Knight you lucky bastard....

I like that grey armor shot alot... has the homebrewed look that's really important for an actual live action grey armor... cool...

Ah...the original grey suit. Certainly has that slap-together feel to it.

Which is excellent! However if they attempt to pull a Halo suit for the newer suit it gets instant-fail.

This probably won't be a good time to remind you that they plan on 2 suits in this movie. The original gray suit, for the first part and then the red/gold suit for the rest of the movie.

what do you mean exactly? i'm really hoping they do a live action suit/animatronic.

Of course they do! They have to show the whole character evolution BS, so they will have more then a single suit. ;)

KingNor, they should have some concepts in the beginning of this thread still. But they've hinted at very busy slapdash designs being the 'main' hero suit.

i wonder how much of a physical suit we'll actually see. Hell, I wonder how much of a physical suit is even POSSIBLE!

I don't see why you coudln't dress up an actor in a metallic looking body suit for the iron man costume. Problem is, how hard would it have been to make a spidey costume and how many of his scenes were cg?

too many. that's how many.

That Grey Armor and that Tony's hurt heart have the same look that seems in the Animated Movie!!! :o:blink:

That looks horrible. They didn't need to slap a freaking glowy blob on his chest to show that he has heart issues. A simple brushed metal blob under a thin sheer tank would be more than enough. And I'm beginning to think that nearly every director in Hollywood has eye problems because all of the current stuff is badly over lite.

Downey looks more like drugged up Anthony Stark(IRON MAN) than a slightly drunk Tony Stark.

I agree with the blob light on his chest, but I don't think the pic is not too over lit. Perhaps it's just a production still. I've seen a helluva lot worse. At least they DID some lighting, unlike some of the other crap that has come out in the past... namely anything from Paul Verhoeven or some crappy movie thats too dark and has the same lighting scheme like Tim Burton films.

I'm kinda assuming it's a stand in to be CGI-ed over later, but I don't understand why he needs a crazy glowey thing on his chest anyways... the chest plate is just supposed to be a big clunky pacemaker.

I haven't seen a 'dark' movie/tv show in the last 10-15 years. And the last movie & TV show I saw with remotely intelligent lighting was Event Horizon, Pitch Black and FarScape season 1. :/

As for lighting... all I'm going to say is: try and watch Blade Runner on an LCD TV... after much experimentation in both light and dark rooms, I am convinced it cannot be done.

Wait a sec, the suit isn't going to be totally cg the entire time? ' __ '

Robert Downey Jr. is actually going to wear a suit of Iron Man armor?

Woah.

Jon Favreau has asked Downey time and again, "Are you sure you want to wear that suit?". To which Downey has replied that he wants to wear it so....<_<

Christian Bale complained that the Bat-suit was hot, gave him a headache, etc, but he used that for the character. I don't know if I can say the same for the Iron Man suit. ;)

The suit looks good... real good... wish I was a bigger fan of the current suit design  While I'm sure I'm in the minority, I think it'd be sweet if the iconic classic suit, or the cyber-punky Heroes Reborn suit (my personal favorite) or the Modular suit (staple suit of the 90s...) showed up...

*sigh*

At least it's not a complete Halo rip-off. But it's just blah with all of the 'visual details' they shoved on the basis design. <_< The shoulders and leg crap needs to be bigger so it looks like a proper Gundam rip-off. Simply too industrial.

The helmut's fine and has alot of camera friendly angles going for it!

I'm surprised the suit actually looks good. The designers gave the suit a muscular appearance and yet they still managed to make the suit appear mechanized rather than just a leotard. I'm impressed with this design and I think the muted colors work well for a live action adaptation.

Now only if the script and the actual direction itself are any good, this should be a win...

*crosses fingers*

The suit looks awesome, The more I hear and see concerning this film the more I'm impressed.

The main potential fly in the annointment as far as I'm concerned is director Jon Favreau. I've not been impressed by anything he's directed to date.
