justvinnie Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 It just seems to be the easiest of all the non mainstream valks to make from a base VF-1. Anyone planning on one? vinnie Quote
vlenhoff Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I think Fulcy was doing it, but I don't know what ever happened. Quote
Dat Pinche Haro! Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I think Fulcy was doing it, but I don't know what ever happened. i thought he was just doing the armored gerwalk...or am i wrong? Quote
e_jacob77 Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Hi all, I too believe he was doing the armoured gerwalk...... Quote
EXO Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 yah, fulcy will make it... expect in about 27 years. Quote
vlenhoff Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 yah, fulcy will make it... expect in about 27 years. You don't have to be mean... 26 years is what it takes... Yeah, it was the armored Gerwalk what he attempted to build. What he had done looked really good IMO. Quote
Sumdumgai Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 you'd have to mod or make from scratch: -nosecone (bigger and thicker) -chestplate (larger hump, extra details) -heatshield -upper arms (rounded like the VF-0) -head -wings (VT-1 style) -intake section and upper leg -lower legs (larger, bulkier, even without fast packs) -feet (pointy like later generation valkyries) and that's just the base valkyrie without the fast packs and weapons! I hadn't realized there were that many differences until I took a close look and compared the various VF-1s with the stampeed. The difference is like comparing the YF-19/VF-19A to a VF-19F/S/custom/P. Quote
Mule Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 (edited) I've kicked the idea around of making one out of a Hasagawa model, but not a variable toy. There really are a lot of differences between an SDP-1 and a VF-1. The shape may look similar at first glance, but upon closer inspection, you see that almost every part is different. It's kind of like comparing an old F/A-18 to a new Super Hornet. From a distance, they look alike, but close-up they are totally different. Not to mention the fact that there are a lot of extra parts that would have to be made. Edited September 20, 2006 by Mule Quote
EXO Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Now that I think about it, I think it was Rob Beers that said he was making one. Before he fell into Macross black hole that took Chris Berretta, KidKorrupt and RickTheHunter. Quote
do not disturb Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 (What's a stampede valkyrie?) this bad ass valk... i'm sure theres battroid pic but you get the basic idea Quote
do not disturb Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 alright so i've been searching and searching, both here and on googl but can't find a single battroid pic of this sucker. does it exist? cause its really driving me nuts. Quote
do not disturb Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 thanks man but thats the only pic of this that exists? no actual pics of a toy/model in battroid? bummer. Quote
Fly4victory Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 That is the A-10 version of a Valk! It is the ugliest thing I have seen even worse than the last aircraft that was balled up. Quote
EXO Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 That is the A-10 version of a Valk! It is the ugliest thing I have seen even worse than the last aircraft that was balled up. haha... I agree... I'm not into it. But I love the Thunderbolt... whachoo talking 'bout willis? Quote
dizman Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 That is the most badass valk I have ever seen. It's enough to make a grown man cry. Yamato, if your out there, please for all that has been and ever will be MAKE THIS VALK! Quote
Scream Man Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 lordy, the recoil on that sucker would be a real batty. Where does it come from? Like, Ive neevr seen it in the series, so wheres it from? Quote
Sumdumgai Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 It was a design that SK did, and you can find it in the Macross Design Works. Great book. Quote
wolfx Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 I always felt that the Stampeed was something a kid cooked up while playing with macross toys. "What if i gave the VF-1 some GBP and made it look cooler by adding more gunzzz" I mean i bet most of u wanted bigger guns and weaponz on your valks. ScreamMan: Its from the SNES Macross side scroller shooter. Forgot its name. Quote
sketchley Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Yes. It's in that book, next to a rough of a Stampede VF-11 (that aparently never made it off of the design board.) Quote
drifand Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 It's so chunky the wings seem superfluous... will never take off in atmosphere. Quote
justvinnie Posted September 22, 2006 Author Posted September 22, 2006 It's a space only capital ship killer. Fully loaded, it has a GIANT ass nuclear warhead where the gun would go on the bottom of fighter mode. Quote
sketchley Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 I don't think it's a nuke. I believe it's a drop-tank. Yes, quick check of the book: "giant propellant drop-tank with reverse thrust nozzles (at the front)". Quote

kanata67 Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 it is in fact being made for the 1/48. At least it was in the process the last time I talked with beers... the stampy was his excuse for not making me more 1/55 resin at the time . He tries hard to keep a low profile as every time he pops his head up people like me start begging. www.robsthingies.com was his site though it's been a while since I've heard from him and I don't know how much progress he has made. Between him and fulcy though we have double the chances Quote
Skull-1 Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 That is the A-10 version of a Valk! It is the ugliest thing I have seen even worse than the last aircraft that was balled up. Amen to that. What a hideous "Gundum Gawd*mn" look. ICK. Quote
wwwmwww Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Yes. It's in that book, next to a rough of a Stampede VF-11 (that aparently never made it off of the design board.) I take it "that book" is the Macross Design Works? If so I REALLY need to pick that up one of these days. I just haven't got around to it yet. This is the first I think I've heard of a Stampede VF-11. Anyone care to post a pic? Carl Quote
Retracting Head Ter Ter Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 (edited) Kinda overgunned and I don't like the topside thruster poles with the 60/70s era style go-faster red pods on top. I think in fighter mode, the pilot can only see straight ahead! I would take a Strike Valk over this. Edited September 29, 2006 by Retracting Head Ter Ter Quote

Be aware that the Stampede VF-11 is little more than a rough sketch. It's even less definitive than what Kawamori includes in his designs. Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 (edited) I lurve the short range missile FP leg armor though! just lose the big gat an chimney guns with exhaust, they look rather... crap. Looks like a bloody horn. BEEEEEEP BEEEEp Outta the way Ladhy!!!! BEEEEHHHP! Perhaps a Minmay Defence speaker phone? Edited September 29, 2006 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
