chrono Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Err......I'm not the most knowledgable person about the Marvel universe, but isn't Nick Fury supposed to be white? Graham It's just Marvels version of PC and their way of preventing race based lawsuits. ----- Visually the casting looks even worse than before. The semi-goat looks pretty fugly on Downey and Howard looks like a near miss on Rhodes. Gwyneth Paltrow is a horrible miss because I doubt she could pull off the pushy, hard nosed personal aide. But what I find milding interesting is what role Bridges is gonna play. I hope that it's not Stan Industry's owner/CEO. Quote

This isn't affirmative action, it's giving fans what they want. Quote
baronv Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 (edited) New photos of IM suit from Comic Con. http://i.enewsi.com/g/?mode=album&albu...SDCC%2FIron_Man Edited July 29, 2007 by baronv Quote
eugimon Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 nice! I love the belt drive along the thighs. Quote
GobotFool Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 So how is this working? Thats the prototype suit, and later he upgrades to the newer, sleaker more form fitting red suit? Quote
eugimon Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 So how is this working? Thats the prototype suit, and later he upgrades to the newer, sleaker more form fitting red suit? yeah, that's the suit he makes to bust out of a POW camp, and later we see the current red and gold suit. Quote
Smiley424 Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Nice pics, both Downey Jr with the glove and the Original suit. I like how even the Red Gold suit glove is sleeker than the silver, but still bulky, as it should be. Quote
kanedaestes Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 Wooow you have to see the teaser footage shown at the SDCC. You can go to superherohype.com to get the link. It looks amazing, spot on so far and really funny too. Can't wait. Quote

azrael Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 i think they got this one right finally... Yeh. It looks like they actually did gave this one proper treatment. Quote
GobotFool Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 yeah, that's the suit he makes to bust out of a POW camp, and later we see the current red and gold suit. Wait? so Tony Stark is secretly Mcguyver? He can build power armor from bubblgum and tinfoil? Quote
Grand Admiral Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 (edited) Spider-Man wasn't supposed to be a pansy Uh, actually Peter Parker was a wussy nerd until he became Spider Man. That was VERY true to the Spider Man story. It has always been about a nerdy awkward guy who moonlights as a super hero, but never can quite get his life in order. Regardless... Iron Man looks AWESOME. Edited July 29, 2007 by Grand Admiral Quote
terry the lone wolf Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 (edited) "Tony Stark makes you feel, he's a cool exec with a heart of steel. As Iron Man all jets a blaze! He fights & he fights with repulsor rays! A blazin' armor! He's Iron Man! A blazin' armor! He's Iron Man!" Man! I can't wait for this flick! Edited July 30, 2007 by terry the lone wolf Quote
Fort Max Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 That trailer was fantastic, The Dark Knight guys dissapointed fans by comparison with their mere voice only teaser but I digress. Downey has really got Stark down, I actually dis-liked Stark himself in the intial scenes shown which is (ironically) great and the flying scenes at the end were some superb icing on an already damn tasty cake. Roll on next summer! Quote
glane21 Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Beacuse he was originally based on Snake Plisken (I belive) who was the best fit for the character they wanted at the time, the ultimates version however is based on Samuel L Jackson because he's the popular one these days. Nah, Nick Fury's been around since the 1960's, decades before Escape from New York. Nick Fury was simply supposed to be a badass soldier. Quote
terry the lone wolf Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Nick Fury started as a WWII era soldier(Sgt. Fury & his Howling Commandos) then later revamped as a James Bondesque superspy. Stan Lee & Jack Kirby created him & later the great Jim Steranko took over the "Nick Fury Agent of Shield" title which pushed psychadelic pop art. baronv Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 In person the Iron Man costume at SDCC was pretty slick looking. Couldn't get to close in since there were tons of people taking pics but it did look imposing. Quote
Fort Max Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 SDCC trailer has been removed now, anyone still got it? Quote
wolverine59 Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Does it help ? http://www.uruloki.org/felipeblog/cine-de-...nuevo-hulk#9943 Quote
Smiley424 Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Nice, I'm very pleased so far with everything I've seen in regards to this movie. I like how the original grey suit looked in the SDCC clip and the mockup they had there. To me, there's something off about the helmet, I can't quite place it. Maybe it's just the angle. I wonder about the red/gold suit, if there will be a physical suit or just pieces like the gauntlet from the previously posted pic. Quote
azrael Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 I wonder about the red/gold suit, if there will be a physical suit or just pieces like the gauntlet from the previously posted pic. From the on-set footage that's out there, there is a real physical red/gold suit just as the Mark I suit is real. Quote

eugimon Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I think it looks like a great deal of fun. And i really like downey's take on stark. Quote
Duke Togo Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 I have to say, usually I avoid these comic book movies like the plague, but the trailer was fairly entertaining. Then again, it was only a trailer. Quote
Ratchet Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 F-22's so stealthy, he didn't even know they were right behind him Quote
baronv Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 They even had the trailer late at night on Spike T.V., kinda weird how they had a spot for it when it doesn't come out til May still. Still nice commercial. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 That trailer pretty much tells it all doesn't it? I hope the movie is a long one. Robert Downey Jr. is always a pleasure to watch. He can give personality even to a boring stablishment superhero like Tony Stark. I wonder how he'd play Captain America or Superman. Quote
promethuem5 Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Finally watched the trailer and oh man, I am SOOOO excited now... that trailer was simply perfect... give me 3 hours of that and I will go see it multiple times and buy every special ed. DVD that comes out  Quote
Necron_99 Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Not too bad, although I wish they didn't have to drag Black Sabbath into it, but I guess I should have seen it coming Quote
promethuem5 Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I was soooooo happy to hear Sabbath there! Quote
Apollo Leader Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I was soooooo happy to hear Sabbath there! Righteous! Someone must have read my suggestion on this thread from many months ago! Hopefully they use the song in the opening credits! Quote
