think of any, please post. cool transformable airplane toys: 1/48 - VF-1 - yamato 1/60 - VF-1 - yamato 1/60 - VF-0 - yamato 1/55 - VF-1 - bandai/takatoku/hasbro 1/35 - Alpha - gakken 1/?? - beta - gakken/lansay 1/55 VF-1 MPC - toynami 1/55 alpha MPC - toynami 1/72 - YF-19 1/72 - YF-21 1/72 - VF-11 1/100 - konig monster VF-17 - bandai VF-19S - bandai VF-1 - banpresto 1/100 VF-1 - toynami Aquarion attack type - Bandai Aquarion regular type - Bandai VF-1 - joke machines - matchbox VF-1 - morphers - toynami....these are very suspect! Transformers, so bad they need their own list: MP starscream - hasbro G1 starscream/thrust/etc, all of them are the same. Edited October 2, 2006 by haterist Quote
EXO Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Looks like you're gonna go outside of Macross realm. gobots and there's those little egg type transformers of actual jets. Quote
Roy's Blues Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 (edited) Aquarion attack type - Bandai Aquarion regular type - Bandai Edited October 2, 2006 by Roy's Blues Quote
ghostryder Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 (edited) Maybe we can limit this list somehow, like post-WWII and fictional non-prop fighters only, and excluding toys that are totally gay. That way we don't have to remember every single POS Gobot that was made (except for Royal T). Edited October 2, 2006 by ghostryder Quote
do not disturb Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 haha, i should've limited to somewhat decent transforming airplane toys....which would exclude gobots and crappy toys of the like. Quote
ghostryder Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 haha, i should've limited to somewhat decent transforming airplane toys....which would exclude gobots and crappy toys of the like. ... yeh, the Aerialbots sneak under the wire just because they're gestaults Quote
jenius Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 What about shuttles like AstroTrain and autobot shuttle that transformed into a dragon? Quote
ghostryder Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 (edited) Blitzwing! (Mig-25) Notice that I did not include Broadside, which was a wannbe F-18, but was just a brick with a nosecone and wings Edited October 2, 2006 by ghostryder Quote
big F Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 What about shuttles like AstroTrain and autobot shuttle that transformed into a dragon? You mean Sky lynx. he`s a tripple changer. You gonna include Helicopters in that ? Quote
EXO Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 it's all crappy if it aint macross... The only decent looking one otherwise would be MP Starscream, and that's still Kawamori! Gakken's 1/35 Alpha passes though. Quote

do not disturb Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 if its a helicopter/airplane/shuttle its cool, pretty much anything aviation related its cool as long as it doesn't look like a brick with wings per ghostyders post. Quote
jenius Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I know it macross But the First CHUNKY MOnkey!!! He's there under 1/55 VF-1 Taka/Bandai/Hasbro Quote
do not disturb Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 I know it macross But the First CHUNKY MOnkey!!! jetfire is in there but it falls into the same catagory as 1/55 bandai/takatoku. you gotta find ones that have unique transformations. Quote
jenius Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 I forget what show it was from but I believe it's a Kawamori design, Whirl the helicopter?? Quote
Twoducks Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 (edited) How about the 1/60 PG or the 1/100 MG Z Gundam? Big, complex and it turns into a shuttle/airplane thinggy (you still have to build them though). http://old.rfdh.com/dal6102/pg/p04/p04_trans.htm Oooh, and for even weirder looking shuttles you have the two that form the upcoming SOC Gunbuster. Edited October 2, 2006 by Twoducks Quote
ghostryder Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 (edited) Well, for the sake of variety, I'll retract my earlier Gobot statement. I had no idea there were so many, and actually based on real military aircraft. Most are on par with the aerialbots, in terms or suckiness: Gobot Jets - Spy Eye (Tornado) - super gobot Leader-1 (F-15) - normal and super gobot Bad Boy (A-10) Heat Seaker (F-16) Mach 3 (F-4) Sky Jack (F-14) Bullseye (B-1) Gunnyr (Mig-21) Royal T (Harrier) Gobot Props - Zero (Zero) Ace (P-51) Bentwing (F-4U Corsair) Then there's the more recent TF decepticon jet mutations: Galaxy Force (Su-27) Armada (VF-11 copycat?) Energon (F-22) Edited October 2, 2006 by ghostryder Quote
do not disturb Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 (edited) wow that some list ghostryder! i take it all of those are transformers? oh and as far as the ariel bots, they're borderline gobots. i only included them because of childhood nostalgia, otherwise they shouldn't really be on the list. twoducks, no models, no kits, its gotta be a toy straight out the box. that thing is really cool though...i should consider getting some gundams to mess around with. do not disturb Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 so after looking at some pics, i've decided that transformers are not allowed, atleast not the craptastic ones which is a majority of the line. sorry to you transformer collectors out there but i can't even begin to grasp why/how you can collect the....worst....toys....ever! heres some examples of what i'm talking about... and my personal favorite.... ROTFLMAO! i'm still laughing at some of these pictures as i'm going down the list to see what everything looks like. the new title for this thread shoudl be changed to, transformable airplane toys people should never buy. do not disturb Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 its cool to list the bad ones too, this thread is all in fun anyway. beside, i'm actually having a blast googling for the images of these ummm....toys....errrr bricks. and serious props for some of the gobots listed, what they lack in robot mode they make up for it in vechicle mode....TF's on the otherhand, well it isn't so much about which mode is the best, but more which mode isn't the worst. do not disturb Posted October 2, 2006 Author Posted October 2, 2006 hey... some of those planes have great transformations.... haha.... can't discriminate against all TF's no doubt, i actually like the G1 TF's like starscream and thrust so no discrimination. TFs are fine as long as they aren't totally craptastic. personally, i think the MP line in general is quite awesome as well as the alternators/binaltechs....whatever the line of TFs where the cars look like actual cars, and not a car shaped vehicle with wheel and visible with hinges all over it.
