Snail00 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Liger Jager is really hard to find at a decent price Quote
kaiotheforsaken Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I never got the armor kits for my metal Liger Zero. That being said BBTS has the Kotobukiya Liger Zero for pre-order, been waiting for them to do that one. Quote
Slammer Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 indeed the HMM Liger Zero looks great but you KNOW they`ll milk the crap out of it with each armor.... Quote
kaiotheforsaken Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Which I can live with I suppose. Liger Zero was my fav so I'm pretty excited to see one of that caliber coming out. They might even convince me to buy all the armor kits or w/e for it. Quote
Slammer Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 ehh, suppose we should be greatful they (so far) haven't tapped into Fuzors....that adds LOADS new HMM Zero kits.... Quote

I will get all the armor packs for the Liger Zero. One thing about HMM Zoids is that although they are very detailed they are very fragile. Here is list of zoids I want HMM'd Shadow Fox Berserker Fury Gunbluster Koenig Wolf Mad Thunder Gairyuki Rayese Tiger Death Saurer Elephander Dark Spinner Quote

Retracting Head Ter Ter Posted January 18, 2011 Author Posted January 18, 2011 For those of you who like to be able to pose/play with the zoids and are sick of Kotobukiya's 'exploding' products, Yamato has a 1/72 die-cast (just like the good old KFMs) toy out. It combines playability with excellent detail and diecast. http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT34849 Quote

Well the thing is almost 4 lbs and very big. http://robotjapan.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=SOC&thread=17099&page=1#214435 http://www.zoids-fan.net/zoikino/review/yamato_shield.html Heck, now I know that the Yamato SDF-1 really is overpriced. Here we have a product from the same company made out of more expensive materials and almost of the same size as the SDF and yet you are looking at 150 USD less shippped. Yamato seally didn't have any fait on their SDF, even when they sold three batches of their incredebly expensive model before they did the 1/3000 True, the SDF transforms... from a robot to a robot that is laying down... not really comparable to the magic they pull off on their valks. You can always wait. The great Patlabor stuff from Yamato is 50% off now; this could go the same way. Quote

Yeah, this makes the SDF-1 seem pretty expensive. Given the number of articulation points and detail on this zoid (check out the springs and shock absorber detail on the legs), I am inclined to think that the design is at least as complicated as the SDF-1 transformation. I would have picked it up if it was 1/72 and in scale with the rest of my Zoid kits (HMM and motorised). If they made an Iron Kong or Deathsaurer, I would buy it even at double the price. Ligers just aren't my fave design. Quote
Graham Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I had the chance to handle the prototype of this in Yamato's Tokyo HQ back in March last year. Pretty cool toy, but Zoids are just not my thing. Graham Quote
Snail00 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I am a big zoids fan and I am going to pick one up. The detail is incredibly. The only thing that bothers me that Yamato could have done to make this an absolute masterpiece is give the koto style claws. Those Panda claws do induce menacing. Quote
wolfx Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 man...the gun sniper with the ammo-basket is hilarious!! Quote
Chet Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 So does anyone have the Yamato? Really curious about its scale. Hate it when companies just slap on the "non-scale" label and call it a day. Quote
Retracting Head Ter Ter Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 Think it is about 1:55 to 1:60 from what I hear. Quote

I have it in transit and I will post pics. But its bigger than both the Tomy and Koto zoids. The core block is a thing of beauty Also the gun sniper I must warn you is very very flimsy and Pieces fall of easy because of the weight. I see the problem hyperbolized in this version due to the added weight from the extra beam weapons Quote
ae_productions Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Has anyone here put together a Mad Thunder or a King Gojulas? I can't wait to get my hands on those two. Quote
Snail00 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Has anyone here put together a Mad Thunder or a King Gojulas? I can't wait to get my hands on those two. I have just some of my many many zoids. Both the Mad Thunder or a King Gojulas reissue are very very hard to find making them expensive. The original King Gojulas had a had a bad mold that was never fixed and was released with a warped leg armor plate. I would suggest the Elphander, Seismosaurus, Deathasaur, and the scorpian, forgot its name.Really look good on display Quote
renegadeleader1 Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 This tread makes me sad. I had a Iron Kong from the Techno-zoids version that broke during an earth quake. It fell off the shelf and nailed me in the head. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Ultrasaurus is the best zoid ever, by far IMHO. Sad fact: many dino zoids no longer really exist. Seismosaurus has been reclassed as just a new species of Diplodocus, if that--maybe merely a morph of D. longus. Ultrasaurus is not a brachiosaur, but a diplodocoid, and also not a new genus, but actually a Supersaurus. Quote

ae_productions Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Thanks for the pics of the King Gojulas and the Madthunder! Those are the two holy grails of Zoids for me! Just awesome! Quote
David Hingtgen Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Gojulas Giga is (barely) a Giganotosaurus---more just because of the name and large head than any true detail. Giganotosaurus was big in Japan for a while, every toy dino for a few years there was based on a Giga, from Zoids to Transformers to Gashapon. Ultrasaurus---really, by modern standards, would be a Giraffatitan above all else. Quote
renegadeleader1 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Which Zoid was it that was based on Godzilla? Quote
